I second this. You give the absolute best information, explain science so clearly and do such a great job of cutting through the misinformation to make sure we know what's happening with these products. Even if I had the opposite skin type, I'd still watch your channel because you do such a great job reviewing products by explaining what they are good for, rather than just "I don't like it." I think it's your scientist showing!

Omg I have been searching SO MUCH for validation about that DE Azelaic acid cream, I just love it, but as it is £62 pounds (I got it with double discount at £46), I’m obsessing with it, use it day and night, it’s pretty, it’s a ceramide cream, it’s a Azelaic serum, it’s ª salicylic serum, it’s an antioxidant serum, just all in one

I bought that mascara remover on your recommendation and I absolutely love it! My skin hates micellar water so this is a perfect replacement for that. Your skin looks gorgeous in this video (it always looks amazing though!), any chance you can please let us know what you used to make this look? 3 minute Red Light? I could get behind that too. Doing a 10 - 20 minute session really put me off because I could be doing other things with my time.

Its funny that you mentioned the three minute vs ten minute mask. I thought my ten minute LED mask would be no big deal until I started experiencing eye irritation afterwards (strain, increase of floaters, etc ). Now that I need to cover my eyes for ten minutes, I wish I'd have gone with a quicker treatment option!

Hey Alice 😃Love all of the products you showed - I haven't tried all of them, but most are on my list (except for Drunk Elephant - won't go there). "Skin cycling" - I guess I was doing that as well before it had a name - my skin cycling routine is made up fully with "The Ordinary" products - to give my skin a break from my usual or other new products that I love to try. Speaking of new products - I received and I am currently using this at night - the iNNBeauty Project Extreme Cream and I am in love! I can't believe that I hadn't heard of this line before never mind not tried it. I love the texture, thickness and how it looks and feels on my skin - absolutely loving it. You mentioned this product a few videos back - can't remember which one. I do like toner pads, because of the exfoliation that they have - I really have noticed a difference in my skin from using them, but I am also trying many different brands - I actually like the ones I am using from No7 and RoC and of course from one of my favorite brands Pyunkang Yul. I don't know about you, but my night time skin care is my favorite part of the day - I love sleep masks, sheet masks, lip masks and so on, and just the general relaxation of a routine at night. Have a lovely night! Your skin is glowing! ❤❤❤

Hi Alice! Thanks for another awesome video! 🧡 I haven't tried the Isntree onion pads yet, but I would choose them over the toner. The toner has propanediol and the pads and ampoule don't. My skin doesn't always do well with propandiol, esp. if it is high on the ingredient list. Unfortunately, a lot of companies use it and/or reformulate with it.

A mascara remover. That's brilliant. Speaking of LED masks, have you heard of the JOVS 4D laser therapy mask? Besides being pricey, it's got a look reminiscent of the one in Silence of the Lambs. I also remember a video Penn Smith Skincare did talking about LED and acne and how blue light wasn't the only option.

I’m testing the Anua pads with PHA as the exfoliant. I’ve found that my skin is so sensitive that one gentle swipe over my face using the smooth side of the pad is all my skin will tolerate. And once week is all it will handle. But it’s working well for me. My goal is to work up to using mandelic acid and on from there.

My little sister and her best friend get all my hand me down products - things that weren't right for my skin, that didn't give me the results I want, that i don't like the smell of, that I just don't like as much as another product in the category, etc. I gave them the Peach and Lily Lazy Day Toner Pads a while back and they absolutely loved them. They don't get a lot of use out of toners I give them, but when the pad is already there, they love it. They've both had me repurchase* for them multiple times. I told them we're going on a journey now to find another toner pad they like that isn't as expensive. I can understand loving the convenience, but the price on so many of them feels outrageous. The onion ones you use here and the Medicube Zero Pore are the first ones up in the trial! *I buy everything because they don't want to figure out Ulta points or the K-beauty retailers. So I take care of buying, they pay me back and I keep the points and free gifts as payment for my "labor."
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole 3 месяца назад
Haha I love that; it’s a similar arrangement here. It started with just me telling Ara she’s not allowed to buy beauty products herself (because I know where to get the deals), and now it’s slowly extending to all my family members 🤣😂 I have to say with the Isntree: at first I didn’t like how different their pads feel (the pad itself), but it’s grown on me. It’s actually the softest by far!

Was wondering about the mascara remover!! They look so easy to use!! If they get in your eyes, do they make your vision blurry? I use Clio Kill Lash to hold up my lashes, it's waterproof. Otherwise my lashes fall back to straight. The Heimish balm cleanser works very well to remove this mascara. But when I'm not using a cleanser that works very well on waterproof mascara, I tend to use the Missha eye & lip remover. Many blessings!!!💖💖💖

I haven’t gotten it in my eyes (somehow, and I really don’t know how as I’m pretty good at getting stuff into my eyes LOL) maybe it’s because it’s applied directly to the lashes vs the lash line? But yep, love the stuff!!

A humble word of caution for the people who never used tamanu oil. I bought Sioris Barrier cream containing tamanu oil among other very nice ingredients, I didn't test patch and I had a horrible allergic reaction. I use my skincare products on my face, neck, chest and hands up my elbows. So you could imagine the damage that the reaction caused. I had the colour of a perfectly cooked lobster for a few weeks. Mind you, my skin is quite resilient and I have never had any reactions before so this caught me quite off guard. For the people living in Europe I could recommend the British brand Q+A Azelaic Acid serum with four different grain extracts, aloe vera extract and zinc PCA. It's 30 ml for about 12 euro. Unfortunately they do not disclose the percentages of the ingredients but this serum has helped me tremendously battling hormonal acne.

Post and hyperpigmentation is my nemesis. I went to my dermatologist last week and she suggested that I switch from my daily glycolic acid to mandelic acid, specifically naming Sofie Pavitt Mandelic Clearing Serum. That stuff is pricy, but this is only the 4th day using it and both my husband and I noticed my skin looking brighter and smoother. I saw that you recommended the Stratia Soft Touch AHA a while back, so I wonder if it is as good, because it costs about ⅓ of the price.

I agree with you, I LOVE Sulwhasoo’s ginseng concentrate serum (have repurchased a few times now in varying sizes), but I would skip the renewing creams (I’ve tried both the Cream Classic and the regular without retinol). The fragrance in the ginseng serum doesn’t bother me, but something in the creams makes me sneeze and if I put it on too close to bed it makes my eyes itchy 🥴 I also love the Drunk Elephant Azelaic Acid 😅 purchased it in the Sephora sale after using a GENEROUS sample (twice a day for almost three weeks?). I also liked the PC I finished up earlier this year but not as “wow” as DE for me. Waiting to finish up my Peach Slices before I open that up, it just clears my skin up so much better! Though with the price difference, I might try using it less often like you mentioned 😅

So, I've been trying a bunch of stuff and at this point I tried around 10 K-Beauty products. I found something very weird... When western products say "fragrance free", it means no added fragrance and they smell like the chemicals they contain (which I like). When K-Beauty says "fragrance free", it literally has no smell. It smells like water or like nothing. It's as if they added chemicals to neutralize smells lol. Most things smell like something, right?!
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole 3 месяца назад
I do agree lol! I think it’s a few factors going into this. One is that western products do often contain more/higher levels of actives (and helper ingredients such as peptides) - these tend to smell really…not good lol. While k-beauty focuses a lot on plant extracts, which often smell faintly herbal at most. Masking fragrance does exist as well, and often won’t be labeled as “fragrance”. Though I feel I don’t see this quite as much anymore (it was notorious in the past in “unscented” but not fragrance-free products!)
