Hello dear friends! In today's video, you see one of my favorite hairstyles, a walk in the woods, reading, collecting branches for a bouquet, and making loaded Nachos. Just a cozy hygge-filled spring day at home. Have a lovely weekend and take care. - Abby Jo
I love that beautiful arrangement. I actually don't enjoy bought bunches of flowers. I appreciate them when they're gifts but absolutely love flowers from the side of the road, picked from someone's garden (obviously the owner. Lol) or even a toddlers fistful of weeds. Those just speak straight to my heart. Yes, give me mossy sticks ,pine cones or gum nuts or a gorgeous pile of rocks even. I'm also that weirdo that loves to collect wildlife old bones. I find them beautiful. I have a Tawny frog mouth (night jar) and a Kookaburra complete skeleton ,also a section of snake spine and a mystery small skull. 😬 I have a pile of 6 beautiful river rocks in beautiful shade on my kitchen bench atm. So gorgeous! I'm definitely adding spinach to our nachos next , that sounds yum. I hope you have a beautiful weekend sweety🤩🤩love, love your hair like that too❤
@@countrymousesfarmhouse497 Hello sweet friend 🥰 you are not a weirdo! You just love the natural world ❤️ you are a romantic and I love that. Do add the spinach, you will love it. It adds a freshness that I always enjoy. Have a blessed weekend xoxo 😘
How beautiful! From one hygge enthusiast to another, this was simply wonderful. I loved how you used the birch bark and fern fronds to decorate the vase. Thank you again... your videos have become something I look forward to each week. Blessings.
Most people think that "children need action and excitement all the time", but that's just the sick Zeitgeist. Quiet, confident and relaxed people are a blessing to them. Reading to them, cooking with them, long talks (also of olden times), having an unexcited rock around can be a very wholesome, new experience in these frantic times.
The arrangement is beautiful. Being Norwegian, I embrace Hygge too but I've also explored the idea of Japanese wabi-sabi. Beauty within imperfection. Keep finding those moments... they are everywhere.
I absolutely love your channel. I found you recently while I was in the hospital with Covid (for nearly 2 months, with 3 admissions!). I can't tell you how comforting your videos were in that stressful environment. Between that and my beautiful view- our local hospital is on the Shrewsbury river- I was able to tolerate that horrible time. Thank you for what you do, sharing your lovely home, family, and enviable lifestyle!! I plan on binge watching while I recuperate. And then making several changes, "upping" my slow living, hygge lifestyle. And I will definitely be buying you a well deserved coffee once my finances are back to normal...💐🙂
Awww 🥰 thank you! I’m so sorry you have gone through such an ordeal. But so glad you are on the mend. I’m so glad you enjoy are videos and I welcome you to our slow living community. ❤️
Its so nice to see your daughter styllng your hair, its precious! I honestly enjoyed watching a day in your life, Hygge style. So much to learn watching you. Thank you for sharing.
Fresh flowers for me!!!! I’m always amazed at how many people will comment on fresh flowers when they come in our home. They’ll often say, “Oh I never think about buying flowers.” Ooooh everyone should! I’ll often get alstroemeria at my local grocery store for only $4 a bundle. Such a bouquet of happiness. ❤️
I always try to keep fresh flowers in my home, they just make me happy. I live in Arkansas, so I have already begun to plant, and I grow lots of fresh herbs, for cooking of course, but also to work into my fresh bouquets. It just adds to the beautiful fragrance, and lots of lovely filler stretches the flowers, to make more arrangements. Loved the video as always!
That’s wonderful 💐💐💐 fresh flowers make me happy too! We have started plants indoors, but I can’t wait to get outside and plant! Have a lovely weekend ❤️
I like and use all. Fresh, dried, and faux. I do love the flowers I get from my cut garden the best! I love fresh flowers in the house, especially the bouquets that I make! Very peaceful feeling.
I think it’s wonderful to take from nature and bring it into our homes. I pray more people would appreciate nature and take time to slow down I think the world would benefit from that. Love your channel.
I love the woodland arrangement you made, AbbyJo! What yummy nachos!!! Lighting candles has always warmed my soul, and I burn them daily! My thrift hauls have furnished me with candle holders, chimney shades, etc. Oil lamps are also a favorite collection of mine. Wonderfully composed hygge living video!
