Thank you for documenting this time and place. So much of my life and wonderful times with people come from this background and setting. It's nice to know this keeps it alive, as dramatic as that sounds.
Great video! Glad someone posted a good video of the drive down to miami! I used to always love going on road trips from daytona to miami with the family, so this really brings memories
I came down here 2 times ever in my life. One of them was to meet up with someone before going on a carnival cruise, and another carnival cruise years later. Hollywood, where the water tower is, I stayed at the holiday inn, and it was awesome vacation. I definitely plan on going back again.
I visited Miami twice in my life too. The first was back in 2012 when I stood at a Hampton Inn, and you can see some of the downtown area, which looks spectacular at night, as well as doing some other things down there before driving five hours from there to Jacksonville on I 95. And the second time was last year in June, only to stop there while flying back from Pheonix to Atlanta to catch another flight.

When tolls are high there, the express lanes are congested and the signs would indicate that the express lanes are congested to dissuade people from paying the expensive toll to sit in traffic which they can do in the regular lanes for free. Sometimes paying the express lanes toll is worse than using the regular lanes.

The complete opposite? Normally, High tolls indicate heavy traffic in the local lanes (giving a heads up to use the express lanes). Normal/Low prices mean normal traffic.
