HYDRAULIC PRESS VS VARIOUS TYPES OF WOOD 

I knew that one of the ebony woods would be the hardest one to break. Because I use it myself in guitar making.

The only one you didn't use for a test like this was Hickory. There's a reason we make Hammer handles and and other handles from Hickory. It's harder to break

I thought you would crush the wood, not bend and break it.

Looks like ironwood would be the best wood for boat building..I had to cut it once, saw sparks coming from the saw blade....

how in the world did you forget redwood? isn't that the hardest wood or do you think that will break the press?

The short grain on the Sandalwood made for an unfavourable sample.

Would it have made a difference if the wood was soaked and fully saturated with water?

The red sandal wood (pterocarpus sandalinus) does not look like the real one. It looks like a scrap piece of Pterocarpus tinctorius.

I don't think that's ironwood I think that is zebra wood
