Hi Warren, watching the right Track .. When you stand on the right track break pedal and take yer foot Off the pedal, the track seams to be slow to move.. I Think there is a leaking internal seal in the drive hub.. Stick with it ... Love the vids ... Andy UK ..

Warren, Do you keep any Benadryl on the truck in case you have a reaction to the wasps? I did know I had a problem until I got zapped by 5-7 of them at one time. It is a funky feeling and paying attention to driving when you are way out in the country side.

I would check for pump ,valve/ bearing plate schoring. I've seen a lot of servo piston scouring and just polish them up and run them. That's a lot of work to get to that point! Probably need to reseat the shaft seals before reassembly there a mechanical seal.

Warren, I worked on a lot of mowers back in the 70s and 80s that used Sundstrand split system motor and pumps. Smaller pumps and motors but they work the same way. One way to tell if you have a leaking hydraulic motor is to put that side under a load and see how quickly the motor starts to heat up. If you are bypassing a lot of oil you will build heat very quickly. You can also use a slightly thicker hydraulic oil to make the system operate better and not rebuild the pumps/motor. A good 30 wt motor oil would work just as good and you would get more life out of the system after it is worn.

We got two guys that's been on unemployment and food stamps, going fishing and living easy life from my work. I do hvac for a living and we can get the boxes indoor coils come in, but not the coils. So we have been installing just the box and telling customers we will get them going when we get the coils. And people still believe this is all from bat soup.

Good work , I used to do a lot of hydro's on commercial ztr mowers , hydro gear , I would get kit, swash plate , piston pump, ,ect , usually scratches you could see , bit if you changed fluid on time and filters they would last ..even the low end ones .. I had seperate wheel motors , from pumps, when they failed , I tore them down , never found a scratch even... Was strange , danfoss and hydro gear ...

No sense in busting your ass. Getting parts for things is a dadgum nightmare in the automotive world right now. It took me almost a month to get an alternator for a Nissan Maxima. I could’ve found a POS “reman” for it but those alternators are a royal pain in the ass to replace. Five hours labor is break-even time on one. Not doing it twice so I waited for a genuine Nissan unit.

From the last vid on this incase you missed it Warren, and again may be well off track with this 😂 Is there a brake valve Warren? Seen something about brake valve directs transmission charge pressure oil to release brakes and close transmission bypass, if it drops below 100psi the valve will direct parking brake pressure to sump. Just when you said something changed....brake pedal pressed maybe? Adjustment needed there as well?....might be way off track here Warren 🤣👍

I hear ya: I'm working on my truck tractor for 4 weeks on and off resulting in not much progress to show for it because I keep stepping on my woohoo and having to redo 80% of what I have already accomplished because of misremembering torque specifications. So getting whipped is not just physical but it's also mental morale. I would take the aching back and scratched and cut knuckles if I could complete a task any day of the week because my mind will win over body and the aches will become good aches and not in vain.

You can "pressure wash" till you run out of water, and it won't be clean. ZEP degreaser soak at least one hour (a cut plastic drum is great) or even a gallon jug of Ultra Dawn dish detergent & water. Then STEAM clean it. Those units are an investment, just like your truck and tools. Get a decent diesel fired unit. You'll be amazed at the results. You must first use a degreaser. Water, at any temperature or pressure- merely sits on top of, or pushes globs around. Water will not emulsify the oil. A surfactant breaks the surface tension (bond) of the petroleum.

I hate to biased and negative. Here in Georgia, these deere 750 and 850 dozers of this type have a bad rap. I can find them for sale for next to nothing. So many bad stories. Always heard the transmission setup was unreliable and a mess. If a person was an expert mechanic on these type dozers…would they be of good use and value? What is the story on these machines of this era? Thanks
@raymondquave4070

These 750 j d dozers are pure junk I own one there's always hydrostatic problems and oil leaks and expensive parts poor design period,, most of the time you have run them direct drive bypassing the controll valve,, a lot of the time the motor servos are sticking,, a mechanical nightmare not accessible to repair easly you can't rebuild it junk it an buy a new motor 10 k or more

Good dozer, but you're into the same problems many owners have with that machine. The grit from the band and friction wear circulates through the pump works and scores up the pistons, and ruins the seals. You really need to tear down the whole drive body to get it resolved. I know it's a drag, but right now you are just fixing consequential damage, not the source. That unit should be able to kick into counter rotation mode with that much apply pressure.

Not sure if you can put me in the right direction but I have a jd 1987 550b dozer. I just removed the selector valve, replaced the seals for the shifting spools as one was leaking bad. Put it all back together, no more leak and works great. Replaced and adjusted ball joints and linkages for shifting. Shifts great. Started it today and moved it 3’ and that was it. Forward, reverse 1, 2, 3, gears. Nothing! Where do I start to look. Transmission pump???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Great Video... People keep saying there is no help but they are only for experienced help.. There may be a lot of folks like me out there that just need Someone who is willing to train and mold you into what need... But the Government and all their bureaucracy have made it where a Guy can't just take on a guy and train him they have pay this fee and that fee for licenses and bullshit like that so that probably why people aren't willing to a shot at training someone in a new trade.

😕 I was kind of hoping to get a hydrostatic drive Dozer someday. My aunt had a hydrostatic drive Bolens Husky with a Wisconsin 12 horsepower engine back in the 70s. It was always nice not to have to mess with the throttle to change ground speeds and to keep the RPM's up when using a mower or tiller.

Where would you recommend getting a e-manual or a copy of a service manual for a 1977 John Deere 750 dozer. Dozer tracks straight forward but wants to turn a little in reverse. Also you have to correct forward and reverse as you go back to neutral as it will still pull if you don’t go a little past neutral either direction going forward or reverse. Thinking it’s in the control valve you put gaskets on, but not sure.
