I Accidentally Beat Bloodborne and I'm Now Depressed 

after the workshop had closed and maria had killed herself, gehrmen kinda went insane, and used the umbillical cord found in the workshop to commune with a great one, he ended with the moon presense, a great one who is hostile to other great ones for its own completely unknown alien reasons we'll never know or likely understand. it used gehrmans memory of the workshop to create the dream, enslaved gehrmen in it, and tasked him to guide hunters who make their way here to perform hits on great ones the moon presence doesnt like. that's us, the latest after countless hunters cursed to resurrect in the dream every time we die until we complete our task of killing some great one, at which point gehrman "kills us" ending our role in the dream where we then awake in the normal world, with no more ability to come back to life, and the cycle begins again. we arent the first hunter he's shown this mercy to (and it is legtimetely mercy, gehrmen is a G to suffer here continually just to free hunters like ourselves at the end of our quest), and in fact we arent the ONLY HUNTER IN THE GAME to have done this. eileen the crow and djura (the gattling gun guy in old yharnam) both used to "dream" as they call it. djura became enlightened and sympathetic to the beasts after his journey and dedicated his life to leaving old yharnam undisturbed so nobody can kill people anymore. he recognises you as a dreamer when he kills you and says whenever he does so "i suppose you still have dreams, well next time you dream, give some thought." Eileen even directly tells us towards the middle of her questline "tell the little doll i said hello" and towards the end of her questline remarks "this is my last chance, no more dreams for me" to say that because she and djuras roles are done, if they die again they don't come back to life like we do, and they would be dead forever. this is one of the coolest things about from software games is how they actually justify your ability to come back to life from the dead this also canonically means that djura and eileen have actually killed great ones before!!

The ending you got was where you become a Great One, because you ate the parts of the umbilical cords, in short you become a creature akin to the Moon Presence.

Tonight... Gherman joins the hunt. Man this character is probably the most tragic in the whole lore and that says a lot about him already. This fight is not a combat between the enemies. It's about who will show who the mercy and free the other one from the nightmare that is the hunter's dream. Thx for the playthrough, it was great

Him being the First Hunter means he was the first one to hunt the beast. For that moment, completely alone, later he taughted bunch of dudes to help him, many of whom assisted him in the Fishing Hamlet massacre and ended in the Hunters nightmare as the Old Hunters. Later the beast scourge became common, the church decided to sunk Gehrman and replaced the Workshop with the Church Hunters with Ludwig (who could be one of Gehrman's apprentice) in charge. The Old Hunters were either forgotten or proclaimed heretics

Gherman's resistance to lightning is not actually that much smaller than his fire resistance, what happened with the tonitrus is that paper doesn't scale with stats and the tonitrus does scale with both arcane and strength, so that makes it a weapon that your build can use it very effectively

I loved this series’s and seeing you go through everything made me get back into the game after platinuming it and the dlc years ago, I’d love to see you go into new game plus just to see the difference between you now with the bosses again (every time you defeats the game on the same character the game gets harder each playthrough so you can add difficulty as you play more and more games so it’s not just easy baby mode with over leveled weapons)

if you hadn't eaten the umbillical cord, the moon presence enslaves you and uses you as a replacement for gehrmen, and your trapped in the dream guiding future hunters to perform great one hits forever, its the worst ending. accepting gehrmens mercy is the middle ending, and this one is the true/best ending. you escaped the dream and attained enough insight to become a great one and ascend humanity. congrats, the best ending in the game has you turn into a squid XD

I think the most difficult hunter I fought was the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst. That guy would parry you so easily if you are too agressive.

