thanks to Karl Casey ‪@WhiteBatAudio‬ as always for the awesome audio.
just a short video to try and free up some storage,
oki know it's not pipeline welding or anything like it but I have way more footage than I can keep up with, so I aim to get some short videos out and I do have another long episode coming , repairing an actual monster truck!!. stay tuned! 👍🏻

Being honest, I would prefer to see welding repair videos than tractor videos. So, more welding videos please young man!

Hey you're alive! Awesome! I've been a pipeliner - the pay's great but the pace sucks. You've gotta find someone whose version of breakneck speed is the same as yours, then do synchronized welding (should be an olympic sport). I've found a happy medium between that and what you do, on-site repair and fabrication. Still get to stick it up outside, the pace isn't frantic, the pay's pretty good, but the work is a bit intermittent sometimes.

I'm 37 I started welding around 13 years old cousin and I used to help his uncle in his fields and he will bring his tractors and all to do our garden and all for us pretty much we traded labor so we can use his equipment for our garden one morning I walk down there he was building a root rake for his Massey Ferguson 135 and he asked me if I want to try it and I was hooked ever since 6010 Red rod I can smell that smell to this day and it brings me back to that day

If you can't get fine speed adjustments on your rotator it is difficult to get the weld to look like you want it to. I know from experience how difficult it can be.

I do a lot of shielded metal arc welding I'm not a pipeline operator but I do a lot of mobile welding with basically the same kind of setup here in America in Ohio similar to what you do to heavy equipment but for farmers in all kinds of weather in the winter months I work for whatever shop will take me because I cannot stand the cold too much and when I'm indoors I'm running a wire welder just like the one you run it's not that brand it's a Miller or a Lincoln I would love to experience esab equipment but I have not ever gotten to run one of their wire welding machines I've ran a renegade 300 but that's a stick welder only piece of esab equipment I've ever ran so I am still curious how their wire machines run you make some awesome videos bud

I am a pipeliner/pipewelder but cut my teeth doing what you do as well as anything else metal. Pipeline and tank battery is the most bang for your buck. $100 an hour with your own rig. But not as rewarding as shop and fab work.

Pipeline welding is a lot of fast passed busting ass. Pipe welding doesn't necessarily mean on a pipeline and is a bit more casual as no one is breathing down your neck waiting on you to advance so they can make their weld over yours. I always enjoyed powerplant and refinery welding that had fitters do the measurements, calculations and fitting.

You can get some pretty bad jobs working in the patch......biggest headache is mismanagement and the contractors that are subcontracting big jobs for a big company like Syncrude or Enbridge and they don't have stuff ready or expect miracles

Different to see pipe Mig welded. All the pipe laying videos it is stick. I used to build cold rooms. All the pipe was Tig welded. The ones you are welding aren't carrying liquid or gas. More for strength. With welds like that shouldn't go anywhere.
