My favorite part is that this bug in particular is so obscure and doesn't affect anything ever and he still finds a way to use it to accelerate XP rates.
People like Fray are the reason Jagex's bot detection doesn't work lmao. Bro killed 72k revenants to 20m ranged xp, killed Vet'ion 4.5k times, did Soul Wars for 21k Zeal, killed god knows how many chaos druids and zombie pirates, and is now sitting in Puro-Puro most of the day catching eclectic imps. I've watched this series and if I didn't read the name I'd ban this account lol.
I'd like to say that you technically used a mechanic as intended. Instead, everyone else doing puro-puro without having their imps stolen are actually abusing the bug.
At 52:27 , he reads off 'you can now grow strawberries' from a level up message, and my tunned-out brain heard 'you can agro strawberries' and I was like 'wait what when did they add a strawberry monster?'. Made me tab back in to see what the hell was going on.
I'm in an outside studio and they're in the garden with my wife and just popping in because I have the door open! When I'm not actively recording a clip I'll usually play with them and stuff 😂

The "Swap Left Click" on the implings should work, you just have to do it twice: On the Puro Puro Implings, and on the Overworld Implings! That's how it was for me. :)

I guess even at 110k exp per hour, if the guards were to work all the time, this is still a very intense method with no rewards. So I agree with not fixing it
Technically everything is working as intended, based on how that monster works he should be able to do this all the time but for the bug that stops him
It's not bug abuse. That's how the imp defenders are supposed to work all the time. If anything he's reaping the benefits of a properly functioning NPC for the small window of time it works as intended. The bug literally stops him from doing this for more than a couple hours.

The reason the imp defender walks through you at 30:13 is because the game shows teleportation as a walk animation if its very closeby. The impling did teleport to that spot it just showed him walking clientside because it was so short of a distance. The same thing has happened to me before where I died and looked like i walked through a wall when i respawned

have you tried putting the small net in the price checker while you tele out from the bob random? its a glitch that allows you to bypass the respawn of the dawnbringer in TOB
At around 47:00 you're doing the spoils of war and got the bolts and then said you didn't get any yet there's me pointing at the screen as if I'm watching Dora, it's there they're there in your inventory!! XD
In regards to the nets at @42:45, I know for example in ToA on the monkey room if you die with the hammer in inventory it lets you keep the hammer after the raid, maybe these nets and other similar instances operate the same way?
Hey just FYI I'm not sure if you have access to magic imp boxes in your chunk but if you can find away to get one you can smuggle the small fishing nets out of the fishing random by sending them straight to the bank.
I got Ranger Boots on my main on the 2nd Medium Clues completion and I was just as astounded as you when you got yours here at 11. Like wow! If only if my ironman accounts were that lucky.
One thing you might want to try if you haven't already is killing the imp or capturing it on your main. I feel that would reset the imp such as when the game comes back online.
Too bad it is a bug. If they fixed Imp Defenders, Puro-Puro would be magical for XP! This is a crazy find, and kudos to you for releasing a video helping out all the rest of us Xtreme One Chunkers!
playing RS3, the Imp Defenders DO try to steal your implings, but in my case my stats (agility, I think) are too high for them and I always get the message that they failed.
Can you use an imp-in-a-box could be used to smuggle a fishing net out of the fishing random event. Not useful for your account of course, but could be useful for some build out there
So normally you can't bring a Magic Box into Puro - but what if you could smuggle it in somehow and then catch the Imps and force them to truly respawn? Maybe by breaking a looting bag?
Interesting that there are two "types" of each impling, "overworld" and "puro puro", with different xp rates. You mentioned (and I've previously noticed) that setting an impling to left click doesn't apply to them all - could they be related? Perhaps you're not setting "baby impling" to left click, but "overworld baby impling"? If so it would be amazing tech to let you identify the high xp implings... I'm also wondering where the "overworld" implings come from - puro puro has both specific spawns (eg the eclectic impling spawn you camp) and ones that spawn random implings - maybe the overworld ones only come in via the latter? Have you ever got the "overworld" xp from an impling from a fixed spawn before? Could be some interesting science to do there... If you could reliably identify and catch the higher xp "overworld" implings, that'd be huge...
Do I remember them changing the animation lockout on telegrab? How fast can you act out of it now days? Could you say, teleport before receiving the item you grabbed? What happens to the item if you can?

Trapped NPC's do not despawn, they teleport - The first imp was just close enough to the spawn tile that the client rendered the change of tile as movement
Imp defenders do steal your imps, but it seems to be hardcapped how much they can do it. Usually after a system update they do it a few times and then seem to bug out
Random thought, but do you think you could sneak a small net out of the bob random event using a looting bag on a pvp world if you enter it from one of the allowed areas?
Another random thought but could you sneak a small fishing net out if you cast telekinetic grab and left the area as the spell connects with the small fishing net?
I don't think random events that teleport you can happen on pvp worlds, since they also cannot happen in the wildy (because you could use them to escape pkers).
He would also need to get the box to capture the imp, which would need nardah, yanille, or varlamore, none of which are particularly close to him, and all would unlock other grinds in the process.
I wonder- is Jagex more likely to make released implings into puro puro variants, ruining this xp, or to fix impling defenders, making this xp possible all week long?
Hey, have you considered maybe the wheat have something to do with the imps being able to release your imps? Seems to have happened a few times when you were walking through the wheat? Just an idea!
i assume this "bug" is just that the xp from outside and inside puro puro for magpies are switched, this has always been the way , reported this couple years ago but never fixed it

really cool tech. I love uncovering the secrets of spaghetti code like this. however, I stand with Josh that puropuro is a skip because it turns your 1chunk into the same as everyone else. In most cases, puropuro is boring for the chunker and the viewer. A large part of a chunker is playing the game a way other players haven't before, so do the same thing as every other chunker by locking yourself into the exact same 500 hour grind as them? Puro should have been an "only if you unlock zanaris" task from the start. Good luck on the grind tho. At least you've got something different about your puro grind.
It's not as game warping for me as it is him! Only upgrades for me are: Addy Platebody -> Rune Chain Nothing -> Snakeskin Boots Nothing -> Red Dhide Vambs My account is way more progressed than his in terms of gear and training methods so skipping it would have been more of a copout than a purposeful avoidance of power creep. Luckily, in real time, I'm 86 Hunter already, so it'll be done soon!
