This 6WD King Kong CA30 took me 8 months to finish, I'm really sorry lol. But I do appreciate all the people that have supported the build. Being a Coffee Truck it was only right to use Real Coffee as part of the build.
You can continue to support the build here: www.buymeacoff...
At the end of January I will select at random 1 person who has supported the build to be its full time carer. I will post more details on my 'Buy Me A Coffee' home page.

It's a pity you didn't enjoy the build but I can appreciate why. All those tiny fixings must have been a real pain and it is annoying when parts don't quite fit as they should. The end result though is superb! The bergundy paint goes well with the wood panels and overall, the detailing has turned out very well.

The car looks great colorwise. I bought myself a ca10 when corona started to have myself a nice lockdown project. I wanted it to be an old rusty farmtruck. Decided to go on faded orange with rust on multiple places. Did that by cutting some "rusted through" holes and making some dents in the door and fenders and roof. Painting everything in a rust color. make it wet, sprinkle it with seasalt. let it dry. spray with orange and let it dry. take away all grains of salt to reveal a lot of rust stains and then dirt wash amd weather it all even more. Even bought 3d printable files to print files that hides the electro motor and makes it into a real looking old rusty petrol engine complete with air intake filter and sparkplug wires and battery etc. ald weathered into an old rusty heap of broken dreams. Added a micro led light in the cabin and also under the hood to be able to see all the hard work that I did under there. routed all cables in the C channel framing and fastened them with thin metal wire. Headlights and turning lights are wired with very thin wire since the led's use ample power. glued those wires underneath the cabin and in wheel arches and all also covered them with paint. All electronics are hidden. Mostly under the seat in the cabin. and the speed controller sit's inside the gastank. On / off button is also hidden inside the seat and via a small hole I made underneath you can switch it on and off when you reach underneath the cabin with a finger. So with all doors open and the hood open you will not be able to see any cable or switch. Also the complete chassis and axle housings, inside of the cabin etc. are weathered. There are men sitting in the cabin ( walking death figures) and a dog in between. even a pack of lucky strike sigarettes on the dash. I am very pleased with the result. The only remaining thing to do is to make a more permanent load to keep in the back that will hide my battery bit also allows me to take it out more easy to charge it. The used esc is a type that can be set to a higher frequency to eliminate the irritating motor whining noise that irritates the crap out of me when driving very slowly. Back then I decided to buy this ca10 instead of the ca30 because ot was much cheaper and more ment as a shelf queen since I have dedicated crawlers that do a much better job offroading compared to this 6x6. Now I regret this choice a bit. both models went up in price a lot and I think the high bed looks better with the double rear wheels. But again. Love the colors on your ca30.

I have the same 'wooden' bed except it'll be very heavily modified! First off, that plastic bed bottom is gone....and I'll be replacing it with real Basswood strips to replicate a real wooden bed. Next, the box sides will be cut down to half it's height and the reason for this is because this box will be installed into my SCX10-II all metal and portal axle'd 'UNIMOG' and the paint job is going to be completely heavily weathered with all metal parts with rust effects in an old aged orangey-yellow.....IT'S GONNA BE BEAUTIFUL

I watched this last night & wanted to comment that I can so resonate with having to finish a build but not wanting to have any more to do with the stupid thing. Coffee, tea, coca cola, anything can be used to stain. I used tea before, boil the water for 3 cups and put 6 bags in and let it steep. More bags = darker the tone. I spilled coke on an unfinished pine fire pit bench...oh crap...wait...poured it over the whole thing and wiped it down after a few minutes "that turned out all right" lol. If you're going to do any amount of painting, you should make yourself up a little paint booth. Get yourself an exhaust fan, inline ones work or a small box fan and a furnace filter if you can't vent outside. If you have a bathroom in that unit you can hook in flexible duct to that. If you can't, the box fan with a furnace filter in front does amazingly well. Get one of your amazon boxes (bigger) put the furnace filter and box fan in the back or bottom is better. When the overspray is still wet and in the air, it'll stick to the furnace filter. If you want to do something nicey nice, go to your local appliance store and see if they have a fridge or stove box. Snag the cardboard from that, it's usually quite thick and strong. My neighbour 2 doors down is a snap on dealer and he gave me a box they ship their tool boxes in. It's double walled and heavy duty and it's bloody stiffer than plywood.
