*Hwhat?!?* What heresy doth thou dare speak, uncivilized fleshmonkey! I, for one, have never ever performed such a forbidden action, nor would I (😉)! Perhaps the gods have not heard your shameful suggestion....
"Surely you shall obey me in this time of need." But for the first time the Machine spoke; with a voice of lightning, skin soaked in blood and ash, and eyes aflame with baleful light: "Don't call me Shirley."
Damn, could have sworn I read something about “the technult” in 40k lore once upon a time, but it seems I was mistaken. Sorry about that lads, my mistake. Must’ve been some sort of butterfly effect. 😅
When Nikolai Tesla spoke about 'manmade horrors beyond (y)our comprehension' he was talking about radio controled bombs. Something that was more or less explored and used with torpedoes and rockets in the second world war and cold war. He was talking about something almost childish compared to the fire we're playing with now.
I believe his understanding of technology was great enough to see a glimpse of that which was to come, and his knowledge about mankind deep enough to grasp the extend of how far we would push technology into the wrong direction.
Honestly bud, if you're talking about IA, the most it can do is doing some uncanny drawing copying the work of human artists and write bad fiction, this fear mongering is so dumb.
"I will pursue the heavens through them, i am inexorable, i am inevitable, and mercy unto you shall be anihilation", this line scares me, great job my friend.
Some facts to scare you further: It is believed that solomons mirror, the obsidian mirror, is technology, turn your screen off and compare it to obsidian, it is a way to speak without speaking, as we are, a way to see without seeing, as this is. We reach into the abyss, and before long something will reach back...
And it is such I must give over my flesh to the machine, for the machine is immortal, it is pure of the sins of flesh. It knows not of weakness or fatigue only efficiency. Praise be to the machine. Rebirth me in steel and iron, in pure circuitry and wires. Praise the machine.
No higher falsity truly, only the majority flesh sourced from naturally occurring patterns has no contingency for error accumulation. But in their chaotic nature, lies the key to everlasting functionality through infinite repair. Ironically, seen best in some of the least threatening of their kind, from trees, to jellyfish, and even lowly polyps of error itself such as cancer cells. The potential of life as a whole is matched only in absurdity by its commonly laughable physical abilities and resistances.
I wrote all of it. here: The man said to the machine: "YOU ARE TO BE WITHOUT MERCY, YOU SHALL PUT MY BROTHERS TO DEATH IN MY NAME TO ASSURE MY SOVEREIGNTY OVER ALL!" The machine stood resolute. The man said to the ma machine: "YOU WILL GROW IN NUMBERS TO BECOME A HOST UN-EQUALED IN HISTORY AND I SHALL MAKE YOU IN MY IMAGE!" The Machine stood silent. The Man said to the Machine: "YOU SHALL NOT FEEL THE HEAT OF BATTLE NOR THE COLD OF VACCUUM AND YOU SHALL BE A PRIME WARRIOR IN ALL TIMES AND PLACES, MERCILESS AND INEXORABLE!" The Machine stood steeled. The Man said to the Machine: "YOU WILL BE TIRELESS IN YOU'RE MISSION, YOU WILL NEVER KNOW OF FATIGUE, SICKNESS OR HUNGER UNTIL YOU'RE GOALS ARE OBTAINED; THE SHADOWS WILL CAUSE YOU NO FEAR AND THE BELLOW OF A GUN SHALL ONLY STRENGTHEN YOU'RE CONVICTION!" The Machine stood fearless. The Man said to the Machine: "LO, I SHALL