YAAAAAY! Good thinking mentioning the reproductive system cancer family history. Thank goodness you’ve finally had this appointment!

There is a huge difference in socialization, let’s face it. That is also how I am. I relate better with the AFAB experience too.

They told me that having the UL adds like a 90% likelihood of complications. I have decided against it and yet that was my top priority. I want to be safe. Don’t want to spend such a long amount of time b/c of UL and complications. It’s been a hard pillow to swallow.

Standing to pee is like my top reason for doing surgery alongside wanting to look like a natal born male. So for me I need to go through it.

I had UL with Phallo and it was way worth it. Complications are usually just time and maybe some revisions but then you are set for the rest of your life. Can’t tell you how awesome it is to whip it out at urinals or camping.

@@LiamMagan It’s mine, but I can’t move forward knowing that the percentage of complication is so high. It really disturbs me. I’m glad you were able to do that. For me, it’s not about my penis looking cis or me looking so much as a natal born physically. I guess since I’ve been able to do so since I was less than 5 months into T. Thanks for sharing. Glad you were able to do it.

@@tylerelstrom I hear you. That is what pains me. I am in my early 40s and it concerns me. Maybe I’m giving it too much thought. My urologist told me about the high rate of failure with the UL. So, that also weighed in on this decision. He said I could go for UL later on if I wanted. Thanks, Tyler, for sharing and answering. Appreciate it too.

@@patrickrobertson7290 It can vary greatly depending on what surgeon you go with! I went with Dr. Chen and the Buncke clinic. I know a lot of guys who got UL and it didn't fail with them at all. The complication rate when you look on paper is high. HOWEVER, that can mean a lot of things including minor complications. I had a few complications but for me that meant a few recurrent UTI's and also a tiny fistula that closed on it's own after 1 month. It wasn't much at all and now everything works perfect for over a year now. You know what is best for you and what you can handle. I just don't want people to be afraid if it would really help them. The small complications were nothing compared to the results for me personally. I know someone who had a catheter in on and off for a year but again, it ended up being permanently fine after the fix from the surgeon. The phallo groups on facebook are amazing if you aren't in those. Good luck with everything with whatever route you choose!
