Crazy to know that NPH knows about you and your amazing videos and props! Great job on the door! I can't imagine all the filament and time it took to print. If it was me, I'd probably have a giant garbage bag full of PLA spaghetti and given up long ago. LOL!

I am glad I found this channel. NPH is as good, if not better, in life as in screen. He was president of the Magic Castle and I ran into him and Edward, Neal Patricks pal, at the magic flea market at the castle. I had just lost my wife of 25 years and my father a month later. I was a total wreck. NPH and Ed out up with me rambling and crying. NPH showed me the Houdini tank and story behind it. He didn't have to, neither did Ed, yet they were very kind. He is like that, a regular guy and fellow magician

This is incredible. My house is all done in Haunted Mansion. I love what you created here. WOW! I live in So Cal and can't get enough of the HM. People come in my house and are shocked to see it. LOL, i love it. Great work.
Oh my GOSH! This is looking fantastic! For the spray painting, have you ever used a spray can trigger/grip? I use Rust oleum and it is so worth it! It dramatically reduced finger and wrist strain and for me, gives better control of the spray.
Love it. This is like recreating a past we all remember but never happened. Any chance on seeing it fully installed? That would make fairy-tale complete.
I attended a play with NPH a few months ago. Of course, I had no idea until afterwards that he was in the audience with me, he was seated on the other side of the theater. But someone snapped a photo of the audience and I'm on one side and he's on the other, so I'm counting it as a pic of the two of us together. 🤣 This is so cool! I'm such a huge fan of his and of the Haunted Mansion. I feel like this is something I would do if I were rich.
I'm amazed that you made all of it with 3D printer. I confused why you didn't make most of that out of wood, would have saved you a lot of time. Good job never the less.

I can’t really go into it here but I lost a dear friend recently who was the world’s biggest Haunted Mansion fan (his house was literally part Haunted Mansion), and this video is wonderful on so many levels! Incredibly well done!! 🤘😍🤘
You did a great job with this, but I think you made it harder on yourself than necessary. So much of this frame is rectangular, that in my opinion, a pure 3d-printing approach is over-complicated. For future projects, I would strongly recommend building the bulk of it with something like "Rigid Foam Board Insulation Sheathing" from the big-box hardware stores, then 3d-printing just the details.
While there are always multiple ways to do most projects, 3d printing made the most sense rather than using wood (as some other comments have suggested) or foam. The biggest issue with foam is that it's not truly rigid and would have needed to be fiberglassed to make it strong enough to withstand the bumps and bruises that come with shipping, installation, and general wear & tear. The 3d printed parts, because they were hard coated with epoxy, should be much more durable and still relatively lightweight for cross-country shipping.

We're still trying to figure out those logistics, but you're the second person to suggest driving it to him. Neil did say he'd send some footage once it's installed, so I don't think this is the last time you'll see him.
@VanOaksProps If I had the funds, I'ld be tempted to fly out to California, meet you guys, load up a van & drive East & meet him ! Lol ! Would just have to find a crazy friend to help with the driving ! ;) P.s. I am assuming he lives East ? Just guessing by the miles ? Perhaps he lives North or South ?

I'm somewhat disappointed because I thought I was first on the list for a massive HM build... but kidding aside, that is massive and awesome all wrapped up into one!
That is excellent. Good to see you're breaking through to big names - this could lead to many more bespoke contracted builds. Just a question though - why not use wood/foam, as opposed to 3d printing, which must have produced a really expensive, and heavy finished product?
Great question. Wood would be heavier and since I’m not a woodworker, much more challenging & time consuming. Foam wouldn’t be rigid enough on its own and would require fiberglassing to make it durable enough for a permanent installation. All in all, 3d printing is lighter and less expensive. Plus it’s much more accurate than I could’ve been carving it by hand.
@@VanOaksProps Thanks for your response. Are the 3d printed pieces hollow, or solid? I'd assumed they were solid blocks, but if they're a thinner façade piece, I can understand why they would be lighter in weight. You just need to 3d print the rest of the haunted mansion now.
