I still remember the episode when the orange family was brought home by claire. At first she just want to save them from being euthanized but in the end she decided to adopt three of em. I still remember vividly how the subscribers hated the orange family so much. They called them pest and all the bad things. They might love cats from special breeds like Claire other cats but hate stray domestic cat like Nana & her sons so they keep commenting & ask claire to send the three back to the shelter. It broke my heart when the adults being glutinous, vicious & fierce and being praised but when the twins copied them, the subs posted hate comments. They're just kitten, how could they hate them that much; even after claire explained every cat has their own troublemaker phase in their lives, there still a lot of hatred towards the twins. I'm glad as times goes by, many subscribers love the orange family too 😔❤ Thanks claire for always doing your best to your youngest ones!
Well, this explains a lot about what's been going on with Nana over the last few months. I do miss the days when she was excited to go to the vet or would wander into the camera and steal random objects. 'Hi! I'm Nana! Don't mind me!' (Grabs a chicken breast and leaves). One day she will realize that she is safe and loved. Keep trying Claire. That's all we can ask.
Nana just needs to be reminded that she likes being loved on and petted. There's a method nicknamed "scoop and snuggle". It's where you scoop up and securely hold them through their fight/flight/freeze response until the instant that they relax, then let them go. Each time you hold them a few seconds longer. Within a week or so, you have a kitty that will let you hold them without a fight. Then you can start giving them all the love and treats. Within a month, they should come seeking you out for cuddles. You do have to keep an eye out on these types of kitties - as soon as they show signs of regression, back to scoop and snuggle. I have a cat that needs the reminder scoop every few months - where I have to chase her a bit, scoop her up and then just walk around with her in my arms for a few minutes. The skittishness just melts away as I hold her. And she becomes a friendly cat again. I always feel bad that It takes me time to notice that's she regressing - but I do my best.
I can 100% confirm this as it is how i turned my skittish cat into a love bug. She's affectionate but on her terms let's me pick her up, cuddle and loves pats. She also has days where she wants to be left alone
You sound like a very caring cat owner. Loving your kitty even when she doesn't know she likes it. Just needs a little reminder. It's very good advice for people with cats like yours.
so that method has a name, I did "scoop and snuggle" to my regressed cat and it is working. I found her getting less and less aproachable and spend more of her time outdoor, I need 1 week and alot of talk to her.
Thanks for sharing Nana, Toto & Dodo story. I will never forget that day,and and how you kept them together. NANA was the first to learn *high five🐾* another funny moment was the day you realized the kittens were bigger and could Jump up to get the food. Haha🤗 Tfsharing Claire + Cats❤🐈
This is the video I’ve been waiting for 😭😭😭 as president of the Nana fan club, I’ve been worried about how she went from loving you to being scared of you, and hissing at you?! It makes me so sad 😭. I’ve watched Nana and the kids from the beginning, I remember people posting how they didn’t like the 3 new additions and us defending them in the comments, now they are so loved by fans of this channel! Sometimes I wonder if being with 9 cats is too much for her and she needs a family of one, but I would wail and cry if you ever gave her away so yeah. Maybe every week do something only with Nana? Maybe sit and give her a treat or make dinner and only have her in the kitchen with you sometimes. I just want her to adore you again like she used to! You’re doing so much for her and we love you for it.
The 10 kitties love to play hide-and-seek with Claire. I'm so glad that Nana grew up very well with her twins Dodo and Toto. Claire did the right thing to bring them in the family.
I still think NaNa is a gorgeous cat with wonderful markings. I hope she returns to her lovable self and seeks out your affection, Claire. Keep trying!!
@@wanesterrcm I had to study them for quite a while before they were quickly identifiable (especially DoDo and ToTo). Keep watching, be patient, it's worth it!
Aww so happy to see LaLa is well and lovely. Ah NaNa is slowly getting comfortable in front of the camera, as she used to be shy and uncomfortable. Ah it is so wonderful both DoDo and ToTo grow up healthy and lovely boys. 🐾
June 2020 was when I had to put my 14 year old cat, Sandy Cheeks, down because of extreme kidney failure. But it was also the month that I adopted a 7 week old feral kitten, whom I named Angel. She was a special gift from a friend of Mom's, who is a Min Pin breeder. I got Angel a day or two after Sandy's passing. It's almost the end of the year and Angel's a 3 year old whom I took care and love so much. She's also the same cat that gets herself into trouble at times, causes mischief, thinks she's the queen of my home and is bigger than a normal average cat because I THINK she could have a mix of Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest Cat DNA in her genes! ^^;;; But I still love her the most! And I remember the scenes here! TT when she got sulky from the lack of attention, the cats hissing at one of the kittens, then getting spooked by the brave kitten, Toto and Dodo squeezing out from between the bars of the supposed "Kitten proof" gate, Nana being friendly with DD and both Toto and Dodo adopting him as their DaDDy. ^^ Fun memories!
Oh that makes me so sad. Claire is truly trying to help Nana be happy and healthy but Nana doesn’t understand. It’s upsetting to see her reverting back to her stray cat behavior but she has the best, most patient and loving owner in the world. Hopefully with time she will be comfortable again and understand Claire is trying to do all of those things for her benefit.
