Ew, being reminded of those straight people that sexualize their children made me feel gross. I hate that. There's no excuse for them to do that and then get on our case about displaying pride clothing on our children. If they're proud of their toddlers "dating", why can't we put our children in harmless rainbow shirts...? Hypocritical.
My grandma got angry at my mom because she made a baby blanket that had rainbows on it. It was because my little brother is a "rainbow baby" (A baby born after a miscarriage) It wasn't even gay 😭
I laugh when I heard people saying, "I'd NEVER use a gender neutral bathroom. And I never have". Do they not use the bathroom at home? Or do the male and female family members have separate bathrooms to use? Do they not use the toilet at the friends homes? Because I'm pretty sure that when going to the toilet at a friend's house, you wouldn't ask, " Where's the men's bathroom?" Or "I hope that this is the men's"? ( Or ladies. Take your pick). Because anyone visiting my house asking that would be told to go piss outside! ( We live in a unit, and have one bathroom)!! So, in all reality, EVERY SINGLE PERSON has used a gender neutral toilet! 😆
@@daveisbrill bruh there is plenty of gender neutral bathrooms, small restaurants, which doesn't have two separate rooms often do this where you just get stalls... the first public bathrooms in history were gender neutral as well...
@@daveisbrill Oh, definitely cleaner. Just saying, everyone uses it, regardless of gender, without a thought. Also, yes, if I was an enby, I'd probably choose the ladies' room because, in my anecdotal personal experience, it's always cleaner, and usually smells better.
I have actually been in a house where the downstairs bathroom was for men and the upstairs for women! Yearly party in a multi-story house, and one year the son of the hosts decided to make and put up gendered bathroom signs. But yeah, not common.
@@pietjewaanman3506 safety of who? not allowing people into bathrooms that they appear as the gender of puts them more in harm than anyone else. signs wont stop actually dangerous people anyway in the first place
@snakedriverwe are hearing about that, and it even further proves that point. There is NO reason, in their own logic, that a trans man shouldn’t be using the men’s bathroom. But they want to deny that anyways, because it was never about trans women being a danger to cis women, it was about discriminating against trans people. I don’t think I’ve even heard an explanation for it, like I haven’t seen anyone try to justify it in the same way they justify keeping trans women out of women’s bathrooms, and yet they’re still ‘advocating’ for it.
When I came out to my parents as a trans guy I explained that gender identity is an " internal sense of feeling" that it cannot be explained with words and it can only be felt...they understood me...they accepted me... I am so happy...!!!
Exactly! I am not trans so I don’t have/understand the feelings but that doesn’t make them any less valid or real! I don’t need to understand the exact feeling to respect the people who feel it :-) otherwise I would have the right to be an a-hole to all the allosexuals and I can just say “well I don’t understand your feelings, are you sure you’re not making them up?” I am so glad that your parents understand that and are being supportive!
I do this with random adjectives people use to describe themselves, and/or feelings. Just so they can feel safe if they want to trust me to give their changed name to.
Came down here to say this. Also, in principle it depends on how hot the liquid is when it goes into the fridge. In principle, anything can be a liquid.
@@hannahk1306 yeah it depends on where you live. Warmer climates usually always have liquid coconut oil at room temp where colder climates usually don’t :) I live in the Netherlands, our coconut oil has only recently been liquid in the summer (gotta love climate change)
@@trishapellis Anything can be a liquid, but not every liquid can be put into a fridge. Both Helium (boiling point -269°C) and tungsten (melting point 3400°C) can be liquid, but you’ll have trouble getting both in liquid form into the freezer and tungsten is going to destroy your freezer.
@@SadisticSmile26 i think you're a bit confused. I'm talking about people who support the community, but are a bit confused about some parts of it; like in the video, showing a trans flag to a cis lesbian coming out
I was so confused when I first saw it, I was like why would a genderqueer person say things like that?? The lovely people on reddit helped me out and explained that terfs use it now, such a shame.
18:57 its the Sapphic flag! basically just means non-men attracted to non-men, could be pan, bi, poly, omni, just someone who likes women and/or non-men
My dad went through one of the quickest character development arcs ever 90s: private elitist boys school- homophobic < accidentally becomes best friends with gay man > 2000: best man at gay wedding (technically not legal, but like. Screw that)
I do not understand how or why a group of women would actively protest against another group of women! Women of all types, Black, Hispanic, and Trans need all the exact same support. And that's because we are ALL women!!!