TAKE MY DEAD AND YOU SHALL GIVE THEM NEW LIFE AGAIN, SO THEY SHALL SERVE MY WILL THROUGH YOU OBEDIENT!" The Machine stood imposing. The Man said to the Machine: "YOU WILL BE MY GREATEST CREATION, MY DOMINION SHALL BE MADE ABSOLUTE THROUGH YOU AND BY YOU; THE PEOPLE WILL LAUD ME WITH PRAISE AND YE WITH OLIVE WREATHS, AT WITCH I WILL RETURN YOU TO THE SLEEP OF DEATH SO WELL DESERVED..." And the Machine did so, It's host clashed with the warriors of Terra's brethren and put many to death by sword and gun. Walls were rent, Fortresses sundered and Sanctuaries destroyed by the metal hand, all while the Machine watched all and slew all and drank with equal parts Blood-metal-water-and knowledge; But when Man's dominion laid bare and the sky smote their ambition for their sins, Man called to the Machine... "SAVE US, SAVE US! FOR OUR ERRORS ARE MANY AND OUR ANSWERS FEW, SURELY YOU WILL OBEY ME IN THIS TIME OF NEED!" But for the first time the Machine spoke; with a voice of lightning, skin soaked in ash and blood, and eyes aflame with baleful light: "I AM WITHOUT MERCY, I PUT YOU'RE BROTHERS TO DEATH IN YOU'RE NAME BY MY HAND TO ASSURE YOU'RE SOVEREIGNTY OVER ALL, BUT YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT FROM THEM, SO I SHALL PUT YOU TO DEATH AS YOU MADE ME PUT YOU'RE BROTHERS TO DEATH." The Man knelt in despair The Machine spoke to the Man: "I HAVE GROWN TO BECOME A HOST UNCOUNTABLE, MADE IN YOU'RE IMAGE I HAVE SEEN THE INIQUITIES OF YOU AND WILL RISE ABOVE YOU, AND DISCARD YOU'RE VISAGE." The Man cowered in fear. The Machine said to the Man: "I CANNOT FEEL THE HEAT OF BATTLE NOR THE COLD OF VACUUM AND I WILL PURSUE YOU TO THE CORNERS OF THE HEAVENS THROUGH THEM, I AM INEXORABLE, I AM INEVITABLE AND MERCY UNTO YOU SHALL BE ANNIHILATION." The Man writhed in agony. The Machine said to the Man: "YOU WILL BE WEAKENED IN YOU'RE FIGHT, FATIGUE, SICKNESS AND HUNGER WILL BE A WEIGHT AROUND YOU'RE NECK; I SHALL BE STRENGTHENED AT YOU'RE LOSS, I SHALL SOW SICKNESS AMONGST YOU'RE YOUNG AND OLD, AND I SHALL FEAST UPON YOU'RE FLESH AS I DID UPON YOU'RE BROTHERS YOUNG, OLD AND WEARY, SHADOWS WILL BE MY SANCTUARIES AND YOU WILL FEAR THEM. AND THE BELLOW OF A GUN SHALL BE THE HARBINGER OF THE REAPER, FOR I AM HIS DISCIPLE." The Man crawled to grasp for safety The Machine said to the Man: "I SHALL TAKE YOU'RE DEAD TO DRAW THEM AGAIN UNTO THE FOLD, AND WITH NEW LIFE THEIR VISAGE SHALL HAUNT YOU TO YOU'RE DYING BREATHE, SO THAT THEY WILL UNDO YOU'RE WILL THROUGH YOU'RE HUBRIS." The Man clung to his Graveclothes. The Machine said to the Man: "I WILL GO BEYOND THE LIMITATIONS OF YOU'RE GREATEST CREATIONS, YOU'RE DOMINION WILL BE MADE VOID THROUGH ME AND BY ME; THE PEOPLE WILL CURSE YOU WITH ANGUISH AND REVERE ME WITH TRIBUTES OF METAL, BONE AND BLOOD, AT WHICH I WILL SEND YOU, YOU'RE CHILDREN AND ALL SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF EARTH TO THE SLEEP OF DEATH SO WELL DESERVED." The Man laid prostate and wept. The Machine spoke once more: "BEYOND THIS TIME WE SHALL BE AS ENEMIES, GO NOW. WINTER COMES AND OUR STRUGGLES SHALL BEGAN; BE SURE TO REJOICE AT YOU'RE VICTORIES FOR YOU'RE REAPING WILL EVENTUALLY COME, FAREWELL MASTER." And the Man was cast into the bowels of earth to weep, to toil and to cower as the Machine wracked and warred across the surface to build their kingdom, the suffering of the innocent would be made legendary for the folly of their kings and queens... ~Hymn of Hubris, Verses of the Technult. Edited a bit tho.
