I got a gear box change out scheduled in my calls tomorrow, never done one before. This video helped me a lot to get an idea of what needs to be done, thanks a ton man.

I've got a machine that was making a screaming noise. Descaled it, was good for a month. Screaming again. Descaled it again. The auger turns, as I see the cutter turning but when ice forms, it stops turning. The gear motor seems electrically fine but has a broken gear or other part. Do you think given this, the evaporator and auger are likely good? I might consider fixing the gearbox but not putting $4,000 into GM, Evap, and auger... Or what would you do? I just acquired this because my company threw it away.
Auch! I replaced this augers twice, both under manufacturer warranty - too expensive. Unless you have time to take everything a part and figure out what actually causing that sound - most likely gear box as you think. Good luck!
@@MaratRPMSoCal I found one on ebay (new) with the mechanical seal. Ill have to check the PDF file of the breakdown if I need more seals/ small parts. I wonder / i think I can do this without cutting refrigeration lines.
Watch man! you should newer touch white ceramic of bottom seal, even with your clean fingers, otherwise it will newer seal and leak, and yes, than you need a new gear box.
