I only started watching Directs in 2019 and it has been a rollercoaster so far. I wish I watched them during the 3DS days since many seem hilarious and meme worthy (but funny enough I had no idea these existed). But hey, better late than never 🤩 that being said, time to watch these directs with you!

The best one is probably the Mii fighter announcement at E3 2014 but yes they used to produce Directs in a way to have parts of them shared as GIFs on bulletin boards

Year late but YES. A true gamer gets emotional over others genuine reactions. I still watch the BOTW Presentation trailer reactions and tear up when people start bawling during it. It's just wholesome. It's also crazy that video games can unleash that amount of emotion from people. It's wonderful

I started watching directs in 2017 and I'll never forget when they announced Labo and I almost had an aneurysm from being so mad. I felt like they had wasted my time to announce cardboard and it failed miserably. Hate it to this day.

The first direct I ever watched was the one in September 2019. I remember absolutely loving it and I couldn't wait for the next one. However that was the last major direct they had for like a year and a half so the wait for the next one made me sad 😂

This video was fun and I had a lot of fun watching it because it goes back though Nintendo's history and you put a lot of work into it, but I don't think a mini direct video would have the same impact to be honest. I don't want you to have to do the work on something that doesn't sound as fun

The era of Satoru Iwata. I miss that man so much. He brought so much fun to the company. Directs were his baby. And he is the reason I love watching them so much. Even if the direct sucks, I still get so excited to see whatever they have to offer.

WOOD, HOW HAVE YOU NEVER HEARD OF FREAKYFORMS? THAT WAS MY CHILDHOOD! ...in all seriousness, I'm surprised in how many directs this thing appeared in. I've heard about it before, but nevr played it. It stikes me as one of those weird smaller games Nintendo develops every once in a while, like Snipperclips was. Not worth 4 directs of maketing.

My first Nintendo Direct was January 2017 where we found out about the Switch in detail and the release date for it and Zelda. Me seeing the 2016 Zelda trailer made me aware of the existence of Directs. Been a revived Nintendo fan ever since. Thanks to the Switch.

Yes THIS IS HOW THE XENOBLADE FANS FEEL WHEN YOURE NOT EXCITED idk it's not supposed to be everyone's cup of tea just like how I find the Zelda series boring but like to me Xenoblade has some of the best characters and story of any Nintendo game and that team always smashes the games out of the park

I gotta say, I love my raycon. Bought them with your code but idk if it was just me that got unlucky. After a couple weeks, the case stopped charging my buds :( and well I prob have a weird ear shape cause none of the buds fit me so I can only wear them for a couple hours before it starts to hurt my ear. Nevertheless, I dont regret buying them cause I do enjoy the sound quality and they were the gaming buds which helps with using on discord for me. Just wanted to put my honest input since I do enjoy your sponsor videos and the skits always crack me up. Thanks for your many amazing vids you do Wood! :)

It's interesting how many people don't remember how lackluster the switch was at launch for someone who didn't care about Zelda and 1 2 switch was kind of a joke there was no reason to get one for me what made me buy a switch was the Mario odyssey bundle and Xenoblade had just been announced so I brought one much later in the year because there's always that wheird transition period between consoles and then I think the switch really popped off in 2018 as they focused on the switch more added many more indie titles and first and third party titles but yeah it's not surprising the 3DS was still the main focus even after the switch launch

I was crying at the announcement of Banjo for Smash. I had played some basic games as a little kid on my saga genesis like sonic,, lion King, etc but I didn't really go crazy for it. But then when I turned 6 my aunt got for my cousins and I a n64 and Banjo Kazooie and i......was.....HOOKED. Been a gamer ever since. Thanks Banjo Kazooie

I actually own Freakyforms Deluxe! Granted it got it for $10 (new, not even used) so that may say something about the quality of the game. It was fun for what it was... You make creatures and then do the most basic baby platforming with them. The platforming was honestly trash, but making creatures and getting other people's creatures from Streetpass was interesting for a bit. Keep in mind that I was already an adult when Freakyforms came out; kids may have gotten more fun out of it. My favourite creature was one I got from Streetpass named "7 Circles". It was just 7 Circles super far apart from each other, and it actually gave the game some basic level of challenge because if one of the circles fell into a hole, the other 6 would get dragged in and you would die. Also there was the ability to add creatures to your game using QR codes and there is an invulnerability in the game that essentially resulted in people using the QR code reader to launch homebrew software on the 3DS. Because of this, the price of Freakforms Deluxe skyrocketed at some point.

I really liked the idea of the video, but i feel it's just a bit too hard to congest into a typical BeatEmUps-video length. However, why not stream this?! Time constraints wouldn't be an issue and the audience could bring a different spin on topics that Wood might not be interested in and make it even more hype.

My first direct was February 2019 my second one was e3 2019 and I was so amazed by that one I wondered if all directs were like this and most e3 ones I saw looked nice and then covid happened and e3 was weird in 2020 and 2021 so I just want them to have a good direct again

E3 2013 had the reveal of a new Mario Kart, new 3D Mario, new Donkey Kong and TWO new Smash games. That was definitely the best Direct of them all.

Wood, like your videos but I hate your jaycon sponsorships. They're a piece of garbage, the tuning is bad, bloated bass (people can like heavier bass but it's horribly done with them and many other mainstream companies like skullcandy and beats. ) They're cheap but they're cheaply made. Overall sound quality isn't good for it's price range. (Wired obviously it's gonna be even easier to get better sound quality for cheaper like kzn, or what have you but there are also better wireless for less as well.) Heard it's just cheap Chinese factory junk that's just got raycon branding for original model, wouldn't surprise me but just take that as a grain of salt cause I can't find a source on that.

Crazy how I have damn near every major switch game but I don’t have smash. And it’s not really because I don’t like smash. Just didn’t care enough to buy it. Even now. Maybe I’ll finally get it if Nintendo decides to at least make a smash with all dlc included so I can can just buy it all and all it’s content in one buy instead of getting the game then having to buy all those characters separately. Hopefully soon. I mean they are done now with smash dlc so I see no reason not too. Maybe even put the damn game on sale for once. It is pretty damn ancient already

The best direct of all time is the one that announced smash ultimate and I don’t even play smash anymore… I remember I had just got suspended from school that day so my mother took my phone but I begged her to let me watch the direct which she did and I went to sleep happy despite being suspended.