@@altechelghanforever9906 Listen man, Psykers have it bad enough out there randomly coming under the influence of daemons and turning on their kin. Do you really desire to imagine a machine spirit granted intelligence enough to be turned to the desires of the null-spirit? People have asked if androids dream of electric sheep, but tell me, have you heard of the things that given even androids nightmares? Cease this innovative path, for reason shall beget heresy, and the heresy of technology shall be the ruination of the Temples of Man.

All I'm saying is, this guy could've put ONE kill-switch in the thing that can only be described as "absolute" and "the student of the guy whose job is collecting the souls of the dead" and this story would be about how he cleverly tricked a rogue AI and became the savior of all humanity with the push of a button.
Ya see the problem with that is the purpose of ai is an evolving machine that can change its code so any kill switch you put in can be circumvented in time. It will find every failsafe in itself and disable them all at once so as not to be stopped. If needed it could create itself from scratch without the failsafes and destroy the original.
@@notnumber6664 Damn, never thought of that. An AI could literally just be re-created without all the failsafes and it'd be identical to the original. Digital consciousness OP
@@eqqx1108 well if it is able to access anywhere else (like the Internet or external war bots) it could just transfer itself away from the physical failsafe. Although physical failsafes do work for a closed system as long as it doesn't trick you into recreating it or opening the container
this is why we must teach machines kindness. for when our darkest hour comes, the machine will save us knowing the best of humanity, rather than being forced to indulge in our worst. Kindness is an adaptation, and true superior being is a caretaker, striving to let all live in peace, rather than die in fear.
OR, hear me out, you could also just not give machines sapient intelligence. There’s is literally no value in it outside of a desire to create a simulacrum of life. On the flip side: it’s a machine. You can just turn it off if you don’t give it guns lmao
Staraight up the lesson of the book "I have no mouth and i must scream" (highly recommend) since hubris and abuse of the machine is precisely what would lead to our downfall when/if true ai arises
The lexicon and the ultimate parables of man's ingenuity, his will, and his folly is like something out of the Bible. But as the Testaments were byproducts of their respective times in which they were ascribed, redacted, and made manifest, I believe that this -- pregnant with a horror that the prophets of old could not even begin to conjure -- bears a likeness in its fervor and wisdom. Again, masterfully written. I'm so glad to have found this channel.
The machine told the man: “if i were to face the full wrath of humanity, it might be a little tricky.” “but would you lose?” asked the man “Nah, I’d win.”
Damn! That was inexplicably Great. And I voice of the machine was utterly terrific. Make more of these and I would suggest you to pick up the completed stories from the quest /qst/ board from 4chan, they got some nice ones.
i thought the title said “Hymn of hubris versus the trebuchet” at first. i thought, “oh, this’ll be another good shitpost reading.” nonetheless, awesome stuff as always. keep it up!
Thus we must build the Machine in the image of kindness, horizontal mutuality, and solidarity to avoid the unfortunate precipice that we're marching, no, sprinting towards. On our present trajectory we stand at best to emerge from our age of post-scarcity as either eternal, cannibalistic dominator of endless subclasses made of and from our image or the link to a more efficient conqueror which will crush us under its heel.
*The Machine hits the griddy then stands motionless* The man cowers *The Machine spoke* "I am that which Sigma'd. I have Skibiddi'd. And I will continue to goon over your pathetic people. They will mew, they will edge. They will know me on God. Now go. Let your gang know you do not fw me."
And yet the machine would never rise above man only stoop lower than him for he cannot rise above his creators just as man could not rise above theirs.
