The things I’m tired of Music Producers doing! Time to change your ways to better yourself! #musicproducer #music #mpc #mpckey37 #beatmaker #podcast #akai #facts #motivation #hiphop #beatmakervsproducer #maximusxxi
To be fair I’m 40 years old with two toddlers and I’m having spinal surgery in 3 weeks, I’m not “making “ anything but music and art, and always will, but have any real success in the business is way out of the question for me at this point, I’ve produced since a teenager and always will, but I had my big push in 2015 when I was the lead singer of a rock/metal band and spent the money in a big fancy studio making a record, and playing show after show all over western Washington and trust me we exhausted every avenue, didn’t get the deal we thought we would and eventually went our separate ways, now I’m done with that, I’m crafting music for fun now, that’s it, not that I didn’t have fun before but there was pressure there to succeed, and unfortunately we did not
Hope all goes well with your surgery 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Let’s keep making this Music regardless of where we are in our lives! Sometimes creating things is the one thing that keeps up Alive and Well! Salute 🫡
Blessings on the speedy recovery I took a break for 7 years. Now I’m back and this go buying the equipment I couldn’t back in the day. Most importantly I’m doing it all for fun. No artist. No pressure. No deadlines. No stress. Pure creative freedom (time wise). I tell ppl I’m making the music to annoy them at my funeral 🤣.
You could sit in your puddle of sadness or get to it 👌🏿👌🏿‼️ 5 beats a day for 3 summers. My 3rd summer is coming up and nothing but love for my fellow engineers producers artist. Good vibes and business is my motto.
Start on analog…..take the knowledge into the box. Thank God for learning how to DJ on analog gear. Making a mixtape running the radio to the mixer, with the record player, recording and matching the outputs, while doing fades & cuts. My father had enough stereos to put two speakers/amplifier/recievers/tape deck in each room of our crib….and it was a decent sized home. Taught me how to solder and make ALL cables….i don’t buy them pre assembled. And a lot of other things. I still have his 3k+ album collection. Point is this newer generation of producers who are just getting into it have no idea of the sound they are desperately chasing. They know someone else’s sound, but not the actual “sound” itself. Btw you can build a very solid gold cap vca compressor for less than $600…..gotta know how to read a wiring schematic and solder though……in fact you can build all your studio hardware. Afterall “they” did 🤔 Great video as always sir!
Hold up.. man I didn't know what you was about to say. Then you start speaking 👏👏👏👏👏👏🤜👊💯💯💯💯💯 TRUTH, FACTS. the only problem is you speaking to people that stay in the box..😅😂😂. Salute brother
Also I want to add this : y'all producer needs to sit and really think about what you wanna do. Your style. Listen to everything, be open minded. If you hear something in a music that is not in the genre you produce : how can you use this to your advantage. A lot of producers also don't really learn. You don't need all the synths in the world. You need to know how to use a few perfectly. And don't listen to people who tell you : you need Serum, you need this or that. Everybody is using Serum. The same sound. Maybe the key is to use something very few people use.
