Thank you so very much!!! My husband purchased this mower about 3 years ago. He always taught me how to operate the mowers he used. But, at that time because of a sickness I was not able. Well, I got all better and then my best friend, my encourager, the one who kept me laughing for 61 years decided to go to Heaven. I looked over the instruction book to try to learn, then tried to find a video to help me. Yours was perfect! Thank you so much

Hello. Your very welcome! I make my videos a certain way to be informative to people that don't have much or any experience with the subject. I try to share as much info as I can and I get alot of hate for that. But haters can't change me. They think I talk to much in my videos, but they will never be satisfied. Your very welcome and thank you for your kindness, aswell as your support. Take care and be safe. Later, PEACE! 🙂

Well done! I’m gonna try a few of your ideas on mine, I put about 1.5” blocking under my seat where the springs are to bring my backrest forward more I didn’t like how far leaning back I was, I have very steep hills around my yard so I put on the tractor tread tires, and I filled all 4 tires up with winter windshield washer fluid, increase steering, climb, any hill, side hill anything,pull anything, no tipping, I upgraded to 5/8”Kevlar drive belt to handle pulling, the stock 1/2” broke quickly ,and I cut 5” off my discharge but I regret it after few cracked windows ,ill get a new one and try your idea, and I like your toe hitch idea!

I bought a 2022 model...but I paid $4800. for it.. then I also took off the turf rear tires, and added Ag. tires ... I have a very steep slope on the side of my home... that thing is like a jeep... ABSOLUTY LOVE THIS MACHINE....

Hello, yes it is a beast! Price has sky rocketed, since I bought mine. I was mowing under some apple trees for a customer once, there was wild onions growing all over this hillside. Not crazy steep, but good slope. I was going and all the sudden started sliding out of control. Freaked me out! But got lucky and nothing bad happened. So good choice on some better traction tires. Thanks for your support and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Enjoy your amazing machine and take care. Later, PEACE! 🙂

P.S I think I’ve had mine 6 years maybe, still looking like new, it was $4,200 Canadian then and I think it was the absolute best bang for my dollar then , for what it was offering for that price, The seat, the deck and spindles, 24 horse Kawasaki, large rear tires, Heavy duty transmission, and the differential lock and with fluid filled tires it’s a beast !!

Thanks Matt!!! One of the nicest comments I've got. I love that machine, its awesome in so many ways. The locker is amazing. I'm very happy with how the storage box turned out. I have got ONLY 116 hours on it in one year. I'm gonna make a 2nd part to this video eventually, since I have realized a couple more things since putting those hours on it. It is the heart of my business for sure. Take care buddy and keep up sharing kindness. Just that alone makes all the difference. One of the main reasons I started making videos. Is to help good people that actually appreciate what I've done. Thanks again! Later, PEACE! 🙂

I've been using a bungee cord to pull the chute up for storage. I like your idea. For my hitch ball, I mounted a 12" long piece of 1/4×31/2×31/2 angle iron, and sandwiched the tractor frame between it and a 3/16 thick plate on the inside of the frame with 3/8 bolts and nuts. You will also want to beef up the brackets where the axle is attached to the frame. The chintzy folded ear cracks. I made some brackets that set on top of the factory pieces, used the factory bolt holes, and then attach higher up on the side of the frame. Just some extra support. Good luck, and keep up the good work.

Any tips on leveling the deck? Seem to hit roots really hard sometimes stops the tractor with the front two deck wheels.
@sweetbailey6315
@sweetbailey6315 Год назад
Hello Silkroad Outdoors. There are 3 positions on the 4 corner wheels for the deck. Mine originally was in upper position, so I moved down to middle. So the deck won't scalp the turf. The deck is "Full Floating" design. The front wheels in middle, i DON'T believe are adjustable at all. The hangars that the deck mounts to are also adjustable, so just play with all your adjustments and see what works for you. The way I have mine setup is all original except for the deck ride level wheels. But when I lower the deck, the front wheels you mentioned touch the ground first. So try to adjust the front hangars. I dont recall if front is adjustable tho. Hope this helps, good luck. Thanks for your support and kindness.. Take care. Later, PEACE! 🙂