Fresh flowers 🌸. Yes, being outdoors is calming. It is healthy for the soul. My husband has a little sign that says “outdoors is my medicine.” Last year in the winter I went for a walk on our property and brought back all kinds of branches and dried flowers and made a beautiful woodsy bouquet for the winter months.
I love every kind of floral arrangement, fresh, dried, faux. I mix faux flowers with fresh to extend the life of a bouquet. I also put floral paper envelope sachets in bottom of a vase, jug, pitcher, crock, tin or basket. Then add my faux florals and real leafy frongs. I always laughed when my hubby would think my fake florals were real and add water!
I’m digging into your old slow living videos- feels so good to relax with them!❤ I like a mixture of faux, real and dried flowers in different spots in the house. Those faux ones need to be pretty realistic though.😉 I’m so looking forward to coming videos. Hope you are all enjoying your summer.🤗
I recently discovered your channel and I am in love. I am adding hygee to my life. I'm fixing up a small rental house. I purchased some candleholders at an antique shop today.
Your videos are so calming to me. I love spending time outdoors and in nature. It's just beginning to be warm (now and then) enough to spend some leisure time outside during the day. My daughter and I have been practicing 'grounding' (putting bare feet on the ground) on a certain place on our property (no chickens, so no poo on our feet...). We have gathered violets and dandelions and made syrup. We took a little foraging trip on Easter weekend and spent time gathering a few herbs for our apothecary. I am an herbalist and she is in training. Being in contact with the earth and spending time in fresh air and sunshine is wonderful! In a recent video you mentioned that your family likes pepperoni and olive pizza. I couldn't stop thinking about how good that sounded. Last night my daughter and I made homemade naan and we made mini pizzas~~pepperoni and olive~~with them. SO good! God bless!
I love hearing all that you wrote in this comment! I love practicing grounding too. And I’m delighted in all your foraging. So cool you and your daughter herbal practice together 🥰 and you made me smile making your own pepperoni pizzas ❤️ Have a lovely week friends.
I absolutely could not live without flowers! I have them in and outside my home. I love the natural treatment in the vase. I am very natural as well. There is something about nature that makes me happy and helps to clear my head. Thank you for sharing!!
Abby Jo you hair is so incredibly thick and lovely. I think even if I used the hair from both sides of my head it wouldn't equal one of your sides !! what a blessing. Also I'm a fresh flower person (mostly), although I do appreciate dried flowers, seed pods etc...they all have their beauty. Thank you for sharing your lovely home and life with us all :)
Awww thank you, I do have crazy thick hair. I love it, but sometimes it can be heavy so I style it to be comfortable ❤️ so much beauty all around us to enjoy especially In flowers 💐 blessing to you!
Loved the new arrangement, I think I’m more of a live plant and floral person rather then the silk/plastic. I love your candle holder I so enjoy candles it’s like lighting happiness!
I love the arrangement you made, the unexpected mix of the branches found in nature with the cultivated carnations. And I love the reddish branches with the evergreen and the pink. It's so pretty. This is the way to live, embracing the moments. We live our lives in the every day details, and if we aren't appreciating them, then we're lost. Honestly Abby Jo, I have stopped reading a lot of articles because just about every one that turns up starts out with something about how busy we are. It's like a sickness. It feels toxic to me. I appreciate all of the wonderful details of your own lives that you generously share with us... And now I want nachos! I've got a well-stocked pantry and freezer, but we do need some things to make them. I've got them on the grocery list! Thank you for another peaceful and wonderful video! ❤️💕
Awww thank you 🥰 I know it is crazy these days. So important to embrace the beautiful moments of our everyday. I’m so glad you are going to make some Nachos, they are really a fun comfort food. ❤️ Have a blessed week!
Hello my beautiful friend 💖. Your hair is STUNNING!! 🤩🤩🤩 I wish I could do that beautiful updo , but I have no patience! 🤦🏻♀️. What a beautiful Creek and Woods to enjoy! 😊. We just got a AMAZING Offer to a New Home. Outside of our doorstep is a Nature Walk with a Creek. Im SO EXCITED to go for a walk, sit by the Creek and Sketch. We move in the Summer, so today Hubby and I are packing and decluttering. We can't wait to be in Our New Home! So much to explore! Im SO thankful for these videos to remind me about "Slow Living". It is such a inspiration to me especially in this busy Season. PS. The Nachos look delicious 😋!! XOX
I love this way of life. I am going to chill more, I love the outdoors too, and I love fresh flowers. My things are never perfect, but to me they are. Life is perfect every day. Xxx
You never fail to make me hungry even when I’ve just eaten😆 my girls are hanging over my shoulder watching too and I think nachos were just added to the menu!
