I have a 61 black top that I put a 272xp top end on 2 years ago and I just went through what you described as "run, then act stupid". So I put a carburetor of a 281 I got to rebuild and meeohmy did it ever liven it up! Great video my friend!
Hello Hopper, nice to be back and checking out another fine chainsaw fixing video. Great chainsaw that 61 and 162 husqvarna is, great power and reliable as all get go tool. Thanks for taking the time to create another great video man.. Cheers brother
Sometimes I think those fuel filters start breaking down and send filter material to the carb when they look good on the outside. I’m glad that you found that trash in the screen before it scorched the p/c. Seen a lot of 2 strokes burned up from a clogged screen, especially saws.
Would be helpful to better position camera so the work isn't obscured. This is fine for experienced mechanics, but for rookies too much must be assumed because the actual work can't be seen.
You were smart to keep checking other stuff after you found wood fibers in the screen. That guy might want to pour his gas can through a screen and clean the caps when fueling up.
So I put the old base gasket back onto my 038 with clear rtv on both sides just like you done and it’s now holding its tune and running stronger then ever with the pulse line fixed, but when I pulled the cylinder it has what looks like some transfer in the cylinder and some scoring now on the intake side but you can’t feel nothing with your finger nail but the piston and rings still look beautiful should I worry about the little transfer they happend and run a hone just a little or what
I’m sorry about bothering you with so many questions and I always ask you cause i know you don’t mind but on my 038 when I redid my base gasket I noticed the pulse line would spin on the case so I knew it wasn’t sealing I cut the end off the line and got a good seal on the case so my question is would that make me have to re adjust my screws leaner after fixing the pulse line I just got to run it today cause I was out of gas and kept forgetting my can every time I went to town
By fixing the impulse leak you now have made the carb pump fuel the correct way. So in reality you are now moving more fuel so the screws need to be leaned up a little.
@@bellhoppersaws ok I wondered why I always had to run it 2.5 turns now it’s down to 1.5 and high is out around a half I’m gona finish fine tuning tomorrow it’s goin a little lean after a cut so hopefully it just needs a little more on the high jet and I didn’t get a leak at the base gasket!
@@bellhoppersaws can I delete the gasket and run just rtv because I Remember that new gasket I had I found a little crack in it from it getting bent after I tore the old gasket off, or should I just order a new gasket?