Oh ya. I had removed my deck completely, for plowing snow. That front nut that holds that bracket. Holy Smokes, it was the most difficult thing to get off! Your welcome. I don't know your situation, but I very much dislike exposed roots. I would get some fill dirt and cover the roots. If you spread it lightly about once every week or two. It won't bury the grass and will raise up the turf level enough, to solve your issue. But if you got like 3 acres of trees, this may be a fair amount of work. It took me 2 solid years of consistent work to get my back yard to as nice as it is. Hope this all helps, sorry if the machine limits what you can adjust. Later buddy

I own this machine, and I appreciate that the $$$ is clearly focused on the engine and mechanics; I couldn’t care less that the metal engine cover is super flimsy, as some have commented on. I had to adjust the deck a bit in the beginning, but after that it now gives a superb cut. Though I think if I had to do it all over again, I might just purchase the Zero-turn version for the clearly-superior speed. Nonetheless, I foresee a long, and relatively trouble-free ownership.

I seen your comment on the Husqvarna riding lawn mower. I noticed you showed how to put an eye hook in where the catcher is and lift it up. Very dangerous, this is there for safety. My neighbor did the same thing to his lawn mower and one day he was cutting the lawn and his neighbor's son was outside and a stone flew up from the lawn mower and hit the child in the head and killed them instantly. Of course he was found guilty of neglect and eliminating a safety device from the mower. Also he was sued. His life was destroyed and he drank a lot and then died in an automobile accident because of this. You are showing people something that might cause a death and I would think about this very seriously. Thank you for listening to me.
@sweetbailey6315
@sweetbailey6315 2 года назад
Hello sir. Your right, I did show how I modified my mower. But thing about machinery and equipment is that they are very dangerous from the factory. Many people tie the discharge chute up permanently. Which is way worse then how I use mine. Also there are times that you need to lift the chute up to drive through gates, which is what the modification is mainly for. Normally about 99% of the time I use the discharge chute in it's full down position as it's intended. It sounds like to me that in your story there where more factors that caused the accident. Like you said, neglect of safety equipment. Also same as I said, people that tie up the chute permanently. Which I agree 100% is very dangerous and a bad idea. I DO NOT ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO DO THAT! Also the person in your story was drinking and driving the machine, which is a major factor and is also a very bad idea! I may have misunderstood that part and maybe the person started drinking heavily AFTER the accident. Either way I get your point, I DO NOT encourage people to misuse or destroy safety equipment on ANY MACHINERY. In my video I don't show that I use the discharge chute as intended. So my apologies for that. I am planning on making a 2nd part to the first video on that mower. So I will go over this subject in the new video. Thank you for your concern, I sincerely appreciate it. But I also plan on adding more mods to the machine, now that I have over 100 hours on it. I'm going to add a flap on the end of the chute that will prevent debris from flying into gardens and such. So actually that will make it safer and work about 200% better. My condolences to the persons that your story happened to. I'm very sorry for what happened to them. Thank you for your support, concern and comments. Take care and be safe. Later, PEACE!

I noticed your review is now three years old and I'd love to see a long term follow up on your tractor. Like, dislikes, issues you may have encountered. I just purchased a new TS 354XD and I like your mods. The OEM storage box does appear useless compared to what you designed. But the new TS 354XD mowers are now selling for $5k. So I don't see myself cutting into my new high end lawn tractor anytime soon... I too have a small yard and the TS 354XD is overkill for what I need. Especially with that oversize discharge chute BUT, it's a cool and powerful lawn tractor that should out last me. I may install a mulch kit and I'd love to know what experience people have had with that kit installed on a TS 354XD. Where did you purchase the trailer hitch? Great video..

Bought mine back on April 6th of this year from my Local Lowe's. Got it home and started cutting with it i got to cut my yard maybe a total of 5 times before the blades started to disengage and re-engage them selves without pulling the electronic PTO switch to cut them on or off. Called my local Husqvarna dealership that does maintence and repairs they seem to think there is a problem with the PTO Clutch being bad and it needs to be replaced. Really aggravated as this is a $4500+ dollar tractor as i bought the 3 year extended warranty on it since the unit i bought was missing a starter switch so Lowe's cut me a $450 discount. It's been in the shop now for over a month. The dealership i took it to disconnected all electrical connections and re connected them they seemed fine the battery was load tested it was okay, they drove the unit on multiple long distance rides in local neighborhoods with the blades turned on, they have left the mower running for an hour outside and driven the unit and mowed in the median with the blades on and the mower never acted up like the video i showed them. The engine never skipped or missed. They tested the voltage output with the blades engaged and dis engaged. They said the charging system works fine as designed. I can only hope this new PTO Clutch will fix my issues. I have a steep back yard when i stop at the bottom of the yard where its level and engage the blades and start my assent up hill the front led head lights flicker like stobe lights so im more enclined to think there is a electrical issue. Lowe's did offer to buy back the mower through there extended warrenty program or offer to have them come out and cut my grass while Lowe's fixes the tractor or cut me a check to have someone come out and cut my yard until its fixed also. I want to keep the tractor since the closest speeced John Deere Lawn Tractor is almost $2k more with a smaller deck granted it has a hydrolic locking differential instead of a electronic locking differential.

