Superb demonstration. I am not a natural engineer and learning as I go through trying to set up a homestead. Excellent style and no time wasting. Thank you. I can now attempt to mount a sleeve hitch myself.
Some of the best information I have found on a power sleeve hitch.and how to install it. Johnny Products should be paying you. Great video. Thorough. Thanks
Great video as always. I have a Husqvarna built Craftsman GT 5000. Love these little garden tractors and so glad you bought another one. Johnny Products have always been an interest of mine and love their little front end loaders. I currently have the 48" manual Craftsman Dozer blade that everyone has. Sure, would love to upgrade!!!! Keep doing a great job with the videos!!
You may want to beef up the axle mounts on your tractor. The chintzy bent tabs from the frame will crack. I added some brackets using the factory holes on the axle bracket and mounted the other end higher up on the side of the frame, drilling 2 holes and bolted in place. Just some extra strength. Good vid!
Good to see you on the air . I'm gonna send you some knee pads , I can feel that concrete !! That's a nice looking tractor, good upgrade for the farm . Also I spied 🕵️what looks like at least one old Washington style base on the shelf and something similar on top . I have one in great cosmetic shape but it needs some pretty major repairs under the lid , but I got it on the cheap 👍. I'll send it off eventually .
Saturday morning, 1st cup of coffee and a video from Far Point Farms. Eric, you recommend Husqvarna? Need a new lawn/garden mower. Excellent video and Johnny products - good for supporting FPF! Stay safe an well!
You are doing PR work for Johnny Products. You said you paid for your sleeve and we all believe you. I found that Johny Products are ripping the customer on this Sleeve Hitch product. They are making tons of money so ask them to update their website.
What does that even mean? You literally gave no information whatsoever. They can make as much money as they want to. If people are willing to buy it that's their prerogative.
I'm shopping for a lawn tractor and like you I want to do more with the product than the manufacturer would like but I noticed that the Johnny Bucket website clearly states they don't recommend the TS3xx series because they have weak frames. Since you put their sleeve hitch on your unit I was wondering if you have any regrets and/or have noticed any issues? Thanks for your time and for your excellent videos. Paul - Toronto Canada.
Thank you for your helpful Videos. You've helped me a lot maintaining my property on a budget as well. Questions about this that I am having trouble finding anywhere on the internet. What is the stoke length for the actuator? And what is the weight rating this thing can lift?
I added a Johnny Product sleeve hitch to my Husqvarna 354 and I love it except for one problem. Now when I steer my front wheels skid on the ground and will not turn. I temporarily added two John Deere suitcase weights to the front bumper and turning the steering wheel was very difficult. I’m having trouble finding front wheel weights. Any solutions?
I have just installed the sleeve hitch to my Husqvarna 348 XD and am having the same problem. Have you found a decent solution yet? I would appreciate any ideas before I start the trial and error method.
You've done some great PR work for Johnny Products. I'd really like to try their actuator. Any chance of them offering a discount code for referrals from you?
Hi! Thank you so much for these videos and demonstrations. We recently bought a Toro ZeroTurn Time Cutter tractor for gardening and cutting our lawn. We only bought a Disc Cultivator and regular Hitch Kit. Do we need to buy the Sleeve Hitch and Harrower instead? After watching you use that plow to dig that trench, I feel like we need that, too, because our land has deep hay-like roots. I'm so confused now but I want to get the necessary equipment to be a successful homesteader. Please advise.
The sleeve hitch is really needed to make both of those work.. The disc cultivator is more for making rows to plant in the cultivator is for ripping to soil. We have used the cultivator more that the other. The fun part of homesteading is learning what works for you. Every year we learn what works best for us. We have learned that in ground gardens don't always give us the results we want. T
Love your videos (and your property)! Quick question: I have a Troy bilt Pony I've used for snow plowing and it's been surprisingly good. It's the 7 speed CVT and is used about 7-8x winter, 1 hour each time. Any concerns with the transmission with all the Reverse gear use? Thanks!
I would just do maintenance on it, the pony transmissions are the lighter duty side so long term are not designed for hard work, that said, most of them are able to be serviced if needed.
I know I'm late to the party, but how on earth did you get those wheel weights on there? Just got a 354XD and I can't figure out how without drilling holes in the hub. I mow sideways on some scary slopes and I want a lot more weight down low.
There should be some square holes in 4 spots around the perimeter of the wheel hub. The long bolts that come with these go in there. Most setups only use two of the holes and two of the bolts per side.
@@FarpointFarms Thanks! I also like your wheel spacers and will be doing that too. Also putting on R4 tires, the ag tires I had on the GT6000 tear up the lawn.
I picked up a used sleeve hitch however I dont have the brackets that you install at 5:40 in video. Do you know what these brackets are called or where to purchase them? The part the sleeve hitch sits on.
If you go to the Johnny Products website it is listed there. They only have a few items listed and the prices are listed as well. As with most things the cost has gone up lately.
@@barryseifert6053 Everyone has different priorities. I don't have the skills or equipment to fabricate one myself, but the utility I would get from such a thing far exceeds $800. Therefore, it's not ridiculous.
No, that's the one model and year tractor that it won't fit. If you had a 1993 or 1995 it would be no problem, even though they are exactly the same tractor. SMH
Well if that question was addressed in the video why don't you tell me what time me in the video he did? I wouldn't ask that question if it was answered. Smart one.
@@TheJohnnyBoyShow It's a stupid question because do you really think that he knows each and every brand, make and model of garden tractor it will fit? Stop being so damn lazy expecting other people to do things for you. Do your research on the
I looked one up.😂 they don't even tell you the price until you add it to cart they know the second you see the price your gonna laugh and hit the back button. When a manual one cost under 200 and the electric actuator can be had for under 50 bucks it's definitely laughable.
