Biggest problem on this bike (for me) is buffeting. Taller shield / extension does not work, it’s an upward draft. I have aftermarket handle bar protectors and Doubletake Adventure mirrors and a windscreen extension on my Expedition tall wind screen, but still a lot more buffeting than my old 1200GS LC. The solution online is _wider_ wind protection. I’ve ordered 2 windshield extensions online to mount on the sides. Which is ugly, but apparently eliminates all buffeting.
Can you please forward me the company you ordered from for the side windshield extensions. I have the puig on top and that has definitely helped. I hear you with the wind issue I agree
As far as I know there are no official side winglets (yet?) from any company. I have the official KTM (MSR?) top extension, but for the sides I have ordered two from China to try out first 🤷
At nearly 16k our the door at the stealerships and still have issues with the electrical and I still haven't hear if they the issues of the exhaust boiling the rear shock to point of failure..the 901 is a hard pass for me..after all there is reason both dork and big rock moto sold theirs within 3 months..and I see several on the used market
I just don’t know you could be 100% correct. I thought Dork really didn’t have mechanical issues with his, I thought he said it was expensive for his channel and he drove too fast. Ian I thought did have a rear shock issue and cold start…but I thought then he replaced the suspension and both discussed the quality issues…neither was overly concerned then Ion buys another 890? Again you could be right, it’s hard to believe a German company could have those issue but it seems they do. What I do like is their bikes perform and are the leader on performance in their respective class. Please continue to comment we will see if I back my money behind my big mouth 😊Ride safe and thank you
The shock problem is not the heat. There are only problems in US, not in EU. Dealer network tells me the problem in the crates / way they are shipped. I redid valving and springs at an independent suspension shop for my Expedition, and he asked why I had the Camel heat shield. I told him about the shock issues and he (ex-Yamaha factory driver and Dakar driver) told me he could not see the cat as a reason for the shock failing.
Coming from a 1200GS LC the foot peg position is much more relaxed for me. With the saddle in high position the knee position is more relaxed. I have an old injury from a car accident and I noticed much less knee fatigue on my new Expedition.
