I just picked up a hydro flask 32oz trail before for my 1 bag trip to Belize. It’s been a great 1 bag travel bottle, especially for my bag which has a small water bottle sleeve. Was searching around for a slim ~1 liter bottle and this checked all the boxes.

I suspect the insulation difference will be more pronounced over a shorter period of time. I'd be interested in seeing the same temperature test over 2 and 4 hour timespans (which is likely the most frequent timing of use) rather than overnight...

Seems like a good test, and yes probably it would make more of a difference in the short term. Unless there is a difference in construction, or thickness of the vacuum layer between these 2 models, I don't suspect the thickness of the material used would make much of a difference in insulation.

Good review! I've gone with the RAB Low Alpine soft flask I picked up 1/2 price on sale. Just came back from a trip and I'm still getting used to holding a non-solid water container.

That's a nice looking bottle, I only have a few soft bottles, Vapur and the Hydrapak. Some leakage on a few but overall they work well and pack down small. My biggest problem with collapsible bottles is I keep losing them, I swear I've gone through 3 Vapur bottles in almost as many years.

@@OneBagTravels It's good so far. Slight rubbery taste to the water that I hope will pass soon. Just attach one of those big chunky 90's style belt chains to your water bottle. Sure it may add some serious weight to your gear but you won't lose your water bottle! 😅

I wasn’t too impressed with it. In my experience, it only kept the water as cold as I hoped for a couple hours. I really like having ice cold water, so I went back to my old heavy water bottle. If that wasn’t a concern, I’d just go for one of those vapur bottles that rolls up when empty

Makes sense, I wouldn't expect this to keep water ice cold for more than a few hours.
