fact: if the outside weather is say 80 degrees like he said, if the vehicle was in a spot where sunlight directly hit it it, the temperature inside the vehicle would roughly have been 20 degrees higher inside of the vehicle in the first hour ANOTHER FACT: The misinterpretation of say parents on a mild sunny day saying that they're going to the grocery store and going to leave their child in the car with the window cracked can leave infants with severe brain damage in the first 30 minutes... Cars are moving ovens
@F14Goose37
@F14Goose37 8 лет назад
Fact. 100 degrees is child's play. I grew up in AZ where it reaches 120+ every summer. I lived in Bahrain where it gets hotter than that. In central California where I live now, 100+ is standard all summer. The point is I would love to live someplace where 80 is a warm day again. Also, if it is 125 outside and it is 20 degrees hotter in the car, and I have to get in the car wearing body armor......yup. I'd still kill for 80 being considered a warm day.

@kantill
@kantill 8 лет назад
+Son of a Zombie since the lid doesn't come with a hydro flask and they both take the same size lid you just buy the lid and put it on the fifty fifty bottle. Like I said the two companies are husband and wife owned only they got a divorce hence the name fifty fifty, she got half of his stuff. Same quality but considering that hydroflask isn't made in the USA just a USA company same as fifty fifty. The big thing that hydroflask has over fifty fifty is options, like the lid or sizes and colors. Fifty fifty only has a few colors and sizes. But here my story with mine. I filled my bottle with ice and water and I have had keep the ice for over 24 hours more than once.

Vacuum bottles are the greatest invention in the world. In the winter time you put hot coco in and sure enough it's hot when you drink it. In the summer time you put cold tea in and sure enough it's cold when you drink it. How does the bottle know whether or not to keep it hot or cold? Amazing.
@FngSSG23
@FngSSG23 8 лет назад
Technically the bottle is whatever temperature of the fluid you put in it. There's just an outer material shield around it that prevents ambient temperatures from changing it.

Think the bugs are due to the slowing down the water on the land and the things that would eat them not moving in yet. Once you get some fish in the ponds you make it will cut down the larva stage of the pests. Find out what the native fish should be and pickup some young ones to stock the water just remember to stock by the amount of stored water not the flow. Goldfish/Koi are fine for in a pond away from river/stream access but as you are on a creek you want to stick with native fish. The other thing is more bat houses as you are increasing the food for them they will need more spots to sleep. Wasps/Hornets also will reduce the pest population but most dont want them around.

I love this water bottle. I have an orange one. I've accidentally dropped it several times from 4+ feet in the air and it is still great. I once filled it with water and about 8 ice cubes, and took it with me in my car. I accidentally left it in there for either 3 or 4 days right before the middle of summer (75+ degree days so my car got really hot) and there was still some ice in the water! Great bottle!

it's 40 oz....1 gallon = about 3.8 liter....about 32 oz in 1 liter...so your bottle is about 1.18 liters, which is about 1/3rd of a gallon...and btw liter is a U.S. measurement.....litre is a metric measurement...and they are not equal...

alpha numeric 3/16" radius straw, 2" radius thermos estimates, yeah that's 1:114 or roughly when I did it in my head 1% circumference ratio. Or roughly 2% with inside of straw too. It'd actually be less, if so, because I didn't take into account the floor or top of the thermos, and the inside of the straw is smaller.

I had a spouted stainless bottle years ago but it almost killed me one fine spring day. please make sure you guys buy a test tube brush somewhere, (home brewer kit or a paint supply store) and run the brush w/ hot soap & water through it. no matter how careful you are, there is always backwash from your mouth every time you drink. If left or simply washed in a sink, said spit (containing DNA) will grow into a naaasty mold that might take you out. The bottle is GREAT!!! (Keeps liquid liquid in minus 25 degrees too)

40oz, 1.1 liter Costco has something similar. Takeya ThermoFlask. It has a wide mouth lid with an integral smaller lid on a hinge pin. Use the large lid to fill with ice and the small lid to drink from. It costs $35.00 for a two pack. It works so well that the ice seems to take forever to melt. Today was my first day to use it. Tomorrow, I will fill only half full of ice then top it off with water. I was raised the same way, to drink plenty of fluids. Now with ESRD and on dialysis, I can have only 1 liter in a 24 hour period.

Quick fix for those bugs: Buy a cheap garden solar lantern with LED's that you normally stick in the ground. Deconstruct the lantern and hang the solar lamp with solar cell on a long piece of concrete rebarb and hang it over your fish and or frog pond, about an inch above the water surface and the fish and frogs will fix the problem for you.