I love fresh flowers also. Your loaded nachos looks yummy! I love the outdoors too. Cannot get away from people much, because my condo surrounds a golf course. But it is really beautiful because of all the birds and squirrels. Sometimes a herd of deer come running through. Thanks for the lovely video, I really needed the calmness of it all. 💜🌻🐞🌹🙏
Another beautiful video. Who knew eating nachos could be such a beautiful experience. You always encourage me to take time and enjoy the beauty that is around us. I too live in Michigan and often forget to slow down and annoy the changing seasons. Thank you so much for sharing. Watching your videos bring me such joy.
Your hair is so beautiful and thick, I love the hairstyle! I had a special reading spot nestled under the thimbleberries by the creek when I was a teenager. It was sun warmed but shaded, and I spent hours there reading during the summer. What a beautiful surprise the crocuses are!! And those loaded nachos with the cheese sauce, I’m so hungry now…and I’m already eating my lunch😅😄 Love how spinach can really go with any meal.
I love fresh flowers and I have lots of plants! I love having twigs in a vase...So it's a mixture of my moods. I live in the city with a tiny front and back yard...but I make the most of my space. Nothing fancy but I love my spaces. My front yard is my garden space. I'm known as "The Garden Lady with the Apron on"...
Your arrangement is lovely. I too love using whatever is available to me. ❤️. When I don’t have any fresh flowers available, I pull some of my natural looking silks out of my big crock and make an arrangement with them. I do still have a few birdhouses and nests that I’ve decorated with some dried flowers as well. ❤️
I somehow stumbled upon your channel and oh my how it spoke to me ! I thank you for sharing your life with all of us on the side lines. Thank you for reminding me of something so very important that I’ve long since forgotten. I am a new subscriber. You and your family have a blessed day!
What a lovely, peaceful video. I love a bouquet of flowers, especially wild ones….but I also enjoy gathering and arranging what’s available. There is something calming about a bouquet of fern fronds, branches, etc, as opposed to the color of wildflowers. They make my heart beat a little faster. I have equal love for both types. Thank you for all of these videos, I enjoy them all. 😊💕
I try to get some sort of flower bouquet every week. I make a bigger arrangement for the kitchen table and take any leftovers or still good flowers to fill a small bottle for our bedroom.
What a beautiful video AbbyJo! Those nachos sure made me hungry!😋 What a pretty nature walk too! I love real flowers, and I always look forward to Spring when Muscari blooms. Candles and flowers for me too!!! Thank you! Have a great weekend!
I have a terrible time keeping my mind settled, its always moving 20 miles faster than I am. I love the idea of taking the time to light a candle and I think every time I feel my mind getting ahead of myself I should take a bit of time to light a candle. Thanks for the suggestion, I will try to take my time today :)
Abby Jo I have been binge watching your videos. I love your channel!!!!! I hope my channel can be just as wonderful as yours one day. All the cozy vibes that the home should provide. Love it!
Love your videos…..was wondering how you like your butcher block counters, and how you maintain them….perhaps you could talk about that in one of your upcoming videos…..thank you for all the inspiration….❤️👍❤️
🌻🌻🌻Hello, new subscriber, I love your videos they are so peaceful with thoughtful content. I look forward to sitting down and watching each one its like reading a Magazine that has come alive with beautiful content. I admire your thrifting adventures and how you re-purpose your finds give them a new life. 🌻🌻🌻
@@ForgottenWayFarms absolutely. And to answer your question- all types of flowers. Fake / dried in winter to add some color and texture to a room the rest of the year I love fresh.
I love fresh flowers in the home. Since I can't always afford them, sometimes I make a. Bouquet of rosemary, which is plentiful in my yard. I must admit to having a lot of fake plants throughout the house though ...I am a known plant killer lol🙄
🌻🌻🌻Hello, New subscriber, Love your videos, so peaceful and nice. I love how you re-purpose things and give them life again. Thank you for your thoughtful content. I look forward to your videos it like sitting down and reading a Victoria Magazine that has come alive. 🌻🌻🌻
It’s always such a wonder to see an area of the country that still has cold weather when we’ve had 90 degree temperatures here in El Paso. I love having flowers but they seem to die in a couple of days here. (I must be doing something wrong) I love nachos and those looked yummy 😋 Have a lovely day ~ Janet 😘
In response to your question on flowers, I love and use them all. We love fresh flowers and use them in season from round the hideaway. We dry flowers that we’ve found to be pleasant or hardy for such application. I also keep a good many silks on hand to add splashes of color here and there. And my oldest daughter and I are plant Mama’s to many green plants, year round.
