Round 1: *Rescue-Ace* (2-0) Round 2: *Chimera Branded* (Round 2 feature match, link in the video description) (2-0) Round 3: *Floowandereeze* (that other tribute deck... LOOL) (2-1) - G1: He starts and combo. - G2: I start and he has no answer for Majesty's Fiend. - G3: He bricks and has no answer for Majesty's Fiend. =D Round 4: *Purrely* (2-1) - G1: I go 2nd, and he draws 6 (!!!) with FULLY loaded Ex-Noir. Stormforth in Vanity's Fiend locks this up, even though he's like +10 over me..! =D - G2: He combo's, but I brick. - G3: I control with Fiends and Domain, he can't answer Domain lock because Book of Eclipse doesn't out it..! =D Round 5: *Unchained* (2-1) | 5-0 overall!!! Round 6: *SHS FTK* (0-2) - G1: I lose another diceroll... He FTK's - G2: I misplay and lose. Got myself some food and drinks, that gave me a boost (mentally...) Round 7: *Branded Chimera* (2-0) Round 8: *Unchained* (2-0) Round 9: *Branded Chimera* (he ended up 1st after swiss) (0-2) - G1: I open good, but I lost diceroll (LOOOOL...) He bodies me with Dragoon and more fusions. - G2: I brick... He opened 2 Imperm and Duster later tho... Round 10: *Dragon Link* (1-2) - G1: Domain Lock - G2: Borrelend and Savage, which I can easily out, BUT he Drolls... - G3: I open OK, but he had ASH on tenacity... I didn't open any Fenrir/Anchamoufrite/Vassals, so I wasn't able to put up Domain Lock. He OTK's because we were close to time. Very happy with the result overall. I 'only' won 3 dicerolls (lost 7), BUT this format (until AGOV) feels really fair and that gives DOMAIN MONARCHS a fair chance if going 2nd (Stormforth bodies so many bossmonsters..!) I got Impermed, Ash'd, Drolled, Booked etc. so many times, but decks in this format can hardly out Fiend + Domain lock, or even 1 fiend..! THANK YOU ALL FOR THE MASSIVE SUPPORT. I WAS OVERWHELMED..! Thank you to everyone who came up for a pic etc. Always appreciated! =D

According to the yugipedia rulings page, stormforth gets past this immunity. “””If the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" is applied, Dinosaur-Type monsters on your field will be unaffected by your opponent’s activated effects. In this scenario, although "The Monarchs Stormforth" was an activated card, applying its effect that allows your opponent to Tribute Summon using your monster is not an effect that starts a Chain. Therefore, even if the effect of "Miscellaneousaurus" is applying, your opponent can use the effect of "The Monarchs Stormforth" to Tribute your Dinosaur-Type monster for a Tribute Summon.”””
@@Aimmboat TLDR; Stormforth ACTIVATES, but the tribute part doesn't happen during its RESOLUTION (so it isn't considered part of the "activated effect"). Stormforth leaves on the gamestate a "lingering spell effect" that can tribute anything (except "unaffected by spell/card effects" and not just unaffected by "ACTIVATED EFFECTS" like Noir and Punisher) that does not ACTIVATE and just extends your potential tribute fodder when you perform that action, just like Lair of Darkness or Rikka Konkon. That's why all these bypass Noir's protection. But neither would work if your Noir was affected by "Forbidden Lance" since it makes Noir unaffected by Spell Effects and doesn't care if those effects are activated/continuous/lingering. Mirrorjade's end phase destruction effect works around Noir based on the same principle (not being an activated effect).
Be careful piloting this deck! Lithium is VERY knowledgeable on other decks. If you’re going to play a rogue deck like this you have to know what most decks do
I've built a Alien control deck for awhile now and I want to go to a YCS and see how well I do with it. You doing so well is giving me inspiration and confidence good job :)
damn man it would have been legendary if you topped with monarchs in 2023 you could put your monarch list in the next cross-banlist if you managed to top
So proud of you lithium!! Peoples champ indeed. I know how you're feeling though, got 10th place with six Sams at a regionals I went to. Didn't expect to get so far but was profoundly proud that a deck that meant so much to me did so well.
I always respect and appreciate players with enter bigger events with decks that you don't typically see. The fact you that almost topped with Monarchs is incredible. 7-3 is nothing to sneeze at. Good job!
Well done Lithium doing so well with Monarchs is something to be really proud of. Monarch was the first deck I ever picked up when I started playing Yu-Gi-Oh and has a soft spot in my hart seeing you always take it too big events is awesome and seeing you do so well with it at Dortmund was definitely the highlight of the weekend. @@DelicashilousThe only way the deck ever wins is with floodgates. They would have to release cards that drastically change the playstyle to change that. Not that i don’t think monarchs are a cool idea, but the floodgates kinda ruin it.
@@bobbyf9307 how about an omni negate that gives you an instant free tribute summon even in the Enemies turn once per turn? That would give them some edge. That and more protection & special summon cards that count as tribute summon for monarchs. But for all this big buffs they should Limit or ban the floodgate cards.

