I have always enjoyed driving across Ohio due to its expansive, sophisticated freeway network through its cities. Even the rural interstates mostly have 3 lanes in each direction!

Driven this before. Columbus has some of the funniest (aka strangest) interchanges around, especially I-70 through downtown. And yup, there's US 62 again. It's everywhere between Niagara Falls and El Paso. Columbus would usually be a stopping point when I drove to Washington to see my late sister.

Luckily they're fixing that. But, unfortunately it's taking a long time, hence why Columbus has the most traffic in the state.

I noticed the variable speed limits, which ODOT also uses on I-90 NE of Cleveland (through a stretch subject to lake effect snow).

Yeah, they installed that along with the Smart Lanes a couple of years ago to better manage traffic from Downtown to the Airport and I-270.

You are heading to pittsburgh PA next driving on Interstate 670. Nice to see the columbus Skyline here as well. The beautiful capital of Ohio and probably a little bigger than Cincinnati and cleveland combined. This is a straight shot to the pittsburgh suburbs

I basically felt that I had to clinch I-670 in both directions through downtown due to how strange its alignment is at I-71.

Totally agreed - the interchange with 670 & 71 is a complete disaster!

And that interchange is the “upgraded” one from the previous interchange. I think they finished it 3-4 years ago.
