Tetris Effect is a rare game where you can tell every part of it was crafted with so much love and emotion. You can tell they really cared about making it the absolute best it could be.
Haven't played a video game since super nintendo. Picked up an Oculus Quest 2, first game was Tetris Effect. Music comes on, lights engulf me and the tears flowed. It was quite the experience that'll never forget. Truly incredible and brilliant execution of music. I'm an old guy too!
I could play this game after the funniest, most non-serious event of my life and still get to Metamorphosis wanting to just cry. This music is some of the most amazing, beautiful, and moving sound humans have ever and will ever make
The soundtrack of this game was arguably what helped it catch attention. The visuals are astounding but the way they match and sell the music is just a next level experience. Being able to take such a simple game as tetris and sell it as an emotional experience takes so much skill and vision.
After hours of playtime and listening to every track multiple times in the game, is really emotional to listen the full version of each. Never think Connected would make me cry once again. Thank you soo much, Hydelic.
We didn't deserve this, we didn't need this, yet here we are. I'm truly grateful for being part of the Tetris community. Keep burning those lines! And always have an amazing time!
I can't tell you just how many times I've cried listening to these songs. Sometimes I can't even play the game, I just sit there and sob. Yours Forever just slaps the soul yknow.
@Hydelic When I first played this game while working promotions for the Playstation VR, I was going through an incredibly difficult time in my personal life. As exciting as it is to play this game as a standalone without the music, as a creative person myself, I was mesmerized by the creativity you put forth, and somehow it perfectly complements the logic elements of this game. This game was music therapy and healing through sound for me. The music, melodies, soundscapes, vocals and lyrics touched my heart and started healing it in a way I never thought possible. The lyric that had such a profound effect on me was in "Always Been But Never Dreamed" "What could you be afraid if I'm right here with you?... Show me what you are made of 'cause I'm always with you." Thank you for your creativity and hard work.
God damn...I teared up when hearing Deserted while playing the game, but now hearing Lunar Discourse in it's entirety without having to focus on anything else really has made me cry for no real reason.
Mizuguchi san taste of music NEVER disappointed me. I trust him totally and this soundtrack is EPIC. I play games for almost 40 years, I can easily recognize when something like this is very special. Can't wait and see what is the "next" step.
I remember the first time I got my hands on this game. The progression of getting better and better felt so satisfying, but most of all this soundtrack was absolute banger after banger. I have never listened to the full songs by themselves so I look forward to listening to this over and over again. Music hasn't made me feel so strongly as this has made me feel.
This never ever fails to make me stop what I’m doing and reflect in my life. It makes me happy, sad, joy, frustration, it is a perfect soundtrack for a phenomenal game.
I love this game, its visuals, and music. I play it almost every night to calm my soul. It's so embracing. My only wish was that they added the Effect Mode music. I love the track "Inside"
10/10 a very solid soundtrack. I just wished that the remix of Korobeiniki (Tetris Theme Song) got into the track list as well. That would have been great to listen to it in high-quality stereo outside of the game.
@@hershelwidget The 1989 level plays the tetris theme song and can be unlocked when you reach level 50 I think. I dont exactly remember how I unlocked it.
I've been seeing all around how great this game is. Since I enjoy Tetris, I decided to not look at reviews, trailers or gameplay videos and get it blindly. I was sure all the blurb was just hype, there's no way Tetris could be more than just… Tetris. But it is. I just bought the game yesterday and I'm amazed with what they did.
This soundtrack is INCREDIBLE! Between this and Rez Infinite's Area X soundtrack I've found myself motivated to give creation a shot once more. I wish there was a Hydelic instrument pack I could use in a DAW!
Dude, this whole soundtrack is a masterpiece, but unfold, that song is something else man. It really speaks to me in a way music rarely does. I've been going through a lot lately and that song is like therapy. Thanks so much for the great tunes! Just bought the album
Anyone else cry after their first full playthrough of the entire game (the one where you get the special zones at the end). Surely it can't be just me. This soundtrack f*cked me up hard core in a good way. Also, @hydelic, wheres the 3 hour dlc expansion pack? :D
Tetris Effect really killed it. never thought i could play the same game with compeltely different and also multiple flavours. this game is clearly made with love. Thank you guys.
I cannot express how well this entire soundtrack played out to the visuals and the block movements in Tetris Effect. Just an overall outstanding production. The music just pulls you in for a total immersive experience.