NaNa will come around again. She’s been through so much in her young life, including being a “teen mom” who had her babies in the street. DoDo and ToTo got to see the love when they were kittens (like the other Kittisaurus crew). It’s best to celebrate the small victories and give NaNa some time. Here are some small victories - * She gets along with all the other cats in the group. They all love her, and there are never any skirmishes between her and the others. * She started coming around for “pang pangs”. That’s a sign that she’s starting to love you again.
Me too, Janet. I've been hoping for this for quite a long time now. It will be a joyous week when NaNa seeks out Claire's affection several times in quick succession!!
I know how you feel! My roomate has two cats, and while one of them has adopted me, the other remains scared of me even after 2 years. Her litterbox is is in my bathroom and her food is in my room so she spends quite some time in my room! She frequently will nap in the cat cave I have on my desk...while I am asleep, and then runs away when I get up. It doesn't matter though, I love her and will continue taking care of her and hope one day she will no longer run from me, but even if she doesn't that doesn't change anything. With cats, you love them even if their personality isn't super affectionate. Thank you for loving Nana, Claire!
Poor NaNa being so traumatized because she didn't understand that you were doing things to help her 😢 She reminds me of my sweet Zora who died last year. Zora was a former stray, and I had to treat her for an eye infection. She became so wild and scared, and it took years to rebuild trust. Sometimes taking care of our cats means doing things that scare them, but we still love them so much. Thank you for being such a good mama to your cats, Claire ❤🐾💫🐈💖
I don't know if you've done this already, but it might be helpful to use methods that are typically used for taming feral kittens! Only feeding them with you nearby the whole time, giving treats that have to be taken directly from your hand (like chicken baby food on your finger), petting them with a toothbrush, etc. Moving very slowly, waiting at a comfortable distance, and waiting for them to come to you can all be useful methods as well!
I like how in the beginning, when she finds each of her cats, she's like "awww how are you doing my darling", and when she finds Lulu, she's like "aww hi- wait, what were you up to?"
I had a pregnant stray cat that tricked me just like Nana tricked you, she was affectionate and sweet when I was taking care of her and her kids and now she's a terror 😂😂
Pregnant cats I think create hormones that make them more bold around people to allow them to find shelter nearer people. I think it also makes them more accepting of other cats. It might have made her more friendly than normal, and since she is fixed it no longer happens.
수고했어요❤ Nana little bit different with other cats because she has so much memories when she live in street. She much more alert and sensitive to her environment. U did a great job. Other kids(kitties) also doing a great job accepting n loving her so well. Her body might be fragile but she hv strong independent instinct. It has been 3 years seen u adopting her n she still adjusting it. U showed her many love n I know she really love u❤.All of you really going a great job😊😊😊
I had a furbaby who struggled with adjusting (she was a stray in her early life), and it took quite some time for her whenever there was a major change (like moving). She hid under our bed for about 2 months when we first moved, and we never saw her. She snuck out to eat and potty, and ran as soon as someone came near. She would even run when someone knocked on the door. She adjusted though, and she had 2 other furbabies keeping her company. Next thing you knew, she was climbing on us and seeking us out and cuddling all the time. She also got more comfortable when someone else was in the house and would come to investigate. It took a really long time (it felt like), but once she got comfortable, she was such a delightful nudge!
NaNa and her boys will always have a special place in my heart because they led me to discover this channel 😊 it is a heart breaking to see a once affectionate cat become traumatise after moving to another place 😢 even if NaNa isnt that close anymore Claire, i’m happy to still see NaNa being taken care of and love. So, thank you Claire for your endless patience and love ☺️
Oh my god, I read the title and thought she adopted ANOTHER cat. XD Not that it'd be a bad thing, of course. The more cats the better I say and Claire's an excellent owner. Just the thought of an 11th cat made my head spin a little. lol
Thank you for the full story. Poor NaNa. She thought she finally found a home and then you moved. She needs to know that where her family is (all of you) IS her home. Bless her.
Poor NaNa she’s such a sweet baby. I feel so bad that she gets so scared and I feel bad for you too Claire because I know you only want to take good care of her. I hope NaNa can soon learn to be courageous and discover lots of love and bum pats! 💜
There are four important things, that can be shown from this video. 1. All those experiences she had, triggered Nana's wild side, and made her the same as the street cat, who tries to survive on her own. I think even with Dodo on her side, she won't take it easy. I hope Nana will become trusting again, so she can become even closer to Claire and the other cats. 2. Toto really tries to become the bully. I think also he felt the changes after Claire beginned to go on those adventures with TT and Lulu. And i also think, that Toto knows he is one of the heaviest ones, so he tries to take the lead against the leaders DD and TT is representing. 3. I think there will become more troubles Claire and her family have to face in the future. But i hope Claire will become close to the cats and make peace with Nana. Nana is a clever cat, but is right now going trough things with her instincts as her street cat side. But with patience, and trust both from Nana and Claire together, she can become the house cat Nana again. I know Claire can build up the trust to Nana again, and that can result in, that Nana can trust her again. 4. The way it is now it is also affecting how Toto and Dodo is doing. They think their mother is not trusting Claire like they do, and that makes them live separate from each other.
poor nana 😭 it seems like yesterday when she came to your home... i've been wondering why shes not in Videos anymore but i love her so much i hope she can relax a bit again
I remember when the video about you fostering Nadoto came out and I was a bit skeptical of whether you would give them up. The three of them were so precious after all, too precious for you to let go of in the end hahaha 😂
