I have an American standard Platinum system with the 1050 thermostat. It has two zones. At random times when both thermostats are completely satisfied the master bedroom zone will kick on with 100% air flow and the main zone will say relieving air. It will blow hard for about 3 to 5 minutes then go back to normal cooling. It never does this during the normal cooling process. It's only after everything is satisfied.

Great video. Very informative. There aren’t many do it yourself projects I won’t try thanks to RU-vid. But for some reason installing a zone system is a little intimidating. I don’t have existing manual valves on my system so I would be starting from scratch. Is it as technical as it seems and what should a novice be most aware of?

Question, RDC, R and C gets 24 volts while D is dc volts. Does the 24 volts terminal next to it come from same transformer? Great video!

I think the R and C are outputs. If so, what is it feeding?
