We were out of our comfort zone with this video as this was our first SUV (ouch, third row is missing) imported from Japan.
On top of that we couldn't place our hands on either a 2018 petrol HR-V or a new 2023 hybrid HR-V model to make an honest comparison.
As a result, we've missed a few very important points:
🚨 Honda VEZEL ex Japan is equipped with a premium 7 Speed Double Clutch ROBOT for better fuel consumption and better driving experience compared to a CVT gearbox (automatic continuously variable transmission). It should feel a lot lighter and more powerful on the road than its younger local counterpart, launched in 2023 - HR-V hybrid, coupled with a CVT.
🚨 It seems that a top HR-V model (VTI-L) comes with a sunroof by default, while it's just an option on a premium VEZEL model - called Z*HSENSING. However, top shelf VEZEL wins with a luxurious interior trim, auto heated front seats + memory seats for the driver that come as standard.
🚨 HR-V on STEROIDS. Like with any Japanese import and their local counterpart (such as Estima and Tarago), you'll get a higher quality vehicle with more options and additional performance for your money if you opt for a Vezel.
And, if looks matter for you, boy, you'll stand out nicely anywhere you drive.
