Automated hydroponics greenhouse factory for the commercial production of lettuce and other leafy greens. Novel technology developed in Israel and the UK. With 30 years of experience.
It began well before that. In 1860, Professor Julius von Sachs published the first standard formula for a nutrient solution. Modern nutrient theory/composition is attributed to Hoagland (1919) The birth of modern hydroponics is usually attributed to Dr.Gericke's application of hydroponics His methods were adopted by he US Armed forces, which built several large hydroponics farms on non-arable islands in the Pacific in the early 1940s, Ascension Island, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
esta interesante la forma como lo manejan en su distribución de control de calidad en el sistema de hydroponics a la vista parece fácil pero tiene su tiempo me encanto verlo quiero saber massss
I would like to know all about it. Your website doesn't have the info I need. I want to know its cost, building time and other details about the project. Thanks.
I JUST got five world vision videos stating that they have just started today June 27 2013 on Phase two with a 20,000 new refuge camp they where digging hole for the sewer tanks and toilets sheds on top IF TALKS START NOW with only even FIVE Green Houses contacted some of the sewer lines for nitrates /nutrition from the grey water
Hydroponics is an effective system but it also have some drawback, you will need to purchase some "plant food", nutrition and supplements which may be costly. Before setting up any hydroponics system, you have to think about the benefit of aquaponics system, which could automate 95% of work.
actually aquaponics is more or less not useful. THousands of growers have tried it but it totally limits you to not being able to optimize the nutrients buy building up the blocks you need and not being able to use any organic or inorganic pest controls because you will kill the fish. Aquaponic gunk will build up in your lines and its not profitable. If it was there would be huge aggrobusinesses using the model. Alas its great for the home grower with a need for fish and some space.
Tawanda Niccolls: What is now the actuall drawback? That u need nutrients(which u need in anyway)or that there are no fish in the water? What do u feed the fish?Sallad?
Greg Espey The basic idea of these technologies are that pest controls with chemicals will not be needed, water and air are easier to desinfect than soil. In a modern factory the water and air are desinfected by UVC and Ozon.
Though contested, many people espouse the notion that we must maintain a predominantly alkaline stomach/gut environment versus an acidic environment. It's said an alkaline environment is inhospitable to viruses/bacteria/fungi/parasites. The same people then state that vegetables such as iceberg lettuce, though lacking in vitamin and mineral nutrition, are nonetheless beneficial as they alkalize your body. It is stated that if we eat a lot of alkalizing foods versus acidic foods (fried cheese, sugar soda etc., being 'acidic' foods) our immune systems would then be much relieved of unnecessarily strenuous digestive duties and more able to focus on promoting our immune system response. That is, a healthy gut is more alkaline than acidic promoting proper absorbtion of nutrients and not ladden down with processing acidic/sugary (starchy?) food - we would have the body focus and energy resources for healthy immunity as well as fending off viruses/bacteria/fungi/parasites. By the time we are 30 we harbor many parasites, generally. If Iceberg lettuce is beneficial, then are hydroponics a solution? The fish tank/hydroponic approach is neat, maybe if tiny robots cleaned the filter lines? I like the large warehouses, even underground bunkers solar powered (as we more effectively learn to transcribe sunlight to stored battery power). However, pumping 'solution' never seemed right to me as a way to make a real healthy diner salad plant.
God bless the Israelis, there’s a reason there the size of NJ and they are feared by many! Even Egypt faced the consequences of trying to fight Israel. Go Israel, From the USA!
What is the cost of constructing and maintaining such factory and can automation be applied to the harvesting process (in other words can human labour be eliminated from the production process entirely)?
Looks like almost any modern greenhouse, yall say its FULLY AUTOMATED, but yall show a guy transferring plants from a first growth board to second growth. Thought i had found a high tech newer greenhouse but this looks like anything that was new 20 years ago.
Do you ever run into aphid problems with your greenhouses? if so do you have any recommendations as what what type of pesticide can be used as a systemic or effectively as a foliage spray?
Well this isn't the most economic solution for that issue. The infrastructure and capital cost makes it far more economic to ship food to refuges at this time. Besides you'd need thousands of these to feed all the starving refuges, and I doubt they have ramped up their production that much yet. Still though this system does offer solution for getting rid of long term famine issues.
What is the size of the greenhouse? How much does this system cost? Is it scalable? I have so many questions. Will you provide me some sort of info pack. Thanks.
Cheers for the video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Patlarny Gardening Expert Principle (do a google search)? It is a great one off guide for learning how to expand your produce with the clever art of aquaponics without the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my close friend Aubrey after a lifetime of fighting got astronomical results with it.
Novel technology? Hydroponics is a few hundred years old . Automated greenhouse systems where developed somewhere in the sixties,in the Netherlands.Putting two known technologies together is NOT a novel technology.
Not completely true. Aquaponics depends on commercial fish food, which comes primarily from non-sustainable sources. Extracting nitrogen from the atomosphere by the Haber-Bosch process provides nitrates (from ammonia)for hydropnics. Other trace minerals can be added. With aquaponics, commercial feeds typically come from oceanic fishes = unsustainable.
Hi, my friend and i are planning to start a hydroponics NFT indoor farm and the market we will be supplying uses iceberg lettuce (80%) so they are somehow forcing us to explore it. can you please share with me any information you have on this topic ? Many thanks
You sir have no honor! This technology was first conceived by educated charity working agriculture engineers in order to relieve starvation on crisis zones and you have made minor changes, claimed the idea as your own and decided to turn a profit on it. Sickening! Barbaric!
if someone went to the UAE and ask for %50 and then ask the local Gov. the other %50 for set up and one year operation cost to feed their own people The International red cross would find Volunteers to help run it even there was some lost to the program the Promotional of feeding the Masses with the backing of World Vision and IRC on both sides of the World Would be great
