Fun fact: the scene with the malfunctioning chair was improv. The guy controlling the chair was messing with Myers, who stayed in character the whole time, and it was so funny that they kept it in.
The irony being that Number 2 has made an absolute fortune for Dr Evil and owns companies that have dominated the world! Dr Evil's schemes are small scale in comparison.
@@mattp6089 both, it's a running gag that they were being more evil by just being a corporation in late stage capitalism. Starbucks being infamous for quite a few misdeeds while pretending to be good.
As much as I love has a grant too cuz she's beautiful I love me some Elizabeth Hurley my beautiful British gorgeous woman❤ here's the thing sweetheart she didn't want to come into the second one so they had to get rid of her character which kind of sucks you know how Hollywood could be but she was doing other projects not to mention she was pregnant around this time with her first born son so that's why I know it sucks but that's how it is😊
The third is actually my favorite The real Vanessa just disappearing with no explantion is a joke about how most Bond girls were only in one film and gone by the next with no explantion. I’m pretty sure. I think it’s more likely the quality of the time machine and fat suit were intentional Edit: 69 likes. Nice 😏
Yeah. Yet, this plot twist was enough to keep me from watching any of the Austin Powers sequels. Just gave me flashbacks to the start of the second Matt Damon Bourne movie.
His career was cut...short His funeral was a, small gathering Film production was a, tiny bit delayed "OK that's enough "Right" **Both awkwardly exit the door**
Just like with the first one, I haven't seen this one in a decade plus, but yet I still remember the jokes to this day, plus it was the first time I saw Heather Graham in anything, after that was Scrubs (One my favorite shows) then Killing Me Softly and Boogie Nights, movies I was WAY TO YOUNG to watch. The reason Vanessa was written out was because it's James Bond trope in which every main Bond Girl is gone by the next film with little to no explanation, the few times that trope is broken is with the first two Kingsman movies. RIP to Verne Troyer.
Ivana Humpalot is Kristen Johnson. She starred in the tv show 3rd Rock from Sun with John Lithgow and Joseph Gordon Levit (who was a teenager at the time)

Michael York , to a generation of kids from the 70`s he will always be remembered as D`Artangan in the Thee Musketeers (1973) , the Four Musketeers (1974) , the Return of the Musketeers (1989) & La Femme Musketeer (2004) , he also stared in the 1976 classic sci-fi Movie Logans Run..
Definitely watch Austin Powers goldmember movie 🍿🍿 it's one of my favorite out of the entire franchise it's one of the funniest movies of all time!!!😉 rest in peace Vernon Troyer 😇 this the person that played mini me!
third one is worth a watch, though I think this one is the funniest of the three. The first was so great because it was such an awesome spoof. A fan of the older Bond movies myself so the tropes they were hitting on constantly make me laugh.
The amazing thing about Mike Myers comic genius is that although he's crude, yet one is dis-armed to the point you're found laughing your head off during most of the movie.
When I was a kid, I was disappointed they never made a 4th. But in retrospect, it was definitely a great place to end the series--at close-to its best.
Fun fact with all the Star Wars references: this movie came out around the same time as Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. In the original teaser trailer for the movie, they actually “If you only see one movie this summer, see Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. If you see TWO movies this summer, see Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me!” Lucasfilm was apparently very touched by that little joke lol
680 Comments - TL/DR, but it should be mentioned that Star Wars I was coming out at the same time, so that's one reason for all the Star Wars references. It was even reference in the ads: "If you only see one movie this summer, see Star Wars, but if you see two, make sure to see Austin Powers!"
Man .. when this came out, this sealed Dr.Evil as one of my favorite comedic characters of all time. His comedic timing and presence in this still holds up over 20 years later.
9:20 Good guess, but it's not Jayne from FIREFLY, it's giant canadian Kevin Durand (Keamy from LOST, Blob in X-MEN ORIGINS) in one of his first film roles. I never realized it was him until now.
So glad you are reacting to this series! I was 17 when this came out in 1999 and God it makes me so nostalgic! That Madonna song was absolutely everywhere (look up the music video actually - Austin Powers is in it!)
Do you remember the star wars themed trailer for this movie? If not you should go watch it, it's here on youtube. I had completely forgotten it till someone told me and when I watched it I totally remembered it, and I don't really remember many trailers
Fun fact: the numerous Star Wars references were because this movie came out in 1999, the same year “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace” was released. Even the teaser trailer was meant to tease audiences with it, with Dr. Evil sitting in the Death Star
Everything about "Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged Me" has another lineup of funny moments, including the Jerry Springer scene, the "Let's Get It On" scene with Dr. Evil and Frau Farbissina, the "Just the Two of Us" scene with Dr. Evil and Mini-Me, the out-of-context shadow scene with Austin Powers and Felicity Shagwell, and the climactic moment that parodies the James Bond film "Moonraker". And Heather Graham is beautiful in that movie, bar none.
This was great, so fun. Loved the singing too. :D Please do the third, it's not quite as good, but it's still the same vibe and worth checking out. RIP Verne Troyer.
Thanks for upload Mary. My wife and I still have the cosplay of Austin Powers and Felicity Shagwell which we bought for a birthday party years ago. Brings back happy memories.
I love all three movies, one may be better then other here and there but all in all it's a great and fun trilogy, not to be taken seriously, just some light-hearted fun.
The 3rd has the worst IMDb rating but I actually think it’s the best, a lot more spoofy but higher quality and a great cast. For me It goes 3rd, 2nd, 1st
No matter which movie it is these movie's are great how they slap the face of the bond movies, this one is my favorite of the three, the best on screen chemistry in this one.
This is my favorite Austin Powers movie. We finally get to go back to the 60’s. Plus, we get the two best editions to the franchise: Felicity Shagwell and Mini-Me.
The scene with "are you gonna cry" is taken right out the fantastic movie "The Great Santini." Not a comedy at all, but well worth seeing, about a (US) Marine fighter pilot and his struggles at work and at home with his family, in particular his teenage son, during the 1960s. It starred Robert Duval (nominated for 7 Academy awards) and Blythe Danner (multi-time Emmy and Tony award winner - and mother to Gwyneth Paltrow.) It's a really wonderful movie.
The mini me joke was a reference to Marlon Brando having his own mini-me on the set of The Island of Dr Moreau. An actor, who was a little person, was chosen by Brando to be his assistant in the movie, and would dress like him on set.
I don't know why you haven't heard good things about the 3rd. It's easily the best one. I love them all though. Also, Michael York plays Basil Exposition.
There is a dark fan theory that the guy who throws shoes regained consciousness and killed Vannessa before Austin woke up and replaced her with a fembot. Even that doesn't quite make sense though lol
There was a reveal earlier in the movie, when Frau Farbissima is telling Dr Evil "I am late" with accent on LATE and then Scott immediately appears in the time tunnel.
