Welcome to my Adoption and Rescue vlog. I share with you my day on adopting out hamsters at the Rescue while driving around to rescue in need of hamsters. I had a surprise situation where my rescue was contacted about special needs hamsters that Petco refuses to address and give them medical attention. We do not step in to these situations unless it's critical.
Because Brachy/Hydro hamsters do not survive without proper diets and vet care, they are sold to unsuspecting owners being told they have, by the pet stores words, "Cosmetic imperfections" when this is in fact a crippling disease. We have 3 already at the rescue, 2 of which were from unsuspecting pet parents. Because they didn't know what their hamster had, the hamsters were underweight, broken/missing teeth and in bad shape from not being able to eat solid foods. It's now our mission to help educate the public and pet stores about these special needs hamsters and now accept Brachy hamsters at our rescue, to seek proper medical attention right away.
