"Hyundai calls it, fluidic sculpture. The design language that gives the new ix35 sweeping athletic curves and a muscular road presence.
Fluidic sculpture integrates design elements normally reserved for premium sports cars into an organic SUV package. Aggressive lower air intake, sculptured bonnet creases, sweptback headlights, a new signature hexagonal grill, an aerodynamically sloping pillars, are just some of the features that fuse a sporty upper-body to the tough solid stance beneath.
Standard on their models is stability control, ABS brakes, traction control, and electronic brakeforce distribution.
Six airbags, two at the front and side, and two full-length curtain airbags, compliment 3-point seat belts, active front row headrests, and an omni-directional safety structure incorporating high tensile steel alloys at key-stressed points.
For occasional off-road excursions, hill-start assist control helps during steep ascends. While downhill brake control maintains a constant safe speed during steep descends. To maximize comfort ride and handling, the ix35 features unique suspension calibration especially tuned and developed for Australia's harsh operating conditions.

Active ix35's come with a 2-liter engine and 5-speed manual or 6-speed auto-transmissions, 17-inch steel wheels including a full-sized spare, keyless entry and alarm, cruise control, rear spoiler, electric driver seat, steering wheel audio controls, and both auxiliary and USB audio inputs incorporating iPod compatibility.
Elite models are available with a 2.4-liter petrol and 2-liter R series turbo diesel. Both were mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Elite specification adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a proximity key with push-button engine start, roof rails, fog lamps, dusk sensing headlights, and leather trim elements.
Highlander specification features the turbo diesel engine with 6-speed auto and adds 18-inch alloys, a massive panoramic glass sunroof, electric folding mirrors, full leather upholstery, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control.
There's also a clever rear-view camera incorporated into the internal rear-vision mirror which is as useful in the city as it is in the bush.
Designed at Hyundai's European design studio, the ix35 is sophisticated and agile. Perfect for life in the city as well as tough and versatile for out-of-town travel.
