For some extra How To ... tips, please navigate to: grsolutions360.com/how-to/ A wonderful machine. Performs amazing in extreme conditions. The video was recorded at -18C after a 45cm (18 inch) snowstorm.
I'll be taking delivery of our new St 330 next month in good advance before the winter and I'm very excited to try it out for the first time. Thank you for the nice video, I could get a really good insight of how good Husqvarna really does work. Ps. Greetings from Finland.
Just bought this model for 2019 Michigan winter. Already had several storms including the polar vortex storm with -28 degree air temp and -40 wind chill ; LOVE the electric start !!! Absolutely NO problems with the 4 foot tall hard packed drift that was 24 feet long across my driveway and turn around. Best purchase ever !!!
Bought my st224 2 years ago and never even put gas into it because of no snow! Today I replaced the oil and put gas in it for the first time to prep for the snow storm happening right now. Runs good and I am excited to get out in the snow finally with it!
I've got the same machine, they are impressive for the size. Light weight easy to handle. Throws fluffy snow 40 or 50 ft and does good with sticky snow too still throws it 30 plus ft
I liked how far mine would throw snow but not much else. The auger would jam from small branches from the trees plus gravel from the driveway. The operating cables would freeze up from snow melting and seeping into the cable housings.. I would let go of the controls and it kept going on its own.I had a unheated shed for it and sometimes I wouldn't even try to use it but went back to the snowfloat. During late January and into February it wasn't uncommon for -20 celsius temps.
WARNING!! The 224s have plastic mounted controls. They will break over and over..and costs $100 each time it breaks, if you replace it yourself.. The 227s and higher have steel mounted controls with a plastic cover over the steel, but the controls are not mounted to the plastic..
Full width for the 1st pass only , then 1/2 width for subsequent passes. Makes a clean sweep. Snow that falls will usually stay in the housing, snow that goes over the housing will get picked up on the following pass. Easier on the machine and the operator.
Glad I got mine! 800 feet of private road, before I get to my driveway. This has been the best! Better than my plow, not having to sort out where to put the snow, just blow it into the woods!
I cannot but agree, chainsaw one of the top ones , with St 224 engine is underpowered for wet snow, my Ariens Deluxe 24 wth 254 cc woks better in all snow conditions and is better built (all metal and cast iron gear box quality )......
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ru-vid.comUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
Possible. But i am really happy with this one also. No issues for 5 years now and working perfect on ice and wet snow also. I prefer to believe that i did the perfect choice :)
@@grsolutions3607 I think when something works good for somebody, they made the right choice. ;) I hafta share a buddies story, tho. He is a super fan of their chainsaws, so he bought one of their branded blowers without looking into them. The problem is he lives in the woods where debris from trees is a common problem. He broke a couple gearboxes and realized it just wasn't the machine for him, so he sold it and bought an Ariens. However, Huskie has an optional deflector extender (you can see the holes for it in your deflector) and he liked that so much he had one custom made for his Ariens, lol.
@@hunterdude3262 Had mine 4 years and Can’t throw snow more than 5 feet now. Makes strange noise. Nothing stuck nothing ran over. When it was new ran and threw snow 20 30 feet. No more.
I have, maybe 10 hours on mine - on the 3rd auger belt, 2nd scraper bar, the height shoes on worn down and now the junk cable on the drive speed broke - don't recommend
I have an Ariens 28 inch deluxe and its a beast, I would however go with the 30 inch for the additional power, budget depending. Husqs have a reliability issue according to CR, I went Ariens and don't regret it.
The problem is they farm out their snowblowers to a company called AYP. They aren't the worst machines, but you would have to know exactly the features you want and where the design weaknesses are to know which models will be less problematic than others. And I don't know how much of a premium you might pay for the Husqvarna name over other blowers built by AYP. I do know they did make a high end machine they targeted toward competing with Honda. They might have spent enough to make that a good machine, I dunno. I know they started experimenting with a cast impeller, something I've never seen on another blower. I'm curious to see how they'll hold up and what will happen when/if it fails.
Honda is the best although somewhat pricey, had a Hv 330 T and the Honda HST1336 is in a league of it’s own, resale price is also an indicator of perceived quality 😊
@@andreh.dupuis8475 Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at 2 machines now both $1500. One is a showroom condition hs622 and the other is an ariens deluxe 24 that has never been run yet. Ariens is probably a 2020 or 2021. I'm not sure of the Honda but you could eat off the impeller housing it's that clean. Any suggestions?
Schnee in Form von Puderzucker ist jetzt nicht wirklich ein Maßstab. Bitte mal gleiche Höhe aber mit nassem oder gefrorenem Schnee. Dann reden wir weiter.
1:01 Must be brand new. It won't be blowing snow like that by season's end. It may go 8 feet if you're lucky. The ST224s are garbage. I own one, so I know.
@Jean-Michel Dupont The 224s have plastic mounted control levels.. They break very easily. The contol panel costs about 100 and takes a very skilled person about an hour to replace.. The 227 and higher have controls mounted to steel with a plastic cover over it, but the controls are not attached to the plastic..
@@jonbedker5229Thanks for the infos, I also assumed these were too flimsy for my use. I ended up buying a used Yanmar YSR9H with hydrostatic transmission. This thing is built like a tank ( 170kg ) and performs very well every time I need it!