Yes, its "P and M Fabrication" universal tow hitch with support bracket. Its about 50 dollars online. It accepts all 3/4 inch ball shanks. No ball included. Comes with most hardware needed, large bolt, large nut, large lock washer, small bolts and nuts. But I had to drill 4 holes in frame to install. There is no specs on towing weight or anything. I had to use longer bolts and about 4 extra washers on each side to fit tightly on upper bracket. I would recommend it, I have 5' x 8' trailer to haul mower and I can haul trailer with mower aswell easily. Both mower and trailer about 600 pounds each. Hope this helps. Your welcome

I’ve had mine for three years. I have 8 acres that is on a slope. Red dirt and clay with occasional rocks. Land is not flat and pristine grass. All the items you said are true. It is heavier built than standard front of the big Box mowers. I had a craftsman lawn mower that lasted 14 years. The reason I got rid of it was the hood was plastic. It started breaking apart every time mowed. So bad I had to just take the hood off. I looked till I found this one. What sold me was the metal hood that provided structural support. And the locking deferential. The tractor is great but There are several things I dislike 👎. After three years, the deck lower metal band came apart and bent inboard of the deck. And hit the blade. Had to remove deck and fix. The deck has very little lift. Lowest is full down on deck wheels but full height is only 3 inches. My old mower was 5.5 inches up. Second I accidentally splashed fuel on the plastic and when I wiped it off the lettering came off the deck height adjustment. So don’t spill fuel around the lettering painted on the plastic. On uneven ground like in a ditch the deck will scalp and dig into the dirt like a bulldozer. The deck has no skid lip so it will dig. The ignition switch is now giving issues starting. I have to reach under the hood and wiggle the switch QUick disconnect to get it to start. I’ve got to see why it’s doing that all of a sudden. Another issue is the steering wheel. It is plastic geared and has worked loose. The plastic is wearing out and the steering wheel keeps getting play. I’ve had to make oversized washer to tighten it down more. I can see that is going to be an issue soon. The rear wheels on mine wobbles from the factory. Like the axles are warped or the wheels are bent. Not impacting function but annoying to see them wobble. I also put a switch on and wired an sae two pole battery plug mounted on the rear to power a pull behind 20 gal garden sprayer. I can spray a wide path or spray with a hose from the seat. Turn the pump on and off. The tractor does the job but could be better. Like the rear light. Thanks for the video.

Very frustrating, and definitely a wiring issue.

Hello Chris. Congratulations on your new garden tractor! I'm happy for you. Please don't be offended by the next segment, because that's NOT it's intention. Alot of people have almost no sense of appreciation or respect for strangers they know nothing about. It's easier to pick one thing you don't like about them, rather then picking one thing you like about them. It's funny how someone makes one tiny mistake in a video and lots of people choose to criticize them for it. Like I've said before, The number one reason I bought the mower is for "MY LANDSCAPING BUSINESS!". I agree without disrespect to anyone. Hello, I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't searched, so I really don't know if there still available. The thing that sucks, is some of the best products are underrated or unknown. So they don't sell enough, then get discontinued. I'm not saying this is, but maybe. Also someone that makes the choice high up in the company, decides to change the product and make it worse or whatever. Good luck and I hope you can find one. It's a great machine and they should fix a few minor issues, like I did. But then, leave it alone and keep making it. Don't fix it, if it's not broken or flawed. Take care, later. PEACE!

