You are the HVAC industry's LEGEND..! you explained beter than MQ creator about hows to use and what's benefit of MQ. Jim should pay for you..! Thanks again and again for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Yup, I use the same setup. Fieldpiece charge and air kit with the measure quick app is as good as it gets for now. My co worker got testo for the cheaper price, he now regrets his choice. The extended range of field piece probes is worth the extra cost.
Testo sensors are usually very accurate and precise as compared to FP and others; however the FP ones work by beaconing their data stream so it can be read by multiple ipads, iphones etc plus the FP has the longest range of all the other brands. Lastly, the Testo probes power off once the user ipad or mobile device connection is lost. FP will runs as long as the battery power is available by double pressing the power button. The defult is auto power off in 2 hours. Very useful when you have to been in the attic on the 3rd floor. MQ is the ultimate application tool. You can even use MQ without any of the wireless probes by manually entering pressures and temps. Only down side of course is that the MQ outputs will not be dynamically changing as the HVAC system runs and its paramters constantly change. You would have to constantly change all the inputs from traditional manifold gauge and meters. WITH MQ and wireless probes, I dont need my manifold gauges or hoses anymore. The only time hoses are used now is during charging or recovery. I think I save alot of lost refrigerant into the atomosphere during repairs and charging.
I have the fieldpiece job link (the same you have on here) it's awesome. Customers feel so much more confident when they see this, they see I have no room for error and trust what I'm doing and what I tell them. I try to explain to them a bit what they are too so they get even more or a feeling of confidence. Then I show them the results. All you guys are awesome.
I’m just going to make my first purchase of the Sensi Predict system and TEC Minneapolis Digital TrueFlow Solution Full Kit with DG8 Manometer and All 8 Adapter Plates that also works with measureQuick I hope Tru Tech Tools or Jim Bergman can arrange to send you some test sample to make videos with these products. Bill Spohn are you listening 👂
There are multiple places to take measurements not just one. Here is the guide for it for MQ support.measurequick.com/knowledge-base/proper-wireless-probe-placement-for-accurate-diagnostics-in-measurequick/
What is the difference between MeasureQuick and the FieldPiece app? Also approximately how far downstream do you want to measure your supply air temperature? Thanks for the video
MeasureQuick takes a lot more readings, more calculations and has great diagnostics features. It does require an additional instruments Additional discharge line pipe clamp, Additional temp probe for the outside air, Return air and supply air thermometers. And for best performance the return and supply pressure probes. MQ is free in the classics option but you can't take screen shots, and if you want to save the data it's $5 per unit per year.
These are definitely sweet, not going to lie.. 5 bucks an email, is an absolute bloody joke.. it's hillarious and all, that anyone doesn't bill it to the customer, however, on a humanity scale, gielpiece gets a 0.01 on this🎉
I absolutely love my Fieldpiece probes since I’ve gotten them. All the information in one place is great as well as no hoses full of refrigerant. Just a quick question Ty what grit sandpaper do you use for copper lines when cleaning up for connections.?
The temperature clamps always give OPEN or random high numbers; the screw caps of pressure gauges are too short. It’s hard to screw on some old service valves. I have to use 6” low loss ball valve hoses for the pressure gauges
Thanks for the feedback. There was a few pics of equipment I had to use an adapter because of space for the probes. I haven't had an open line yet. I'll keep an eye out.
I was kind of tricky getting to the guide. I was on Android, it usually different for apple. Mapping the probes and first set up is a little involved. But it's worth it!
Static videos and airflow will be coming before long. Untill then here is a quick guide for static pressure testing. It varies by equipment type and what you are looking for/checking. www.trutechtools.com/assets/images/PDFFiles/TESP%20Testing-2.pdf
Return can be close but supply A few options. You can put it inside the first register ( a pain and a ladder is required ugh) Or ... I tied a string around mine and dropped is farther down the supply duct. tied it off, put the door back on. Good to go, fast easy.
I have to get on board with this crap, I don't know how I survived this long !😅 Get on board or get run over!🤔😅🤣 Thanks! 🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🍇🏌🏻♀️ Stay safe. Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
That's a great question. I have not. I had connectivity issues when the walk in bax was sub floor. Air cooled I had no issues. I will look into it when I get a chance.
Can't you make tons of money in HVAC even without knowing the deep theory as long as you go through the motions of the common problems? Aren't there plenty of average techs making big money if they know how to get business? Not saying this is smart or good, but it does happen all the time.
