​@@Fourby4Diesel hey bro just found your channel its great,I'm from Guyana 🇬🇾 I own cars my hold life,I do all my machical work my self ,never work an diesel,I bought my first hilux 4×4 with a kun25 2kd ,when I bought with Ecu problem,I never heard it start,I change the ecu but I'm getting little fuel up to the injector noting past,also I don't know if the previous owner had change the injectors too,I want to know if you change the Ecu do you have to correlate the injectors to the Ecu,

I disagree with some of what you said I brought a GXL for two reasons one the locker two leather cooling seats. The rear locker is not a standard rear wheel car when engaged it drives both rear wheels regardless if it lifts a wheel in the rear, it has saved me before. Then again I do use the vehicle in some rugged conditions that most would go. The seats are great as well. Still love ya videos Anthony..! ❤

Fully agree, bought GX too and very happy with it. One thing that bothered me though was the plastic steering wheel, too slippery when hands got sweaty. Fixed it with leather cover from eBay - it was a bit of work to stitch it up but well worth it.

Agree with you 100% which is why I bought a GX late last year before the new model came out (which I don’t particularly like and would not pay an additional $10,000 for). Overall saved nearly $10,000 on the GX over a GXL and another $10,000 by not getting the new model. Purchased mainly for touring and towing a 2.5 ton van and it does a great job on both. Cheers

100% Very well said. Thoughts i've had for a while and when buying my GX at new, I wondered why others would pay higher for superficial add-ons. The money I saved went to mods best used for me and my needs and they perform and look a lot better.

Ant, I agree most what you said. I would conclude that if you are using for touring- then GX is perfect and all you need and you can add an aftermarket locker (if desired ) which still works with factory traction control , unlike those in the gxl. The only thing I love with my gxl is factory led at nighttime driving and the extra rear ac for the first 20 mins getting in the hot car- after that my kids turn them off 50% times and I live in Brisbane.

The best aircon system is in the 120 GX & GXL with manual adjust aircon with the 3 x dials. Robust and simple to use with less electronics to fail. The dual front & rear climate control system is a nighmare to repair when it fails (requires dash out to access it). Our 07 GXL120 V6 has Harrop E diff lockers - a much better system than the 150 factory settup with rear locker. Our head-unit is upgraded to a modern Kenwood unit with upgraded speakers. I like the 120 better due to 180ltr fuel capacity & lower cargo floor for drawers than the raised floor 150

In my opinion, an electrohydraulic brake booster reduces the reliability of the car. At high kms that part can fail at any time in most cases without advise, when it happens you hear a beep on the dashboard and bye bye brakes. Besides is expensive, US$2000 plus labor, because it includes in one piece the booster, electric motor, accumulator, and ABS ECU. Agree about the traction control, but there are cars that have that function with a vacuum booster. The 250 for example comes with a vacuum booster and has traction control, one of the few things Toyota did right in the new Prado. It's a known issue in 150 Prados and third and fourth gen Pajeros, in both cases Aisin manufactures it. About the GX being better value for money, totally agree, in Costa Rica the GX version is called TX, the less the complexity, the greater the reliability.

I agree the GX is better value for money, however I don't agree about the rear locker, it has been a life saver twice for me in my GXL. I was stuck down 2 different tracks in WA after having 10 plus cracks of getting up the track without the rear locker engaged (they can be a little tricky to engage sometimes). As soon as I engaged the rear diff lock, I was able to crawl out first time. Also, when engaging low range in the Prados, the traction control disengages automatically, so the argument for making the car essentially rear wheel drive on the GXL doesn't apply to low range driving which is a pretty essential part to any 4x4 I believe. Using the same view you had, the GX becomes a no wheel drive car in low range.

As explained locker not needed traction control does the job Technically, you’ll probably find cause you push the locker button. It disengage the traction control which caused the problem, but your locker wasn’t in once it was in it did the job at tractor control would’ve done the job better. The only time is better is when you need instant traction, for example, a really rough steep rocky rock hopping type track and you want to keep it really smooth , very rare conditions

Also, you are misunderstanding the operation of the traction control Some parts of it are disengaged but not all of them until you press the button and hold it for three seconds for example when you’re driving in sand sounds like you need to learn a bit more about your vehicle before you get stuck again keep watching the videos and testing the vehicle

Awesome, I didn’t know that the traction control had different stages off being fully disengaged, I thought it was just the one push and the 3 second hold did the same thing as when you put it in low range. Good to know, thanks! And with the rear locker, I definitely didn’t have the button pressed and not engaged, it is always the very last thing that I will go to if nothing else works. Got out both times straight after pushing the button for the first time and seeing the rear locker icon appear on the screen.

The GX is better so it’s worth more they just sell it cheaper when it comes to the secondhand it’s about the same but people that do their research will buy a GX If you’re gonna get a GXl you might as well, just get a Kakadu Why muck around? 🤣

I have a 2017 GXL - I know better now and so I tell people interested in a Prado to buy the GX. I call it the 'smart money' buy. If you really do sell this one, I wonder what you will buy instead. I can't 'see' you buying a 250 until a petrol hybrid comes out, so perhaps a 300GX in the meanwhile.. I'm sticking with my 150 for the foreseeable..

@@Fourby4Diesel In many respects it seems its either the 300GX or the GR and nothing in between. But a fair slice of the GR price is the luxury car tax, so what value are you really getting for the extra 50k? The GX is also the 'smart money' buy of the 300 series. I too could buy either if I wanted, but I'd go for the GX - IF I could bear to part with the 150, and I can't escape the feeling that if I sold the 150 I'd have seller's regret. I just love my 150!

I leave my air-conditioning ON ALL THE TIME! Is that bad? Obviously I don't have it on when I'm using the heater but other wise I just leave it on.

That’s OK you can do that if you like it probably won’t matter but you will wear the compressor out more quickly. Compresses are only probably $1500 replaced where if you only use it half the time when you need it it will last twice as long might be the difference between 300,000 and 600,000.

Good video but rear diff lock is also unbeatable when going down steep rutted tracks, traction control won’t help u in that situation
