Hyundai Genesis Electronic Control Suspension (Air Suspension) System operation Components operations and locations Height sensor calibration Filling air springs/Struts
I have a Hyundai equus and the air ride was a nightmare. Took it out and converted to shocks and springs. Best decision I made. Never have to wonder if my car is going to be 1/2 inch off the ground in the morning any more.
@@702s.studios Just the Equus from the beginning ( 2011) to the end( 2016) of their production run in the United States There may have been some sort of adaptive suspension in the genesis...but not a full on air bag and air strut system like the Equus had
Very helpful. Thank you very much for the video. My question: Where can I find the correct air filling nozzle? I'm still unable to fill the air into the tank. Your answer will be appreciated
Hi there,It’s just a normal inlet valve that you can fit the compressor outlet valve into. Please remember that for adjusting the height, you need a scan tool that is capable of diagnosing the air spring system and also you need a compressor that provides enough pressure as described in the video.
Amazing video thank you sooo much , Could you please tell me if it is possible that the air spring could be spoiled or broken or it is just the air pressure that need to be refilled. Because here in my place they always recommend normal suspension over air suspension even it’s better because they say if air spring is not working it can’t be fixed could you guide me to the right answer to choose which kind of suspension I will choose before buying GENESIS
Hi there, Thanks for your comment and feedback. Technically air spring is way different from the normal suspension and it is not gonna work just as a suspension, but also it enhance the vehicle stability. So, in the air spring systems you have height control (to protect the vehicle while driving off-road and enhancing the aerodynamic in high speed), and it has variable dampening force to improve the stability. Mechanics normally are more confident with the normal suspension repair as it is not that much complicated, but when it comes to the air suspension, it needs deep understanding of the system and electrical troubleshooting skills. Of course it is harder to be repaired, but that's because the system is a new tech to give you more features.
If vehicle height is ok and ECS light is not ON, air Suspension should be ok, noise could be coming from other components, check the brake calibers again if you replaced the brake pads.
@@AutomotiveDiagnosisyes it was the aftermarket brake pads making the noise. Another question please: is there a procedure that I can do before I lift the vehicle, to prevent it from sagging when putting it back down?
Thanks Genesis coming in tow tibe off suspension normal and air suspension If the air suspension damage possible to convert the air suspension to normal since genesis normally coming with normal suspension
Hi there, from mechanical point of view it’s possible, but this system has an ECM which is connected to other control units via high speed can (C-CAN), so if shocks are removed or other components like the height sensors and G-sensors are not working any more, you will have constant fault on your instrument cluster, also if you remove the air spring ECM, you will have constant fault code to n other control units saying: Can time out with air Suspension ECM
Hi, my so we have this 2013 genesis and the air suspension / button is acting up. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesnt. It would say ride height normal, but when you look at it from outside its down. what do you think the problem is?
Hi There, the problem could be simply for the switch itself, or any other components like the height sensors, technically when your problem is intermittent, it could be just for a loose connection and most likely on one the height sensors that you can find them by looking behind the front and rear wheels, otherwise, you need to take the car to a workshop as scan-tool should be used to read any possible fault codes and detect the problem.
@@AutomotiveDiagnosis EXTREMELY helpful as mine is intermittent and ECS light will come on but goes off when I start the car next. 2011 Equus Ultimate. I'll check the connections behind all 4 wheels
@@ltfreedomreign Hey! Yes I sure did. Had a new compressor....and airshocks and lines all replaced to be on the safe side. $3k bill tho. It was expensive but done at the Hyundai dealer. Eventually had the rears done at the local Genesis Dealer. First step is to have the ride height sensors looked at. I just opted get it all done...I knew it was going to happen since every equus own said "it was a matter of time" for it to happen.
The rear of my car always drops. I try the battery reset but still comes down while driving or parked. Can this system be set at a drive height and then bypassed/plugged off? Can anything be done except changing rear shocks as shown in other videos?
