This is an extremely simple how to video on replacing almost every single Cabin Filter in every car. This was specifically done on a 2016 Hyundai Tucson, but the process is universal!

Thank YOU, Paul!! Just got back from my very last trip to the local Hyundai dealership. They did their 10 check and oil change along with taking care of a recall issue... The oil change cost $73 and when they found (by opening the glove box and removing the air filter) that the cabin filter needed changing they wanted to charge me $85 more - the reason/excuse for $85 was labor!! I am 75 and thanks to you I will be changing the cabin filter myself & rewarding myself by not now or ever giving the dealership any more of my $$.

@@pauliojr Just installed the new filter - it took 5 mins - it took that long because I forgot about the little arm lock thing on the rt side of the glove box. 5 mins for a 1st timer that is a 75 y/o woman!! You are a Blessing Paul. Thank you 🤩

The air is blowing from bottom to top. Shouldn't it be reversed (arrow up)?

Air flow goes from top down. The old air-filter showed leaves on top.

@@masterat0r I was wondering about this as the filter sits directly above the fan which flows upwards when turned on but there was dust and particles on the top side of the filter.

"Typically you want to put it in the way it tells you." The arrows should be pointing down towards the fan blades. So the air coming from the outside gets filtered through the filter then through the blades and into the cabin.

My 2019 Tucson came from the factory with the cabin filter airflow down (see the arrow on the filter), which one would assume is correct, along with Joe's observation of leaves being sucked down onto the top of the filter.

2018 Tucson - different setup - there's an arm on the right side of mine that prevents the door from dropping completely down, which isn't on the glove box in this video (the brackets are there but he must have removed before this video).

Really don't know why but if you want to buy Mann (oem for many car manufacturers) or knech/hengst (oe as well) price fluctuates from 20$ (without activated carbon) ~ 100$ (with polyphenol) but these filters are dimensions 195mm*240mm*(28mm-30mm). Which I think is the ones that will take all that space for it. But there are also thinner alternatives with dimensions 194mm*237mm*20mm (with polyphenol) which cost around 23$. What to take in this case?

@@damnshitashleyYep, there's a little arm on the right side that you have to push (relatively hard) out of the slot for the compartment to drop down