@sweetbailey6315
@sweetbailey6315 Год назад
Hello Kyle. I'm not a 100% sure, the zero turns operate differently. If your going straight up a hill, then it should have power to both wheels. You may just need better tires on it. It just depends how steep the terrain is. If I was you, I would try different new tires on your zero turn that are more aggressive. I had mine on some pretty steep terrain people said I wouldn't be able to put it on. It did better then they thought. But it also matters how smooth the terrain is. If its super rough or bumpy, just about anything will loose traction. Sometimes you have to figure out different patterns when mowing. Like there may be certain areas where you can only go straight down hill. Never side hill, its super dangerous. Hope this helps, good luck and take care. Later, PEACE! 🙂

I did notice its hard to get the blades going with the 54 inch deck. I believe that the 48 would be easier to gain momentum when engaging the blades. But this is a tool and there will be wear. I am going to purchase either a 348XD or 354XD within a week or son (once they come in at my local dealer). The dealer told me that the only practical difference between the two (other than size, of course) is that the 54 inch may be more inclined to get out-of-level. I noticed on your excellent video that you wanted the 48 inch, but settled instead for the 54 inch. Would you share why? I have 5 acres to mow and plan to use the Husqvarna as a backup to my 61 inch Grasshopper 729 zero-turn. Thank you!
@sweetbailey6315
@sweetbailey6315 3 года назад
Hello Tom, yes of course. Either way its a great machine and I'd recommend it. Yes, I was gonna get the 48. I believe the 48 has 2 blades instead of 3. I could be wrong. The 2 blades would be bigger, but only 2 pulleys on the belt to drive them. My thought was that the 2 blades (48) would cause less drag on the engine when blades were engaged. But not sure, just my thought. But I did notice on mine, now that I got about 20 hours on it. Sometimes when I engage blades at medium RPM it will or almost kill the engine completely due to sudden drag caused by blades taking power from engine. That was my worry and why I was wanting the 48 instead of the 54 with 3 blades. They are smaller blades, but 3 contact points on belt to cause drag. So im not sure which would cause less RPM drop on engine when engaging. I may do another video about this subject. Thank you for your support and I wish you the best with your new machine. Take care

So this video is perfect for me. I waved at a county worker that was driving a Ford tractor with a hillside hydraulic mower in it. Didn’t know him from Adam but he waved back. I held the door open for a beautiful woman with two young children and she had e me a big smile and a thank you. I waved at a UPS driver coming into my neighborhood and they waved back. So….fast forward to tonight. I get a call from my tree guy who I refer out for dangerous tree removal for my customers. He told me he just did a big job for a lady today and she gave him a brand new zero turn mower and he wants to know if I want to buy his $3700.00 Husqvarna hydrostatic garden tractor from him for $1200.00. I’ve seen this machine before at his house and was admiring it a few weeks ago while I was working on his old Dump truck for him. I’m a firm believer in karma. Yes I don’t have many more cuts left this season but I am snatching this mower before he sells it to his back up buddy….lol…but he’s giving me first choice. I’m going to take my old 22 year old MTD yard machine to my camp property to enjoy its final years there while I enjoy this Husqvarna for my home duties. Yes I’m tired of fixing that old Yard machine but it still runs like a champ.

Got 2 questions for you: 1)Want to install a tow package on my 354xd - how did you direct bolts thru those 2 upper holes you drilled into the drawbar? There is so little space behind that drawbar plate to maneuver objects that I didn’t think it would be possible to install bolts. Did you have to remove the drawbar which doesn’t appear to be an easy task. 2) would you feel comfortable letting us know the manufacturer and part number of the tow package you used?

Hello Bill. I believe the way it works is the bottom hole will put the deck wheels FURTHEST away from the deck. Which will reduce scalping the turf. But if the wheels are adjusted to the top hole, it will put the wheels closest to the deck. Which will put the blades closer to the ground. I may be wrong. But I believe this is the way this type of deck works. When I got mine from the dealer, the deck was in the highest position. The bolt was in the bottom, the deck was at the highest setting. It will fill automatically when you fill the main tank, drawing from it depends upon flipping the valve under the seat. You can also use that valve as a shutoff by putting it in the halfway position. I intend to put a shutoff right next to the fuel filter, where it will be handier in my opinion.

How do Ichange my blades
@sweetbailey6315
@sweetbailey6315 3 года назад
Hello, well there is kind of a process. First you need a wrench or ratchet. Figure out what is size of nut under deck that holds blade on. Then you need to hold the blade with a thick glove and loosen nut. The threads on "mandrel" (what blade is bolted too) should be reverse threads. Which means you will need to turn nut opposite direction that the blade turns when in operation. Counter clockwise, once a blade is off. Then you need to buy correct blades to replace them, unless you already have them. Then same procedure but in reverse order and direction to put new blades on. Hope this helps, good luck and please be careful.
