Some people have the theory that Halicarnassus is Ultamecia...but I'd rather her be Rinoa over Halicarnassus though honestly.

@@Ranixo286 I have never heard of the Halicarnassus = Ultimecia theory. Huh.... I guest they both rule over a floating castle outside of time and space and have big pointy headwear. LOL! But yeah, I agree. In my head canon, Rinoa is Ultimecia. It just gives the story so much more weight in meaning in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing. That is a good data point. Glad I could make it a little interesting! If you every play I Final Fantasy game, I recommend the older ones with the turn based gameplay. Final Fantasy X is a great entry point and the last of the turn based games. I really liked eight (obviously) and everyone likes seven. But six is my absolute favorite in the series.

@@KumaPlays haha six is my best friend's favorite so I'm gonna try that one on GBA. I also have picked up heroes of light and the crystal Chronicles ones if I'm remembering right.

@@tokhote I wish it was easier to play ALL the games. I've been really enjoying games I can check in and out of for short spurts, but I feel like more story-based games and RBGs take more attention, and I need to be ready to commit and play all the way through. I'll keep a lookout for 8 too!

You are totally correct. Rinoa unknowingly gets powers from Edea, but neither of them were aware of that happening. However, that is what allowed Ultimecia to possess Rinoa, so it is relevant to the story. I was trying to keep the video from getting too long. So since she wasn't really aware of receiving Edea's power, I chose to say that her true powers were awakened after the fight with Adel. Great catch!

@@KumaPlays you know I never understood that part of the story with edea not knowing she had passed her powers to rinoa. If I remember right they said she did so because she thought she was going to die... so did she just not know because she was using Para magic due to having the party gf? But that still won't explain her access to her limit break. I wish they would explain that better lol

It is easy to miss this in the story. Dr. Odine created a piece of tech called Junction Machine Ellone. It was based on Ellone's ability to send a person's consciousness back in time. It had been perfected by the distant future era of Ultimecia.

Valid point. And it is totally possible that FFIII's Hein had to do the same skin trick that FFVIII's Hyne pulled. they could be different characters. But I like to think that since Hyne goes missing after ditching his skin in FFVIII, that his skeletal body fled to the world of FFIII. It's my head canon at least.

She would have to be. The sorceress power is incompatible with men for whatever reason.

From the looks of it and how ugly the sorceresses were during time compression after defeating Adel, the powers have the potential of warping your appearance.

Amusingly, the French localization covered that by mentioning she's a hermaphrodite to explain the masculine appearance

Yeah, she covers her nips, and is just magicialy roided out. Sort of like female muscle builders.

I thought she was a man my whole life. Until like, three years ago.
