Living in between 2 New Holland dealers. I've experienced 2 different trains of thought. Bought My first compact tractor in 2000 from dealer on north south of Me. In their pre delivery set up they set hydro pressure a little over 1800 psi so tractors will preform as they say they will. I traded the first tractor for the same size in 2003 the last year of the tc series. From dealer on south side of Me. They reduce pressure to 1400-1500 psi. So tractors won't break anything. After a year of operating it at lower pressure I called dealer up north and asked them to increase it up around 1800. They set it at 1850. It was like buying a new tractor! The hydraulic hose are rated for 2200 psi. I found the weak spot. The fiber gasket in the center of the hydro transmission. At 3900 hrs. they replaced it with a metal gasket. I plow My almost 2000' road with it with a Meyers 605' snow plow. Nice setup for the weight of the tractor.As always Keep on tractoring!

From what I've seen is that it looks like getting to 2000 psi should make a huge difference. A lot of others have done it without having any issues. I'm looking forward to experiencing the same differences you did like I'm getting a whole new machine. Thanks for watching! Keep on tractoring!

I live in Ontario Canada and have a BX 2380! I have also been watching a lot of videos on lift capacity! Recently reviewed the video on the new BX Hydraulic lift arms from Hydro plus! I think it is just what i am looking for. Just subscribed to your channel to watch these series of videos to help me decide if i want to go this route!!!! Awesome and looking forward to it!!!!!!!!!

I just sold my Bobcat CT1021 and factory it came in at around 1650psi. I upped mine to 2400psi and ran it for 200+ hours with no issues. I heard the lines are rated to 3000psi. I have since went to the next size up Bobcat. Will probably increase it as well ......

Thanks for doing this, Jon. I’ve always been curious about the hydro pressure on my B2601. I have always felt that it may be tuned down. 😐

You might need to get yourself a gauge and see where you're at with you loader psi. Keep on tractoring!

Hello there Jon!! This is an interesting test your conducting. I know with my Massey Ferguson, when the loader is low it can make a lift that it can't when the loader is higher. So maybe the spec given is an average of what the bucket can lift. The results of your tests are going to be fun to watch!! Take care!!

I’m liking this Jon, I’m surprised by that number too. I think my BX that I had was on the strong side, it would on occasionally lift the back tires🫨. Cheers see you tonight! 😊🌴👍🏼🚜

Very interested in your tests. I bought my BX23s in 2018 and have no complaints, it has done everything I have asked it to do. I have run into the loader limits on a few occasions, but before 2018 my main equipment was a shovel, pick, and wheelborrow, which I performed 90 percent of the work around my little 2 acres. I do a little help work for others in the area and I have a can on my tractor for donations. I just may be able to upgrade my cylinders to help the loader. In regards to the can, I prefer an honest handshake to $.

As a quick guide, the loader model # for kubota is its lift capacity in kg so a 340 or 344 loader should be in the neighborhood of 750 lbs at the pins. I believe max psi per the wsm is 1850. You could also check that with no attachment on the loader as your weight will be different with a grapple vs a bucket. I am currently running 2200 psi on a bx1500 for roughly 600 hours and 2050 psi in a bx1880 without any issues so far. Rear ballast is always something i could use more of 😂

The operators guide gives weight capacity at different heights and lower height or just off the ground is I think 1000 lbs but drops off the higher you go

I'm assuming that the book spec is loader only (no SSQA adapter and no SSQA implement)? If so, then add the weight of the bucket and the SSQA adapter weight you measured on the crane scale since you were lifting both of those items at the time, right?. That gets you to 1000 lbs at the pins, way more than the book spec. It would be interesting to see the same test minus at least the bucket to confirm. I did a side by side Massey GC vs BX video and one of the most interesting comments I got from viewers was that the BX has a curved loader boom which sticks out pretty far in the front, so PSI being equal between different brands, the curved boom is going to loose out in lift capacity or at least that's what the commenters seemed to think.

My 1025r was 1900 psi from factory. It's much better at 2300 now. If you add the H+ loader cylinders, your going to gain nearly a foot of max lift height. I'm jealous of that feature.