Because unfortunately, some marginalized individuals would prefer to place themselves at the top of the system that oppresses them, rather than seeing the system itself as the problem. This is why so many TERFs uphold patriarchal values.
Because "trans women" AKA trans identified males are not women. Simple. Don't believe me, go and read the mtf subreddit and other posts by "trans women" on social media. Ever heard a woman threaten someone with rape?
@@saoirse2963 Neuroscience, psychology, and sociology demonstrate otherwise, and sex and gender are not the same thing regardless, so you're wrong every which way.
Sorta related to the t-shirt thing. In primary school my sister was getting bullied by a boy and it got to the point where my mum had to have a meeting with the headteacher about it. And the headteacher, AN ADULT WOMAN, called a primary school boy a LADIES MAN.
21:46 I felt the same way with romances in TV shows. Calling it forced and cliche. Then I found the girl x girl shows. Then I couldn't get enough. Unfortunately, I'm not good at finding girl x girl shows that often. So each one is a treat.
@@haylene7521 all dinosaurs, including avian, are reptiles, but not all reptiles are dinosaurs. Lizards, tuataras, turtles and crocodiles are reptiles, but not dinosaurs, whereas birds are reptiles and dinosaurs.
@@spiker.ortmann It's no longer valid, but people claim it's synonim with Sauropsid despite that term being made instead of redefining Reptilia (I disagree with it, though, dinosaurs aren't reptiles in my opinion).
15:20 I mean, sometimes we've accidentally had milk turn solid after being put too far back into the fridge. So it's possible for stuff to freeze in the fridge.
"It's a good thing your life doesn't depends on my success" is a good answer too, unless their lives effectively depend on your success, of course, but that only applies to lifeguards, EMTs, pilots and the likes when the naysayers are under their responsibility... 😂
The Ryker thing made me laugh and reminded me of a time when I met up the first time with some internet friends. They knew me as "Glenn Griffin" but my name, my preferred name, is Kay. They were calling out to me by the name "Glenn" and I didn't even hear them till they said my name. But that's a different situation cause I've never had someone calling me by my screen name irl
I’m SUPER glad I grew out of my homophobic phase as a kid I never really walked around saying “DaHm ThOsE gAyS” but if I saw say a person in drag I would be rude. I remember painfully that when I saw people bullying a “boy” for wairing a dress I joined in... she is a girl, I hate younger me for doing that I see her around now, she is happy and expressing herself. I’m old enough to realise my hate was miss directed because now I’m non-binary and excepted by my family ❤ Love is love
Speaking of bathrooms, I’ve learned that my passing is contingent on how inseam my hair. I’m 5 years on T so if I had short hair nobody would bat an eye, but since I have long hair I get challenged, but ONLY if my hair is open. Bun or half bun or wearing a hat is no issue whatsoever. Funniest one was being at a power metal concert in costume, standing with my back to the door and hearing some dude ask „uh is this the men’s?“ Metal. Concert. Lmao
I've had simmilair expirences growing up (I'm MTF) since I have a fairly androgynous appearance I always thought it was funny like my brother and christ I'm literally standing at a urinal, what woman's restroom have you seen with urinals? Ofc this is the men's restroom cx
@@P_D-px6iv had another one of those experiences just at pride last Sunday. Standing in front of the men's room, door open literally looking at dudes doing their thing (letting the door close would have held up the line too much) and a guy behind me goes "Sorry this is the men's". I just turned and stared for a second because I was like "yes I can see that?" I really want to know what goes through people's minds. I feel like Pride is extra bad for some reason. Can the community do better please?
21:04 OMG that is me. I am sex neutral ace and my period is rarely on time, I suspect I might have some fertility issues, a few years ago I was told that my overies were underdeveloped, I don't mind though 😝
The one about public toilets describes my situation from last night...I think, I actually mentioned to my friend that I'd rather pee in the woods 😅 I feel bad about not bringing myself to simply go into the men's bathroom, when the event was literally a pride celebration night. I think that that could have been the best first time for the men's...but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, I was too nervous. (My friend couldn't come along because she is a girl) First attempt, the place was too crowded and I was scared to go, the other time two people were hanging out in front of the men's door and even at the third try, with best conditions, I was too scared...well, after almost 6 hours, it was too urgent and I went to the girl's toilet. Some day I am going to make it...some day
7:22 I had a bit of a similar interaction with my mother except I was coming out as aromantic. She said I'd grow out of it when I'd meet the one. And I told her "It's not how attraction works, if you'd meet the one but she's a girl would you feel attracted to her. Would it make you grow out of it" and she said "Yes of course I'd be attracted to her. Everyone likes everyone I chose to be with men, you'll choose that too" She came her way around this eventually. But still didn't come out as far as I know. Also she technically wasn't wrong because I'm romance neutral and male-leaning bisexual lol. So I can choose to be with men.
