Wow-- I remember driving from Barstow to Las Vegas around 5 months ago. All I remember was that a bunch of people were on the left lane and passing on the right lane.
I remember parts of Barstow and Victorville. In '12, our brigade went to training, and we transported every vehicle we could from M.C.L.B. to N.T.C. Good times.
I remember used 1-15 for a short time when I went down to Vegas. Wasn't on it long though, I don't think. Just long enough to get back to the north-south road we were using to go back north. LOL
Beautiful job on this video FWB. Just saw that this is one of the most dangerous Interstates of all. Featured on Dangerous Drives. Really enjoyed this.
I wholeheartedly agree with you...definitely a very unique experience. I'm just catching up with more comments on this video, and found yours. Thanks for watching! I actually release videos that are *much* more polished, so if you want to see another video that goes through semi-arid territory, check out my I-5 Grapevine video that I released over a month ago. I-5 in California, The Grapevine in Both Directions
Nice Ride :D I haven't seen 1-15 California since I moved to Henderson, NV in 2009, The 1-15 from Los Angeles to Las Vegas gives me great memories..Las Vegas was my Favorite Travel Destination as a kid..now I live in Vegas xD Thanks for the Video =) 5/5
Make the desert come alive indeed! I almost forgot what that segment was like since I haven't been to the LA metro region in a few years. Guess I'll get a refresher in two weeks! Good production!
First time I've read a comment like this, but a valid question. Shady things do happen along the I-15 corridor...a number of dead bodies have indeed been recovered over the years, not far from the freeway right-of-way.
@freedybox: Were you referring to the Mile Marker 153 sign, at the beginning of the video? If so, that's a standard mileage marker that is employed in most U.S. states, to indicate the mileage of the roadway. California is perhaps the only state that doesn't utilize green mileage marker signs, but I still use them in California videos. Thanks for watching!
@Freewayjim: Thanks a lot, Jim! Had lots and lots of fun, editing this video at Starbucks today, while watching the stats and scores update itself on nfl.com, lol. I've gotta start catching up on the rest of your releases soon.
Awesome work Brent! I recently drove from Northern CA to the Grand Canyon via I-5, CA-58, and I-40. On the way back I took US-93 from Kingman over the new Hoover Dam bypass and took I-15 from Vegas back to Barstow before ultimately heading back to I-5 via CA-58. I've never driven the stretch of I-15 between San Bernardino and Barstow. This video was nicely done and I appreciate the views!
That bus at 5:40, I've been on one before where the driver was doing that slight swerving back and forth! I HATED that feeling! It made me wanna go up there and ask him why the hell he was doing it and to knock it off! lol
Hey, glad you enjoyed watching! I just released a brand new video (much more polished than this one), showcasing I-5 North over its first 21 miles over the Tehachapi Mountains in Southern California. Feel free to drop by and check it out.
Destination: Las Vegas! One of my most favorite places on Earth. Great video though, glad to see you're back. You haven't posted anything in quite a while.
I went to Laughlin Nevada in December 2022 and I like interstate 15 more than highway 395 since there’s more lanes to pass other cars. If you have ever driven on the 395 it’s a one lane road In some places you will have cars trying to pass on the other side. I like the 15 more since it’s wider and has a divider in the middle so people stay on there side.
Ok Brent thats pretty dog-darn fast. 150 Miles to Las Vegas at 380 MPH. 380 MPH / 60 = 16 secs per mile. 150 miles times 16 is 22 Minutes. So Brent when are they going to make cars that go that fast. It seems that you and Jim are the only ones driving at break-neck speed and surprising... No cops are chasing you haha (just joking around). Great Video Love the music.
Nice work Brent! Just got back from Vegas tonight actually. I like driving rural interstates that are 6 lanes. Not too many of those around, I-75 through S. Georgia and Florida is about the only other one I've driven. It makes sense for busy corridors, even if they go through large rural stretches. I wonder if Victorville to Vegas will be ever be entirely 6 lanes? Anyways, great video.
@FreewayBrent haha, I agree with you and some of the videos posted on youtube are pretty scary watching someone drive 200MPH on their motorcycles. The only thing that comes to mind is: I hope you know what your doing cause if you crash its not only going to be nasty to watch but deadly as well.
I am also wondering something else; it is a strange question but I am just a very curious person. LOL Do you usually listen to the dance/techno style of music that you put on your videos, or pretty much just use it on the vids to accent them?
interstate 15 crosses the barren Mojave Desert north of Barstow and i would like for Interstate 15 to be widen to three lanes on the northbound and southbound side between Yermo road and Yates well road near the California/Nevada border.
@funboy0420: lol, I sometimes wish we could go this fast, but I wouldn't want to be driving at those speeds. Maybe a high-speed bullet train or a Maglev train, but I would shit in my pants if I tried even 200 MPH.