It was a pleasure watching the match against Branded Chimera! It requires to have balls of steel going to a 2023 championship with a 2016 meta deck, good job man, and thumbs up for Monarchs still rockin' !!! 💪🏻
It was really nice meeting you. Looks like the full force of fiends is the way to go. Still can't believe what you get out of the monarch deck. Hopefully the new shadow thestalos is a sign that we get a couple new monarch cards in the future
Congrats from France 😉 Doing 7-3 with Monarchs is a really good perform, because lot of side decks are running boardbreakers, so It's can be difficult to keep Vanity/Majesty on field sometimes... But you do it, thus gg 👍
I stopped playing in 2016. I wanted to come back, but so many Decks came out since than. your list feels like i can play something from the get go. Ty.
It may be stun, but at least it's something different that can now be played because Ariseheart isn't a card that needs to be worried about. Great run!

Hey Lithium, thanks for sharing this awesome list! At 5:23 you talk about how Stormforth was used to break boards, namely against Purrely. If your opponent drew 6 cards during the Standby Phase , that means they Purreleaped probably into Expurrely Noir. How did you remove the Expurrely Noir before locking down with Vanity's Fiend and Domain? Was it just below 5 materials and Stormforth could finally tribute it away for Vanity's Fiend? Thanks again!
I havnt played physical ygo in a while, after 14 years of playing. Had a 3 year break and started one piece. This deck brings back a lot of good memories, i might build it and play a couple of locals for fun.
Great deck! I now want to test it and I am very happy for your result. Just one precisation: the floowandereeze continuous spell, as it's written, can't tribute immune monsters like monarch storm does
first thing.....congratulations for the top. If I may I would like to ask you some questions (I also play monarch and I'm curious XD). - why don't you play side dark ruler no more? -why haven't you played Mithra the Thunder Vassal? - why don't you play Time-Tearing Morganite?
Time-Tearing morganite (while good can also be a terrible card) you have to wait a full turn to draw sometimes it is sadly too slow and drawing more than 1 is a death sentence. (squire was most likely choosen over mithra cause it can return monarch/spells and traps and domain is main win con). Dark ruler may not have been sided cause you main deck majesty's fiend meaning most of the time you drop a kash then summon majesty to stop all monster effects and hopefully drop a domain of the true monarchs and stomp over anything bigger than 2400. (Dark ruler can do nothing by itself unless you can out the board with attacks or other removal.) If you want to play time-tearing you would have to justify running two or three triple tactics thruster and 1 morganite.
This is the type of deck that always catches you off guard at a big tournament. You really can come up against anything 😂 To play true rogue decks like this you have to know the format. Monarchs have the advantage of not needing an extra deck so that helps too as they lock out the opponents extra.
Honestly, with all board breaker : evently, lighting storm…. Book of moon…. Monarch just need a new tribute that play around ash or veiler/imperm and they looking good.
Have you ever tested pot of extravagance with an extra deck (sole purpose being banished to the pot) in the place of your pendulum card? Just an idea that i have had in my head for a bit... just getting back into yugioh recently so i havent had a chance to test it myself. Thanks and congratulations on the nice finish!
Lithium, great decklist as always, but i wanted to ask you a thing. Why didn't you run Mithra instead of Edea and Eidos? Could it be because of their additional effects to recover and reborn?
im 6 days late so idk if youll see this but one of the kashtiras are 2800/1000 so it works with tenacity and its searchable, also you can cut the babys for it. great card, also searches the trap.
Well I have Started to test monarchs but i have decided to play Raiza the mega monarch, drop the squires and pendlum monsters and the one for one (they ain't needed). And side deck erberus and heavenly. I have also mained tanktops.
Very interesting very similar to the version I've been playing at regionals except i havent bothered to splash for the fenrirs. Very old school build of monarchs but i agree they have a weirdly good meta match up atm with most decks making boards without negates and only a very big monsters stormforth is suddenly very good. Whats the opinion on time tearing morganite ? It turns off the hand traps and ehther importantly but does help you play through hand traps on the squires and the extra draws help in reduced game states or allow you to finish before they can draw outs to a fiend. I've been playing around with both and unsure which is better.
Lithium I know you said the eidos/eria normal summons were necessary evils for the deck, but did you ever consider just 3 planet and 1 riseheart or 1 planet, one riseheart, 2 unicorn in the maindeck instead of them? Planet just adds consistency to Fenrir and riseheart is another searchable free special summon as tribute fodder if needed. Feel like that could be more relevant than the small boys
Regarding Edea and Eidos, why not run 3 Magician's Souls and 1 Illusion. It gets you your tribute fodder for the Fiends, gives you a discard outlet for Prime, and does better at playing around Imperm without wasting your normal summon?
@@nickpayne22098 from watching the feature and according to his explanations, getting the Fiends on board is his main priority. I don't know how often an Edea recycle would come up for him, but I'd assume consistently getting his win conditions on board and dodging hand traps is more important than getting Pantheism back a turn later.
I’d like a card that permanently gets your monarch attack to 5k so when you monarch erupt it, it will at least retain the attack and be a real monster.