I love how much range this has. It can be so emotionally powerful, like with Connected and World of Colors... But then you have stuff that just is straight up music you can dance to, like City Lights. You guys knocked it out of the park, oh my god.
At 1:22:35 the build up chains sounds very similar to the pre-chorus buildup at 0:45 of the ILLENIUM/Tom Delonge (AVA) collab, Paper Thin (even more so with earbuds) 🤔 I know this came first over two years ago. Maybe you and the game influenced them 😛 This game and soundtrack are amazing. I always get a little choked up at the end of the credits after a full play though of the journey. Thank you so much for putting the soundtrack up here.
Thank you for such a masterful score/soundtrack. Ever since I was 2 years old in 1999, Tertris has held an extremely special place in my heart. Tetris was my first ever video game. I can remember endless hours glued to my Dad's orginal GameBoy, falling into Tetromino bliss.I This game recaptured that wonder; Thank you :)
This is the first game I bought with my ps5 cause my wife loves Tetris but hates everything else about gaming. Haha. Playing this has like real emotional impacts. the sound effects, music and visuals are just gorgeous. Thanks for posting this.
I was in love with this game until the flabberghasting difficulty spike in the final part of one of the songs (the ritual one or w/e.) The game puts you in such a zen, ok this stage puts you in a little bit of dread...suddenly it speeds up x3 and there goes my concentration. And yes, this was on "easy" mode. Yeah, I'm just a casual Tetris player that hasn't played it since the Game Boy, but good lord, I just can't embrace it as Tetris when I'm being suddenly thrusted. It's a game about zen, not panic.
I know what you mean...push through. You'll love the game even more once you beat that, believe me the struggle is a part of the experience. And don't forget that "zone" thing, it's a life saver
All of it is Absolutely Awesome! Especially "Look Up", "You & I", "Moments", "Like Never Before", "Always Been But Never Dreamed", "Morning Star and "Mind Echoes"
Thank you for sharing the whole album , just bought it at Bandcamp ! HEADPHONES highly recommended ; there's a ridiculous amount of stereo panning and sound layers ( more layered than the in game soundtrack ) that makes this OST SO GOOD !!!
I just started playing the game a few days ago, and was blown away by the music. Before I knew it I had tears in my eyes. I rarely ever cry, let alone from music, and when I wasn't in an emotional state to begin with. This artist is incredible, and this is far the best soundtrack I've heard to a game, as well as some of the best music I've ever heard.
Never felt anything so ethereal until playing VR Tetris effect incorporating this celestial music.....Tetris and the deep sea.....it couldn't be more divine for me! Thanks to everyone for your talents. Design.....music..... Vocals..... Simply Superb! ✨🙏🏻🌈✨🐬🌊🐋✨
Honestly I was shocked in mystical contemplation the first time I played Tetris Effect. I didn't expect that. An undoubtful masterpiece, audio-visual vote: 12/10!! ❤ There are no words to describe the incredible music work you did! It's a full 360° experience.
Finally I can buy these from somewhere! Especially "always been but never dreamed" which is not available in the Tetris Effect DLC for some reason. Thank you so much!
Been playing so many Tetris games through my whole life, Tetris Effect is hands down, one of the best. It quickly positioned itself on my top 3 personal list. Tetris Effect, The New Tetris (Nintendo 64), and Tetris the Grand Master 3 are my personal top 3
I play this to fall asleep every night and it hasn't failed. Thank you for creating one of the chillest soundtrack that goes so well with one of the most visually stunning games I've ever played!
This has become my go-to choice for working music. Well, the whole soundtrack is composed to blend into the background so it's born to be a perfect fit for that lol
Yeah...I got an OLED Switch...so I got this game for the Switch after playing the PC version. My first videogame was Tetris, on the GameBoy, so I congratulated myself for how poetic that was. The Switch version compares to the PC version like an N64 game to a Switch game. It's fucking sad and embarrassing. So I guess I'm saying never play the PC version, it'll ruin the Switch one for ya.
My favorite song is easily Mind Echoes. The rest of the soundtrack is beautiful, but it's just the fact that someone managed to make a song that sounds like it came straight out of a TGM game.
I wonder if the world would accept a Tetris Effect movie...Imagine a Fantasia-style IMAX epic with this soundtrack pumping through movie speakers. Would've been one amazing experience.
Bless you Hydelic for your amazing work, and also uploading this, especially during this dire time we are all in. Tetris effect has made me cry many times, and I never ever would have expected that simply from....tetris, haha. xD
