All in a day's work, the great effort Dan had to go through to find a small but persistent Hydraulic Oil Leak on a Terex Track Drive Loader.
First
Safely lift and support the machine off the ground with the tracks clear.
you will need Heavy Duty Stands and Hydraulic Jacks.
(a Forklift with strong lifting slings will also Help)
Second
Loosen track drive tensioner,
Third
Remove the two front-mounted Track Guide rollers and remove the track (a large Crowbar will be an advantage here)
Forth
Carefully start and drive the machine to operate the track drive motor and sprocket/cage assembly until the leak is Identified.
In this case it was an O ring on an 90 degree adaptor that screwed into the Drive Motors Housing.
IMPORTANT As Dan had gone to a lot of work to access and identify the leak we disconected all the hoses (ORFS fittings) replaced all O rings in hose fittings as well as removed all adaptors and replaced all O rings as well.