I looked up the price of it after the first couple of minutes and it did seem a little steep. I'm glad I watched until the end though, now that I know that there is a portal to a different dimension inside that allows it to hold 40 litres of water I think it's a bargain. In all seriousness though I bought a no name brand, 18oz, vacuum insulated stainless water bottle for 12 Canadian Dollars, that's a third of the price of the 18oz Hydro Flask.

They make cups too. I visited my brother one time and he wanted to show me how crazy it was. We were barbecuing and she poured a ice cold beer in it. After probably 5 hours IN the sun, a took a sip of it and it was still ice cold. Amazing cups!

1 liter of water is roughly 1 kg of weight. So 40 liters would be 40 kilograms of weight. I am guessing the bottle you are holding contains about 1 liter of water. Metric is the best :D because it is logical. :)

Hi! IMO like a knife and flashlights.. buy in bright color not black! Something I've been highly opinionated about... what good is a camo knife or flash light?? Both stay in your pocket, and if you drop you can't find! Got mine in lime green today at REI. Great product! I know I will be using this!

Dang 40 liters? That's an insanely small Flask for 40 liters. That Hydro Flask must be able to fold space and time! Send me the link for that amazing Flask please.

I tried one a couple of years ago. Yeah they keep the water cold, but i go through that much water in 3 hours when working in the Texas Sun. And if you don't clean it every day the water starts to taste FUNKY. so it was a Waste of forty dollars for me.

It's Dr. Who's Tardis water bottle. Or, maybe it's actually made by Acme Corporation. They must have found a way to put a bottom in there portable hole.

I work next to a wirtgen w-2000 milling machine. The machine gets hot in the summer, extremely hot. This is the only water bottle that I have ever owned that can keep water cold while hanging on the machine. my only complaint is the brittle ass lid I bought 2 extras for my lunch box.

40 litres? haha....no. All my long trips would be solved if this was truly a tardis of water bottles. it is not too hard to fact check this. I constantly have to convert Lb and Oz into Kg and g and L and Ml.

Dear Cody, Is there a way for those of outside the US (The UK for example) to buy these on Amazon and still support you in the same way as the US subscribers can?
@sirbriandmiddleton

They are 400ml. Metric is easy if it is all you use, problem comes when you mix metric/imperial/af etc..as we do here in the UK and increasingly the US does.

Hydroflask also has an alternate lid, HydroFlip, a flip-top opening for easy access. No straw so no hassles with a straw and nicer for hot liquids. They claim they are not leak proof but I keep mine upside down in my cars drink carrier (cause they are toooo darn big for a normal car drink holder) and have leaked in several months. The lid will sweat however when upside down. Mine flask is dented and looks bad now but still work fine.

Nice product, I can even get it here in NL. (@ bever sport), but not the straw cap, which is a pity. Still might get one for my bicycle bidon holder, if it fits. BTW. the conversion confusion made me giggle, too.

Wranglerstar finally discovered the joy of owning a thermos. Your grandpa probably owned one and it crazy how its taken so long for the Chinese to flood the market with affordable wide mouth thermos.

Hey, straws were invented by men to drink beer. It was a tool to get through the thick head so you could take a good pull and not have a foam stache. Love the bottles btw. U threw all my old ones out and stocked up with 64-17oz double walled.

Why would they make it black though? White makes much more sense. I'm probably overlooking something I guess.

i use a Klean Kanteen 40 oz. It's only single wall but I can use it in a fire if i need to heat anything. It's wide mouth similar to a Nalgene wide mouth. I replaced the top with a Humangear wide mouth top. The opening is small enough that spillage is minimal. You might try that so you can get rid of the straw. I don't sip my water I gussel it. So a straw won't do. Hope this suggestion helps with your straw problem

Drinking out of straws especially if it's sugary drinks, Is alot better for your teeth. If it's water then it obviously don't matter. But i know alot of people that even drink sugary drinks everyday and if they use a straw it might save them alot of problems at the dentist.

Meh, overpriced and since they sold out to the overseas corporation, they're no longer the same. Hydroflask used to be local, used to be available through mom & pop stores - no longer. Just one more corporate sellout. You can get a comparable flask for less than half the price.

The hydro flask company also provides you with a lifetime warranty. If yours ever quits keeping things cold then shoot them an email and mail it to them. They should send you a new one fairly quickly
