I'm not all the way through the video yet so apologies if you bring this up later on, but this badge could be INSANELY fun if you decide to keep working on it. Along with fixing all the jank and softlocks, maybe fastfalling onto an enemy could make you bounce really high off of them, so you could do some insane "floor-is-lava" kinda stuff. On another note, I can't believe modding in this game is evolving so fast... We're only a month in and you guys already have the potential to do some BIG things here.
This is a really good badge idea and I'm quite surprised it wasn't in the game. I'm excited to see all the badges, levels, enemies, characters, power-ups and other things that modders will put in the game
34:19 you can still technically kill them with the drill hat directly onto them instead of pulling their pullers, but I'm not sure not sure how you'd pull (haha) that off without the twirl jump badge.
I think it's because the badge puts you in the same state as that one wonder effect from the world 5 special level and the game's code doesn't think that standing while in that state is possible so it doesn't give you the capabilities to grab things or throw fireballs. There might be some other reason but that's the one that makes sense to me.
Maybe I’m an idiot, but couldn’t you use 2p ghost to get past the magma bog level? You could hold L and R to become a ghost and ‘rebirthing’ bounces the ghost up a bit right?
It makes sense that the badge doesn't let you go above or below the camera's limits. Skydiving always occurs during specific segments where the screen scrolls down, and mario can't really move past the camera's borders.
I like the idea of wonder effects as badges Also, the reason you can’t scroll vertically with this is because that’s just how the wonder effect works. Normally it would force you into an autoscroll thus disabling your ability to scroll the camera vertically
@@swift0sword679 the only ones you would need to recreate are the ones that affect the stage, anything that affects the player is just a state you can toggle on
I havent played the game but i have some ideas for some of the impossible sections: 11:35 idk how the drill interacts with that block or if it's even available at this point in the game but you might be able to hit the block with it using the weird fake groundpound thing or by going under it and popping out of the ground 37:26 Idk how exactly the yoshi mounting mechanic works but if you can start mounting a yoshi while it's midair then you could probably beat the level by making the yoshi jump under you before the skydiving starts
originally we were going to come back after July since we were both busy with real world things, but then Amethyst got more busy as well as more burned out. Fortunately our passion for making awesome things has reignited and we hope to bring you the best content we can! :D

At 37:30 in world 6 with that npc house with the lever thing you couldnt grab, I think there could be a way up. Since you can still do spin jumps from the ground, im curious if you could use that with the bubble flower to get an extra boost up or if the skydive wouldnt allow you to jump on a bubble. But if it is possible, then that would mean the level isnt a softlock
Technically, this wouldn’t be an action badge, it would actually be an expert badge. Expert badges give you an upside (in this case, falling slower) and a downside. (In this case, no using power-ups.) Action badges switch out a part of your move set for a different part of your move set that you didn’t have before. Am I being a nerd? I really don’t know right now tbh.
At the time of posting the first part, we thought we had the time to get the video out before the break in July, however it basically came down to the question of quality or quantity; shall we push this out even though we're not happy with it? Ultimately we've both decided that we only want to release videos that we're both proud of, and unfortunately that meant not bothering with the 2nd part of the gravity pants mod at the time. Now we've moved onto other things. We appreciate you looking forward to more totk content from us though, and hope you enjoy the other things we post just as much!!
36:49 couldn’t you have positioned yoshi beside that little ledge and just have mario walk onto him? He doesn’t enter skydive after a few seconds, right?
I was thinking having Yoshi on the higher ledge so Mario can hop on right before the skydive, however I think the skydive completely disables the feature regardless of when you're able to get on
Amethyst Mario modding shenanigans, ahoy! Now if you could change the Invisibility Badge to be “video game invisible” instead (either semi-transparent or an outline around character like SM64 Vanish Cap or something) that would be groovy.
Fun fact: someone tried a pacifist run without any major glitches. He had to kill more than 5 enemies. (Another fun fact is that the skydive wonder flower event doesn't let you go off screen, and that Amy used it to make it.)

You might be able to get rid of the second cheat. I haven’t tested it but if you add a second player during the level, they spawn on the first player after a few moments. If you do that midair, they might gain a bit of height if you hold jump on the second controller as they spawn
35:07 are you sure that didn't only softlock because you jumped? i feel like if you just let yourself fall with the block it would be fine, like you just immediately assumed it was a softlock and pronounced the challenge dead without even making sure
37:49 you can definitely get past this by one player go into a ghost, the other person jumping right it the walls then while the person is in mid air, the other person touch them so they get a boost up.