I couldn't even lift a 550lb tiller with front loader if bucket was attached with my BX23S, w/o bucket it could but only to about 3 ft off the ground. Stock form, it is very weak, recommend putting chain at a height that would mimic loading into a trailer and see what it says for lift capacity. Great info, I upgraded to L2501 due to loader capacity issues. Love your videos, keep them up.

if i remeber right the max pressure is 1950psi according to the book get some shims and set the pressure relief to that to play it safe. theres guys that are running way more than that and havent blow up anything and have close to 1000hrs on there bx now. also your only picking up 880lbs at the bucket hinge itll be quite a bit less if you had the scale attached to the end of the bucket which is wat youd really be doing if you were using the tractor normally and thats what your used to

Good stuff Jon. I expect your readings are accurate and your theory is correct that the loader lift specs apply to full height. You might try the same test with a longer chain to test this? Look forward to episode 2! 👍

Good Morning Sir, Yes I agree about the Kubota and Mahindra as promoted very strongly that ( Lift More Capacity )👌😇👍💪 Now The Question Sir, do you want realy want that increase lifiting capacity ??? 🤔🤔 Think about the front tires extra load on them, the front differential weight on it ,,,, 🤔🤔 Better Be safe ( not causing structural damage like what happen to Ed when It bent is FEL !!! ) or premature wear out the hydraulic pump 🤔 Thank You Sir for this TRULY OUTSTANDING INFORMATIVE SERIE VIDEOS SIR Cheers 👍👍😇😇👌👌🍻🍻

I want just enough to not break anything but enough to make the machine a little more capable because I think there is room for improvement. I'll probably learn the hard way and break something and then we'll all learn from my mistake. 😂😂 Keep on tractoring!

@brianhillis3701

You would not be surprised at the results if you had seen the videos I have seen. Full height makes a huge difference. Most people rarely use the full height unless dumping into a truck or trailer. As long as you specify what you are doing and dont compare it with a different measurement you are okay. The geometry of the loader has a lot to do with it. To reach higher you lose capacity using the same hydraulics. Some tractors with high capacity and high lift heights are superior in that application. They may also be more prone to tipping over. Designers all work with the same physics so they consider the trade offs. Just need to find the one that matches your needs and know what you are gaining and losing. That is why buy the biggest tractor you can afford is so common. A bigger tractor will lift more, pull more and be more stable. It will shrink your wallet and be less maneuverable,not fit in the same space and weight may be an adverse problem. Good luck with your improvements.
@ritterjon
@ritterjon 10 месяцев назад
Thanks for the comment and I agree. The trade offs are a concern. I certainly don't want to end up breaking anything. I think getting to 2000 psi would be a good place to end up and then we'll see how the tractor performs. Keep on tractoring!

I did my own testing using pavers. I dont remember all the details it was a few months ago but after bumping my pressure to 2000psi i was able to lift close to 1000 lbs in the bucket about 100-150lbs more than before shimming
@ritterjon
@ritterjon 10 месяцев назад
That's what I would like to accomplish as well. I'm got something more than just shims to achieve that however. Stay tuned! Keep on tractoring!

I suspect the Factory rates there equipment lower than actual to avoid legal problems. I am happy with stock so far. But this is a fun exercise as long as it's not my equipment. Thanks

After buying 4 acres in beautiful NH I traded in my trusty BX for a new 2023 B-2601 , with brush hog , pallet forks , and trailer painted Kubota Orange . I feel I outgrew my BX and needed to upgrade . I’m gonna add the Curtis Cab option soon. The lift capacity of the B-2601 suits me better . Gonna add a grapple soon for logs .

you CAN lift much more than the recommended weight, but it is not recommended... also your test at MAX RPM would show greater results than the factory test that I think was done at either 32000 or 23000 rpm, my dyslectic/lazy ass doesn't feel like looking up right now. but based on the parameters you tested at, you got what I would assume were proper results, I would likely not want to exceed the manufacturer limits as they take more than just hydraulic power into account. like frame strength.
