All the practise videos on my channel are great for prolapse symptoms but in this quick flow, we are focusing on just a few poses which target rectocele symptoms, for those days when you need a bit more release. If you have a rectocele, please use lots of different flows / poses for your practise. Take 12 mins for your pelvic floor and enjoy this uplifting sequence of hypopressive exercises with me.
You need to be confident in your hypopressives breath work and foundational practise before trying this video.

Thank you! I appreciate including a flow for rectocele! I’ve been doing hypopressives for two years. Still struggling with expanding ribs instead of flaring them. I really enjoy your cuing.

Lovely routine. After doing the vacuum breath do you take a quick breath in as you release it, before starting again with another normal inhale?

Hi Dawn, so the breath to release can be a rest breath or the first breath of the next cycle of breathing - to blend the breathing cycles and poses together. Either is fine, and it varies on the flows here 💕

Lovely, thank you! Would this help with initiating and/or completing a bowel movement? If not, perhaps there is a sequence you could suggest that would support the elimination process - - often a struggle with rectocole

It's best to breathe through a bowel movement, with your knees higher than your hips (using a stool) and not strain. Doing hypopressives first thing can often help you go too, as it stimulates the bowel 💙

Love all your videos, especially when there is some moving during the breath hold ❤ one question: an instructor told me to activate mula bandha (contract genitals, basically) during the apnea, is that correct?

Hello - so glad you're enjoying the flows! We don't cue a pelvic floor contraction during the apnea - there are quite a lot of different ways of teaching the hypopressives breathwork. If you're doing pelvic floor exercises as part of your routine, you're going to want to do them at a different time as hypopressives initiates an involuntary contraction of the pelvic floor - and we want to lean into that. Hope that's helpful!