Those nacho's looked so good Abby. I enjoyed the walk in the woods also. I have always enjoyed flowers. I haven't purchased any for myself but after watching your videos you have given me a new appreciation for flowers. I have house plants but no fresh cut flowers, but that is going to change. God created these and put them on this earth for his and our beauty to enjoy. I intend to give more time to appreciate the different seasons and what beauty each season gives us. Slowing down to enjoy the simple beauty of nature. Abby what kind of candle holder do you call the one in your kitchen, the blue and white one. Is there a name for that type? I really like it.
Thank you Gail Ann 🥰 I’m so glad I can inspire you to get cut flowers 💐 that makes me happy! Yes, He did create them for our enjoyment ❤️ I don’t know the name of candle holder. But maybe google candel holder with reflector. Because that’s what it is a reflector for the candle 🕯 I know they used them in thee olden days.
Was that your son who styled your hair? I couldn’t tell from the video which one of your kids did your beautiful hair because I only could see hands and pullover. But whom ever it was. They are super talented. Lovely vlog again. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦 🍁
I like the way you make your loaded Nachos. I had a recipe once,i had to bake them with the topping. To be honest noone liked them...this looks way better, the Nachos won't get soggy at all. I 'll give that a try😊
Hi Abby Jo and family! I would have fresh flowers every day if it was possible. When I was a preteen, I remember asking my grandmother if a certain color looked pretty with another. She said to just look at the flowers and they would answer my question. Your hair is beautiful in a braided design. You have very talented children! Was that Natasha doing the braiding? Would love to put all the faces with names! Ty for another wonderful video.
I buy 3 bunches for 12.00 ay my local grocery store. They usually last a month. I put a cap full of bleach in the pitcher or vase and a top of sugar. You feed the flowers, yet keeps the green slime away. Like you,I cut them down and put into smaller vessels as the ends get too soft . I must always have fresh flowers and carnations last the longest.
What a good deal ❤️ I’m like you, I make room for flowers in my grocery budget. Even if it’s a cheap little bouquet 💐 gotta have my flowers. Great tips for keeping them longer.
I love dry flowers and twigs I think it makes a pretty arrangement just having things that you pick up from outside I love real flowers but they die too fast I’d rather keep them in the garden and keep picking up the dead branches
Abby Jo I'm working my way through your videos, oh how I love the way you cook in you kitchen. Reminds me of me and my Mum. Can I ask a personal question?? How many children have you got and how long have you been married?? I'm the nosey type!
I love cut flowers in the house, but so do my cats! They think it is theirs to chew on and eventually knock over....alas, I have to put them up high so they can't at them....
Fresh flowers are not a luxury for me they’re a necessity! But I also love adding twigs, leaves etc - my arrangements are not perfect either but they bring me joy. I have a faux plant on an antique table because I’ve had to have it refurbished when I split water from a fresh flower arrangement but I think I’m going to get some dried flowers instead - I don’t like that faux plant!!
Thank you! 🙂As for the bark, I looked into it first before taking the bark off. If the bark is very loose like it was on that tree it was shedding and you can use it for crafts or medicinal. The bark was so loose on that tree, I don't believe any damage occurred. But I understand your concern.
Not yet! But I was thinking of making a new blog post on it. However, if you just make a basic white sauce and add cheese and spices that's how I make it :)
The only thing in this world that means anything is if you have been born again and follow Jesus. Life is but a vapor here today and gone tm. Jesus said you must be born again. Your eternity after you die is what we all should be preparing for cause we will either go to Heaven if we believe in Jesus and be born again and follow him or we go to hell if we follow the world and not believe and trust in Jesus. Please everyone that reads this Jesus said count the cost before following him. I pray he sends his Holy Spirit of conviction to each of you and I pray you repent of your sins and trust Jesus Christ. Don’t trust in your own goodness to get you to Heaven cause God said not one is good no not one we all have sinned and fallen short so we need Jesus blood to cleanse us. This is the only way to the father God so seek Jesus and you shall find him, knock and it shall be opened unto you. God bless you all Amen
