My homemade hydraulic vise in the end has a new pump and manometer. I bought the pump a couple months ago but I never have time to attach it. Lately, I've made a new workbench which you can see in this video and I also decided to attach the pump to my vice.

I make the same mistake with teflon tape. I do it wrong all the time. And, like you, I get a partial unwrapping as I wind the fittings together. And, like you, my stuff STILL WORKS JUST FINE. Good job!

well....we know where all the teflon tape went! :) Nice work. I never liked the hand pump, this really finishes the custom vise nicely. It just makes sense. The only thing now is to plumb a separate pedal on the floor for up and down so you don't have to lean all the way in for retraction of the ram. I'll shut up now, nice job and love your videos!!!!!

Personally I would have mounted the pressure gauge on a mount at the rear of the bench so that you could see it better and less chance of it getting bashed .
