I’ve Got Some Big News!!! 

"The Lord stabilized me." That is the best way of putting it I have never heard before! Jesuscrist is the same as yesterday, today, and forever! Thank you for your testimony. I will pray like you this year. May you have a happy and blessed 2024 where the Lord leads you.

Look at the past. My dad spent 25 years in Airforce. We traveled extensively. At time we made moves reluctantly. However, after all said and done, I think we, my brother and I benefited from moves. Later in life you are willing to move for advancements in or out of military. I think it results in well-rounded family despite the adversities experienced My mom had degree in interior decorating but outside of our house she never pursued. She had a degree, so she ended up teaching school, which allowed her to spend time with us after school and during summer. Always lived life for family. Husband lucky to have you. He can pursue officer career or advancement in air force. With all benefits not bad route. Interesting website wishing you the best.

I lived in Jacksonville, FL for 18 yrs... There's a handful of good antique stores in Riverside (downtown). There's also some great thrift shops in Jacksonville. Best of luck to ya, girlie!

Praying for your move. When the mil moved my niece, she lost a Stradivarius and a trumpet. Once, when I moved, the person helping took a box that had my favorite things in it, the baby quilt I had made (my first quilt ever), the crystal bowl my great aunt gave me for my wedding, and the stuffed rabbit my mother gave to my son. I don't know what else was in that box, and I probably don't want to know. I think in the past year, I've been remembering people I need to forgive, and he was one of them, so I did and let it go. I know they had a rough life. At least I had the 2nd crystal bowl that my great aunt had given me, and I can make more quilts and buy more bunnies. I know I'm pretty spoiled, and I'm not lacking for good junk around here! :) I do NOT look forward to moving again.

I live in South Georgia about 1.5 hours from Valdosta. I think you will like it. There are some thrift stores as well as Antique Antique stores. North Florida also has the same thing.. Valdosta is ver new the state line. Tallahassee is not a far drive. There is also a town in Georgia named Thomasville that is within driving distance and they have many antique stores. They also have a Victorian Christmas that is very special. People dress in costumes and I think they have coach rides. The schools are good and they have very good football teams. I’m sure I haven’t mentioned everything, but Valdosta is a nice place to live. I hope you like it. I forgot Moultrie, Ga is not far at all, and they have antique stores around the town square. Mandy. When we PCS’ed a long time ago we met with the military person who was managing it. We requested a specific company who we heard was good from people who used them and we had them come to our place and I told them what we wanted. Try it.

Oh my goodness, another move so quickly. I wish you the best of luck with this move and definitely don’t accept those terrible movers this time. As military folks, you deserve the best.

So much loss, on so many levels, as well as the hopes for your continued settling and development in your home and life. Also, the high, high stress that moving causes. These things take their toll and need to be worked through and processed. Do you have a sense that you have no control? Great that you are chossing to see this as part of God's plan for your lives, which means that you are exercising choice by putting it in His hands. I guess it means that while the rug keeps being pulled from under your physical feet, hanging in with Him will deepen your dependence on Him and reduce your need for security on other things. Congratulations on the big news, Mandy! I'm so excited for you, and I hope that you will be much happier in Georgia. I've never been there, but I think that there is an antique mall, Farmhouse Antique Mall, in Lake Park, GA which is just south of Valdosta. Hopefully you'll have a chance to check it out. I was down in your old Illinois stomping grounds this fall. A friend and I drove down from the Bloomington, IL area to visit Eckert's, and we stopped at the St. Clair Antique Mall on the way home. I found some extra-special treasures there. Good luck with your move!

Wow, I can’t believe you are already moving again. I hope you like it in Valdosta. We vacation at St. Simon’s Island every year which is about 2 1/2 hrs from Valdosta. I bet you will like GA. Good luck in finding housing. Keep us updated on how things go.

We lived in Valdosta Ga along time ago. Moody AFB..Its super hot and humid there. There were some flea markets around.

OMG! You are going to ve very close to me! Valdosta has a few antique stores, but you will be able to branch out. Thomasville Ga is a little drive, but it's a cute little town. There used to be some antique places there, but a little pricey. I'm in Lake City, FL, so about a 45 min ride from you. I think you will like Valdosta, my heritage started there, then migrated south to Florida. I'm excited for you!

Peaches to the Beaches is in March, so you’ll probably miss it this year. I’d love to meet up with you though! In Florida there is a great show in Mt. Dora called Renninger’s.

I hate moving. But in your case it’s good news. I live in southwest FL but my daughter lives 30 minutes away from the Georgia Florida border line. So you might consider traveling to Jacksonville in Florida. I’ve been antiquing there. Love it. It’s on the east coast of Florida. I love Georgia. We have vacationed there but like in the mountainous areas like Bald Mountain. So much to see in Georgia. They even have beach towns. Good luck and enjoy!

Valdosta isn't on the beach. There are beaches a short drive away though.