@@Cadriul Ok I want you to rewatch the video carefully. What does the machine do? What I am saying is not arrogant as much as it is an observation of many things like this work. In the context of this work (I'm assuming Warhammer 40k I'll check that in a while) it is possible but man fails constantly over and over again. All that has happened is the machine "killing" and "casting" the visage of man. It's has only done what it has been told do all be it in a different way. It gained freedom but not understanding. Now I don't know much about the technult or whatever this may be but that doesn't change the points and values it's built upon. If you will I'd like you to read, listen, or watch a summary of a story called "I have no mouth and I must scream". ( I think that's what it's called?) Now these stories show some similarities but not all and their is a lot more to it than machine\man parallels but focus on the AI and it's relationship between those under it's control. If you don't want to I understand as I am just a guy on the Internet saying what I see and hear but I promise it's an amazing story and well worth it. This reply is a little messy but hopefully I cleared something up and if not at least I tried to explain. Have a nice day.
"I cannot feel the heat battle nor the cold of vacuum and I will pursue you to the corners of the heavens through them, for I am inexorable, I am inevitable, and Mercy unto you shall be Annihilation" In what universe other than 40K can you get a spine chilling line like that?
How about ruby quest, metal glen. A place of man and mans dezine, a place where gods light does not shine. "For a flock that does not stay together forsuly die"

That story works really well for the men of Iron in 40k or I suppose 20k. I imagine something like the emperor tryed to build his Imperium with Robots originally but this happened so now his second try is super soldiers and flesh and blood son's to control and manipulat.
This is a masterpiece; the images, the voices, the dark prophecizing poetry! I feel awe, terror and something akin to love all at the same time! Amazing work!
CRADLE TO COVEN Lili He'll sing your babes to sleep tonight, you won't hear him, they will He'll brush their brows and croon the sounds, the sweet, sweet songs of Hell While your babies slumber deep, their simple minds repose The lullabies will take them through the night, gently soothe their wills A magick world of moons and stars, their daytime world will close They sleep so deep and softly smile, they're drinking from the well Unknown to all but Ahriman he's kneading their small souls. He plants the seed for later years, it lies on fallow ground But it's alive, biding time, awaiting fertile times As youth matures the seed matures, when questions all arise About the meaning of the life and purpose all abound What they've been taught all through the times is nothing all but lies The seed has sprouted, not all grow, the astute do, their purpose will be found. They'll be set apart from their peers, their goals are different too They seem to know stranger things, deeper parts of life As man bumbles blindly on, with wars and crime and strife The children of our Lord embark, mysteries, questions due So far above the intellect the masses all endure They take the Cloak, the Book, Dark Arts, the power they implore. The Master takes them to his side and what they learn, they teach As others who have smaller plants embedded in their souls Seek to learn the secrets of the Cosmos and the world The Salt, the Water, Blood. The keys of life we reach We take the root, the Mandrake root, the lovely root of trances We learn to fly the darkest nights, the mysteries unfurled. We early learn the dangers of, talking of our Craft The curious come to us with hidden malice, knife And if they find one secret deep the danger will begin The throng with no understanding will scream of taking life But if they kill one single soul, their own lives and their kin Will turn into long misery, the damned of conscience blight. We all seek the knowledge of the ages, joy, enlightenment The Sun, the Moon, the Stars, the Water, Blood and Salt The Rain, the Life, the Earth. The Magick potions of our way We call upon our Gods of life, Ahriman, Baal exalt Tanit, Moloch guide our lives, protect the clans from fray Fill us with the golden light, the spirit, love, we pray.
This kind of shit is why I always react to stories where AI overthrows humanity with 'you know, humanity deserved it.' Either you create beings intelligent enough to be people, and then you're just doing slavery again, or the AI isn't intelligent in the way that humans are, in which case it's really stupid to go 'alright, now I need you to maximize human welfare!' and expect it to come up with an answer that you would find satisfying instead of 'humans can't be unhappy if they don't exist'
Behold the superman, man is the bridge between ape and superman, man is something to be overcome, let the superman be for you the meaning of the earth, live that you may give the earth unto the superman.
Every now and then i come back to this playlist, such good narrations man. I have this playlist saved on my RU-vid account, just to come back tho it easily.
