I got ProPlan HA prescribed for my lab. The vet said that if the food is well tolerated, then my dog would have to eat it for the rest of its life and absolutely nothing else. I find questionable whether my dog could survive on corn and soy as ingredients…

The video had great approach! I figured it out with my dog, and I still do adjusting some supplements, a she is going through cancer, and responds very well for diet change. She lost few KG, and I wish to work out for her some.Would it be possible to make a film about some natural or other supplements?I use some and they work quite good so far. But I am in EU and for sure supply market differs.Thank you.

Hi!! I find your videos really awesome and informative!! Hopefully you can read this and help me out because vets here where I live just keep telling me I'm wrong and giving me the same options and I'm getting frustrated.. Is it possible for a dog to develop a food allergy that she didn't have because of an environmental allergy (to grass)? THAT'S THE MAIN QUESTION IN CASE YOU DON'T WANT TO READ THE WHOLE EXPLANATION BELOW (I hope you do) . . I used to live in a house with a big garden, my dog since little (about 4 months) began itching , licking her paws, loosing hair and the worst, getting bumps (like pimples that popped and bled) on her body.. they told us it was an allergic reaction to food so we gave her different protein types and brands of food until Hill's z/d settled her down... Then even z/d wasn't working, until we moved to an apartment (with no grass), and trying different brands of food again I began feeding her with another one (almost the most basic and cheap, PEDIGREE) and she was doing PERFECT, we lived there for 4 years and not a problem. Then we moved to another house, once again with a lawn (grass and a few trees and plants), after about 10 months she began getting itchy, licking her paws and again those bumps or pimples on her skin, she was eating exactly the same thing, same snacks, everything was just the same... Then with time the reaction became worse, she was getting more and more hives (I saw your other video talking about that)... They prescribed her apoquel (got better for a while then when we quit it and she got back to the same), we gave her prednisone (she got better and after quitting, back to the same), we gave her benadryl (which worked while on prednisone), then we gave her cetirizine (didn't work)... Then we removed all the grass and she didn't get better, we removed the dirt (like a foot tall) covered the surface with a mesh, then filled it with gravel and she didn't get better.. Then we put on top of the gravel artificial grass and she's still not getting better... She no longer licked her paws and she's not itching of loosing hair, but the bumps or pimples got even worse. I'm assuming that she developed a food allergy because of the exposure to grass (that's why she doesn't itch or scratch but keeps having the hives).. Does that makes sense? is it possible? becuse like I said, she was eating and doing the same... The only difference was having a lawn (food allergy appeared), not having a lawn (food allergy disappeared), having a lawn again (food allergy appears)... It's like her body is reacting to EVERYTHING now... We've been like this for almost a year and a half now. I gave her the BARF diet and she got even worse, I had to give her prednisone again, then I gave her home made food (fish, potato, sweet potato and vegetables but she got really slim), so now I'm trying with kibble again (kirkland's salmon and sweet potato).. She's still on prednisone (two weeks now) and she's better but am I right thinking that her her allergic reaction to grass is the problem and that it caused this allergic reaction to food? Or can it be an allergic reaction to something else that I haven't figure out?

My pup who is a rescue is 4.5 months and has been out on purina HA but HATES it! Im looking at ways to implement the same sort of theory but with normal human food - anyway to do this?

I have a Pomeranian who is 1 year old. Unfortunately he has developed non stop itching and has been losing his fur on his back legs. The vet has tested him for thyroids and allergies but they came back negative. Right now the other option my vet told me about is alopecia x or BSD which happens a lot to pomeranians or huskies, this is a disesase where they lose their fur and their skin becomes black. We still dont know for sure this is the problem my dog has. He recommended hydrolized kibble, and I have been giving him that for almost a month with almost no results. I now want to try a raw food diet, but my vet is still insisting on the hydrolized kibble. I really dont know what to do!! :(

I have been really into my dogs nutrition and she's been licking her paws alot. My vet told me to give her a hypoallergenic food and I got so stressed when I saw the ingredients because they really aren't great. This is amazing advice to use it as a tool instead of a life long choice. You have given me hope that I can feed her a good diet and not trigger any paw licking, thankyou. My only question is, I see ads for prebiotic supplements to help itchy paws. Is that ever something you would reccomend?

I came across this video I need help. My dog is so bad of itching skin that she’s making herself bleed. The vet told me switch to Rachel Ray and give her appeal but that’s not working.
