Just swapped mine in 15 minutes thanks to this video! Thank you. I have a question though. My car is still pulling power on WOT. I have a piggyback and on the lowest setting it doesn’t do it. But on the highest it still spits and sputters. What else can I do? I have a CAI coming next week which I think might make the difference but I’m unsure.

Nice, it definitely is a quick upgrade. As far as the power being pulled, I would say it may have to do with spark plugs. Did you change your plugs before putting the piggy back on the car?

@@KonaNthusiastI did the plugs at the same time as the piggyback. I’m leaning towards bad gas. I filled up at a truck stop in the middle of nowhere the day I put everything on so I just assumed it was the piggyback. I’m gonna fill up at my normal spot today and see if that makes a difference

@@mikeyinid hopefully that does. I normally am not picky about fuel but these cars seem to be finicky with fuel that isn’t top tier, I only use lower tier if I’m in middle of nowhere like you said. What piggy back do you have?

@@KonaNthusiast ⁠I got the TDI tuning box. It was on sale for 345 so I grabbed it to get me by until I can pull the trigger on the N75 stage 2 ECU. It really is a night and day difference even on the lowest setting

I just bought the same pump on eBay and noticed the super potent oil smell coming from it. Did you notice the same with yours and any issue with smells while in cabin after install?

I did not, I would guess that there is a leak from the pump. Check to make sure the gaskets or bolts aren’t lose, make sure everything is tightened to proper spec. Definitely wanna take care of this ASAP

@@KonaNthusiast The potent oil smell is normal, and has been reported on mostly pumps coming from overseas. It's used to test the pump (using compressed air), and to keep the pump primed during shipping, and installation. Always double prime your pump on first use or when the car has been left unused for a long time, by double cycling your ignition. A lot of people assume that the pump creates full pressure when you open the car, but that is not the case. It primes the(low pressure) pump on the tank, and then it goes to the HPFP.

If you’re tuned, you want to upgrade the pump so that your car can be able to run higher boost without cutting fuel

Do you know if the linked fuel pump will work from China there no reviews and I’m scared to buy a faulty part. The one from chine is like 250-270 but the genuine one on the Hyundai website is like 700$

@@ededdeddy7887 hey! From what I’ve heard they’re all pretty good, I can try to find a more reliable source. I know Amazon has been selling some lately. But yes the genuine one is really expensive, more expensive than some aftermarket sites

@@matthewkennedy-smith991 that’s funny 😂 so I just looked back at my coolant, it’s actually full. I’m guessing the coolant was still working it’s way back down to the reservoir after being driven for 30 mins

You always disconnect the battery "-" pole.

Disconnecting the positive is really all that’s needed, the car had no power at that point

@@KonaNthusiast Yeah, but the rule is: disconnect always the minus first not the plus. Ask a mechanic, or check the manual or you can search the internet too. For safety reasons.
