Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RU-vid channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Love the idea of giving the ball to some amateurs' to play with. That's such a good test of equipment, balls or clubs, designed to bring relief to a high handicap golfer.
@robertdeangelo9634
@robertdeangelo9634 2 года назад
I don't have a scam website to advertise but I agree. I hate the equipment tests when it's just tour pro's who are like "yeah that feels a bit better." means nothing to the general public. Even seeing Rick hitting a few doesn't mean a whole lot since, like he said, he might just be swinging well that day. If I see some high handicappers hitting this ball straight I'd highly consider giving them a go

It would have been a good idea to play 5 Pro V1’s as well so you could see the difference in distance and ball flight. Then you would have had a direct comparison to the ball you normally play

Yeah, kinda obvious alternating balls Maxfli vs. Pro V one after another would have painted a better picture. Rick tends to curve his balls though, and those Maxfli shots were really straight.
@shaun34

@@-Thunder yes compared to his normal ball flight you could tell that Maxfli was very straight. That chuckle after each shot also showed how much Rick could tell his shot was so much straighter. Hey Rick! What I would have loved to have seen you do with these balls is try to intentionally hit a draw or a fade. Straight aiming golf balls are generally marketed towards golfers who slice or hook the ball, so trying to hit a power-fade and seeing if it flies straight would be the best test!

Just so you know... it will not compare favorably with a Pro V1 since this Maxfli StraightFli is a 2-piece surlyn covered golf ball... quite unlike the 3-piece, urethane covered Pro V1. Hence, "feel wise, they feel like bricks" comment Rick made... a direct comparison would be the Maxfli Tour (3-piece, urethane covered ball like the Pro V1), and the Maxfli Tour X (4-piece, urethane covered ball just like the Pro V1x) at $35 instead of $50 for either Titleist ball!

I've used these balls before, early in my golf playing days (2 years ago and last year) and I like them. Once I learned how to properly align myself, they helped me take several strokes off per round. I went twice in one week, using regular balls, and these, and had 7 less strokes with the straightfli. That being said, I'm improving each round, and I'll use them more after I am hitting consistently, and see what I truly think of them. But, for cheap balls to play with your buddies, they're great.

Yeah, the Maxfli balls aren't as bad as maybe the budget reputation would seem to be. I've been playing the Maxfli Tour for the last two years, since as a high handicapper the ProV1s don't show much benefit for me. I would love to see a follow-up with some amateurs hitting these, might have to consider them since even though I play Maxfli, the Sraightfli seemed like a gimmick.

I got some of these. Now, I've only gotten 1 round of play out of them so far, and they seem to work. It's a very small sample size, but it did feel like I was hitting my drives straighter than normal. Good thing is, while they don't go as straight as the Polara Ultimate Straight balls, they are considerably longer, and still do seem to go fairly straighter. It was a good pick up, I think.

These do work. I drive the ball long, but not straight. I've been playing with those illegal balls because I can hit almost every fairway with them. These ones aren't as good, but they are legal. I've reduced my slices and hooks with these by a lot. If I hit an awful shot, instead of slicing into the next fairway over, I'll just be in the rough next to my fairway. With normal balls, I'll hit maybe 4 fairways. With these I hit probably half. But my misses are so much closer to the fairway than they were.

I used these last week. I was impressed. They worked 90 percent of the time. The times it didn't work was me trying way too hard and slicing it just as bad as normal. Worth a try for those wanting to stay in the game with a little less frustration.

I used these last season and they definitely seemed to help with my slice. To a point of course. Also they were buy one box get one free at my local sports shop so that helped also!

Another corker Rick, thank you. I will be more than happy to thoroughly test the ball flight - I am yet to see a single straight shot from my Maxfli clubs!!

Yes Rick I would love to see more amateurs doing testing on big platforms and I know I am in the majority because I read that comment consistently on RU-vid golf channel‘s comments sections. Thank you for testing and affordable ball. Maxfli is owned by Dick‘s sporting goods here in the USA the straight fly ball is usually on sale for 30 bucks for two dozen

I’ve splayed the straight flies a while back. They’ve been out here in the states for years now. Not a horrible ball at all. Definitely saw some straighter flights for sure. Maxflis tour ball is actually very nice.

Hi Rick, I think that it would be a great idea to allow others to hit the Maxfli. I would be interested in seeing that! Also, the Wilson Triad is marketed to be a straight flying ball. It’s a three layer ball and the Wilson premise is that each designed layers mass is accurate to design requirements and centralized to the centerline of the ball. To me this means that inflight it will react to the direction that it was hit in!

I started using these last summer, and oh my god are they awesome. Its not a cure for a bad swing, but it keeps you into the game mentally. Its nice to finally feel like i have some sort of control. All though i bought some Mizuno mp-20 SEL irons and screwed that all up lol.

Brilliant idea to give amateurs a whirl with these, could be great for high handicap golfer to boost their confidence, especially off first tees or when you are playing ahead of a group
