Great information if your ductwork is running through an attic or unconditioned spaces . For people in the Midwest with basements & ductwork running through conditioned areas, leakage is not that big of a deal, as long as it’s making it to the conditioned area . By far static pressure is the biggest killer here in the Midwest (and that boils down to improper duct size,a killer no matter what neck of the woods you live in💨 ). Manuals J,D,S & yes the one that no one uses, manual T & Life will be good (at least the HVAC system will be good 😂).

Nope. This is absurd and only about pushing an app. Tape/seal your joints. Problems solved

If they only did it! Also undersized ductwork is more than common.

I am watching all this content and I’m realizing why some houses just never feel comfortable even though they are not hot. The average consumer is so underinformed about HVAC including in the car. People almost never set their controls correctly and don’t understand anything except they think it blows cold air. To think that the largest expense people have every month is their electric bill and they do crazy things like turn it off during the day thinking they are saving money when it takes all night working at higher amperage to cool and dehumidify. Immigrant people here in Houston ride around in 100º heat at a 78º dew point with the windows down thinking they are saving gasoline while completely sabotaging the aerodynamics of the car, actually creating much more drag than the ac compressor does.

I don’t understand, if you do things right and don’t cut corners then you are talking to half ass techs.

Do you ever come across half ass work?

I test airflow often but in comercial/industrial systems. I wish there was a better or easier/quicker way than traversing with a hot wire. Thats all i have for somewhat accurate measurements. I also test tesp to compare results

What about building codes that require heat laden “fresh air” to be dumped into humid climates Return Air?
@Brian17177

Use a ERV or HRV to exchange heat and/or humidity from exhaust to fresh air

Ductless Mini Split....end of the story!
@owensotak9498
@owensotak9498 Год назад
when a majority of housing already has central heating and/or ac its better and more cost efficient to redo ductwork
@respecht2767
@respecht2767 Год назад
😂 yeah good luck using mini splits to heat/cool a 3 story 3000 sq foot home at a price thats comparable to centralized

Yeah forget filtration and fresh air, just stick these plastic things on the wall that will look like crap in 10 years.

Huh? Wrong route if humidity is of concern. Just install your system correctly. I only sell minis if ductwork is not an option

3:27 seconds in (“ the biggest problem in our industry “). THE Contractor who is untrained unskilled and qualified to sell the equipment in the first place did not properly design. You’re not capable or competent of training his installers to properly install the equipment It’s a domino effect From the top down
