JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - I-70 is shut down near Morrison as crews battle a tanker fire. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the tanker was fully engulfed in flames and up to 6 other vehicles may be involved in the incident.
Let me take a wild guess at this one. The guy was being cool and speeding at around 90-100mph while on the phone and under the influence. He played chicken with the tanker and lost. Pretty typical for 70.
People freaking fly up that hill ALL THE TIME!!! Same type of accident happened on I-70 last week further east. I believe it was around the new tunnel. A prius hit the back of a semi. That person died. Speed was the reason for that one from what I heard. Semi trucks usually are in the far right lane going up the hill. I pray that person survived the crash. But that car is absolutely destroyed. SLOW DOWN PEOPLE!!!
Driver has other lanes to stay far away from the tanker but chose to challenge the tanker and lost. So sad. People need to stay clear of trucks and share the road. This does not make sense to even happen at all so obviously the car was speeding.