I'm a masculine looking female and one time I was using a women's public bathroom, a little boy started arguing with me on why I was in the girls bathroom because he seemed convinced I was a boy. It felt very confusing, but also a bit amusing.
Man, now I am irritated that these terfs are using purple white and green. When I was younger I got involved in a medieval reenactment organization and designed heraldry for myself which was my favorite colors, purple, white, and green. I had no idea this had been suffragette colors, but if I had that would be fine. But the terfs can't have them!
I just avoid public bathrooms, which means minimizing anything I drink and the amount of time I'm there. Also try to go to places near some woods in case plan A doesn't work.
From what i know the pink and white flag with the purple flower is the sapphic flag, as violets were often presented between women as a symbol of sapphic love
18:45 For those who are curious, the mom is the sapphic flag, which sapphic is an umbrella term for a woman or femme-aligned person who loves women or femme-aligned people. People who identify as this may or may not be attracted to other genders. While this label isn’t exclusive, it is used to unify women-aligned people or women who love other women.
I teach music lessons at a nation-wide music store, and all their locations have single-occupant, gendered toilets. It frustrates me to no end. Also, coconut oil. Coconut oil can be liquid if left on the counter but turn solid when kept in the fridge.
some person i met online asked whether i was male or female, being enby, i said neither, so they asked if i had xx or xy chromosomes... anyways i said i wouldnt answer that question, so they called me "mr alien woman", which honestly, was just hilarious.
So the pink and white flag with the purple flower in the middle is the Sapphic flag. And sapphic is an umbrella term used for women loving women (can be used for lesbians, pan, bi, trans femme). Hope that helps, Jammi!
I just had a horrible breakdown because I think I’m trans (I live in an unsafe household that i can’t even come out in) and needed to calm down so I opened RU-vid to this. My saving grace honestly got me back to smiling in 10 minutes.
The gender expression ≠ gender identity thing was honestly what I needed to hear, because technically you could consider me “transmasc nonbinary” because I want to present more masc but I’m the least passing enby you’ll ever meet and I just look like a girl Also the books one is literally me lmao
1:58 Sends my mind back to a headline from November 2018: There's a clever Suffragette reference hidden in Jodie Whittaker's Doctor Who costume - radiotimes Copy/paste of a segment from that particular article: "Costume designer Ray Holman worked closely with Whittaker to make sure her outfit, which consists of a navy top with colourful stripes, matching braces, blue trousers and a grey coat, reflected a message they were trying to convey. Hidden within the sleeves of the Doctor’s long grey coat is a shade of violet - a colour that holds huge historical significance. “Violet and green are essentially the colours of the Suffragettes,” Holman explained. "So I said to Jodie if I could put violet in the sleeves, and she let me.” “And it’s brilliant!” Whittaker said.
15:13 Some quick Googling, and I found a list of things that are liquid at room temperature (18°C and above) and solid in the fridge (5°C and below): Glycerine Acetic acid Ethylene bromide Formic acid Cyclohexane Benzene Nitrobenzene
Jamie, you fool! Your joke websites are supposed to be something adorably ridiculous that no one would ever need! You're not supposed to make something that tons of people legit want! Where am I gonna get my trans bucket hat now?! (Fr tho people would buy these, maybe look into them as possible merch lol)
I’m non-binary and lucky to live in a relatively accepting area, which leaves me free to resolve the bathroom dilemma by identifying as my true gender, which is whichever loo has the shortest queue 😅. Seriously though I’m just peeing and I don’t understand why people have a problem with that 😒
about that last meme, the logo was for the game team fortress 2, which is one of the games often described as causing eggs to crack. some other games that are described similarly are * celeste * Fallout New Vegas * Warhammer * factorio
I was never, like, homophobic, but I definitely suppressed my bi side because of bullying and stuff so much I didn't come to terms with my orientation til I was like 30. There was a lot of negativity and stereotyping, and pressure to be "normal", it takes work to break through that, y'know? Like deprogramming. The same goes for shame about depression or showing "weakness" in other ways obviously, there's a lot of ways we're conditioned into repressing things about ourselves.
The ace one made me laugh bc unfortunately "am i pregnant" is still the first panicked thought i have every time my period is late... Despite never having had sex in my life 😂😂😂