Gg man, 3 endings1. u accept the gehrman offer ans die and wake away from terrible dream, 2.u refuse gehrman but without using umbilical cords moon presence(god in bb, the last boss) consumes u and u replace gehrman(u will be a new hunters dream host) and there is ending number 3 and thats u become a god in bb, rom the spider was covering the moon and basically he was hiding what its rly happening..Also u have 2 places to buy things, down where is a doll and u can buy things for blood echoes and up is another buy station where u can buy blood rock, fire paper, gherman costume, maria and the other hunter costumes.. Also u can use madman knowledge ans that gives u 1 insight, that is like a ember in ds, u got insight when u come to new area, see the boss or kill the boss also when u learn something what is important in game, also use blood echoes from your Inventory its like soul Containers.. Gehrman was never a enemy he was trying to help u, this ost this fight is for me best in bb, because u dont fight to kill each other u fight to save each other..

So, the Hunter's Nightmare is where blood-drunk Hunters end up, and they're basically forced to live and fight as the worst (moral) version of themselves. Hence why Ludwig is an equine beast and Laurence is a cleric beast. Lady Mari, on the other hand, is more conscious than those two are. Lady Maria was a student of Gehrman, something like a daughter to him (one theory is that he was romantically obsessed with her), and she was part of the Byrgenwerth expedition to the Fishing Hamlet in seach of a Great One, that being Kos (or some say Kosm oooOOOOOOOOOooooooo). However, she was so wracked with guilt over what she did in Byrgenwerth, that she forsook her oaths as a Hunter, threw her weapon (Rakuyo) down a well, and spent her time in the Research Hall of the Healing Church, offering comfort to the victims of the Church's experiments. What we see in the Nightmare is Lady Maria defending the way to the Fishing Hamlet, intent on allowing nobody else to desecrate that already desecrated place. She protects the denizens out of guilt, going so far as to once again rely on the bloodtinge that she had once forsaken when she left her home of Cainhurst to become a Hunter in the first place.

I do agree that Gehrman is a much better boss than the Moon Presence but thats why the Moon Presence has to force the hunters to her will. It's why she bound Gehrman to the Dream, and why he tries to set you free, so you won't be trapped like he is. If you defeat him without the cords than the Moon Presence binds you to the Dream and you take Gehrman's place, training new hunters to hunt down the Old Ones, because the Moon Presence seeks to destroy her own kind. The "happy" ending is probably where you let Gehrman kill you, allowing you to wake up like the other hunters have done. Also, you always have the Chalice Dungeons for more challenges. Some people find them monotonous but there are unique enemies and maps in there, as well as some bosses found no where else in the game, and there's quite a lot of dungeons. Some of the most difficult encounters and bosses are found in the Chalice Dungeons, along with a ton of "altered" weapons and upgrade materials. I even remember a unique star-faced mole that supposedly took 2 years after release for people to find.

gehrman was not the first person to kill beasts, the college had been doing that as early as when they discovered the labrinth. but when the beast plague first appeared in yharnam, the church tried to keep it quiet and under wraps, and founded the hunters workshop, where gehrman ran the place and is responsible for creating the fast paced dashing fighting style the game uses. he trained the hunters who fought beasts in secret under the cover of night without the public knowing. AFTER the beast plague became too big to cover up, the church closed the workshop and founded the church hunters instead, led by ludwig, to essentially create anti-beast crusades once a month or so called the night of the hunt, and all the other various church organizations (such as the powerkegs, the choir, the black and white church hunters, ect.) the abandoned workshop is the hidden base of opperations of the original hunters led by gehrman, and the inspiration for the hunters dream area

The Hunter has achieved what most of the Chacters want to achieve. we Ascended to God hood we have become a great one. And Replaced the Moon Pressenece for without a hist for the dream the Doll will no Exist.

You're going to enjoy Dark Souls 1 and 3. Dark souls 1 is refreshingly simple; just time your rolls, or parries on humanoid enemies if you want. The shield parry has NO windup, too, so just slap aside and reposte. Dark Souls 3 is as close to Elden Ring as you get, but has some design elements from Bloodborne due to it being mase right after. And then there's Dark Souls 2, the black sheep of the trilogy. Depending on sonething inherent in your brain, DS2 will either be a fun challenge, or a hellish slog like no other. In order to understand the story, it's best to play the three in order, also that way if you hate DS2 you can have DS3 asa refresher.
